Always thought his injury was a big shame for us. He was just starting to play well, then went to being alone, injured and away from home. I think had he been playing, he wouldn't have had the alone part...

Also, for any major leg injury, it seems to take a year plus to get back to best form after recovering enough to play (he says as he holds out hope that Emerton will be better in a few months...).

Ferguson is a decent player. Emerton has not really proved himself over many years at the club.

Emerton is a funny one. Just gets on with it, always offers enough in terms of running and directness but rarely seen a winger with so little creativity. You could argue that Pedersen, who gets all the stick, has given Rovers far more than Emo over the years. However the Norweigen is the one who gets the stick, probably because of his silly hairstyles and effeminate tilt to the way he plays even if he is himself a remarkably industrious player with a much greater creative side to his game.

Joey Barton showing he's still a little prick. 2 nasty challenges in a couple of minutes because his team is being beat soundly.

Really pointless tackles the likes of which you see thugs making in Sunday league because they can't play football.

To be fair, it's Arsenal. I encourage those kinds of tackles against those pricks.

Each to their own, for me out of the possible candidates I'd much rather Arsenal win the league and do well, best team to watch around and Wengers a genius (if a moaning git)

Arsenal can dish it out, but they can't take it. You breathe on them and they go down like they've been shot. I always appreciate it when someone actually clatters one of them.

Yes they play pretty football, but the cynical brand of the sport Wenger encourages is not my cup of tea.

Exiled is spot on - Arsenal play to a squeeky clean image, when infact they more than give it out to teams - they just dont think its fair that it comes back on them....Yes its good to see they can keep passing a ball - but its about winning & scoring goals, not making 40 passes and doing very little with it.

I hate there little B!tchy attitude when they roll around & cry foul at everything!

Agreed Hughesy. People seem to forget the style of play Wenger employed when he first arrived on the scene, with Viera and co. Rough, uncompromising, big bodied players. Now he has a different type of player and plays a different type of game. That's fine, just don't bloody whinge about it when people do to you what you used to do to others.

The funny thing is that was when they were winning titles and trophies. Their beautiful football hasn't produced a trophy for five years.

On a completley different topic but premier league related:

Blackpool Captain Charlie Adam is taking Blackpool to court.

The problem is we do neither of the former 2 at the minute :(

I think similar to how we have got stuck with a bully boy image Arsenal are on the other end of the scale when in reality Wenger moans a lot but so does just about every other manager in the league.

As for rolling around pretty much every player in the league is guilty and crying foul, that's the nature of the game at present.

When Samba got sent off for just about the most blatant red card ever, you could hear loads of people in the crowd giving the ref stick and moaning, the players were moaning as well.

Wenger is a hypocrite and Arsenal a bunch of diving whiners. They deserve more than they get, pain wise.

To be honest I meant any local grass roots league. I play on Saturdays myself but Sunday league gets the point across better.

In the lower divisions especially you get some right idiots who can barely play football and run around the park trying to take lumps out of the opposition and trying to kick off.

In fact we've played a few teams recently with that idea, really can leave a foul taste in the mouth.

Barton's tackles last night reminded me of that kind.
