How come when a ref and linesman are discussing whether a goal should stand it's ok for Rio Ferdinand to stand and join in the convo?

My god that annoyed me, like a petulant child wont do as he is told but he gets away with it, you have to believe he influenced the decision, if not why the hell did the liner flag in the first place.

The comment didn't really make sense even in a derogatory way. Since when has Robbo pinged a ball across to the wing, from which our winger has swept the ball across the pitch leading to our two forward men combining to score? Robbo just tends to punt the ball towards the box and we scramble it in.

Lazy commentating, although apparently suggesting we invented the tactic of having the keeper pass it beyond the defence.

What's with all the new netting at grounds. Noticed it at ewood on monday and just now on the football league show loads of teams seem to have these new checkered nets.

Wow I've made some redundant posts in my time but I think I've outdone myself there :D

Actually it has happened, or a similar created goal. I'd have to dig through our matches to find when, but I'm positive we've scored a couple of goals that have resulted from Robinson's long kick.

It was a disgrace especially how MOTD showed the ref sending the spurs players away.

Hansen did query why or how Ferdinand had 'special dispensation' when Clattenberg had ordered the Spurs players away. He suggested it was because he was England Captain. Personally I thought he must have had Harry Potters Invisibility cloak to hand.

I'll be fair to MOTD, they did give us some credit and acknowledged that we actually played well.

But was it BBC who said Samba's back-header was "Hernandez-esque"? Since when did he coin that move? He's only been around five seconds.

Clattenberg made a mess of it. If you should play to the whistle, why wasn't it hand ball ? The way Nani wriggled on the floor when the pen wasn't given was laughable, and Scholes and Ferdinand's attitude disgusting.

Apparently cokehead Ferdinand is demanding new pay talks after the Rooney debacle. Fergie shouldn't have given in to spud face,he'll have a queue outside his office now of overpaid chavs.

Where have the decent sportsmen gone ? Oh aye, Ronnie. <_<

Not sure he did Nick. I think he may not have seen it and was let down by his linesman who may not have seen it either but whose job it was to see it. After that Spurs really should have played to the whistle. Not doing is the stuff that you have to knock out of kids when they are playing for the Cub scouts. Similar unprofessionalism saw Lpool score a freak goal v Sunderland only a few weeks ago.

As far as Scholes is concerned imo he read the situation completely, saw the opportunity first and was running to take the pass from Nani when Nani put it in himself (and in fairness to Nani he did appear to look at the ref and was given the all clear by Clattenberg). imo Scholes simply displayed the all round awareness, single minded concentration and speed of thought that has made him such a great player for MU.

How can they have not seen the handball ?

Scholes is I agree, a model footballer in the same vein as Giggs, but if you watch the reaction as Nani goes down even he gives the ref a shove as if to say what are you doing about it ?

It's barracking officials and cheating players that p1ss me off on a regular basis. No wonder many people enjoy watching lower league football these days.

I would love to see a clip of a ref look the likes of John Terry or Rooney in the eye and clearly say "F__k off you little ___ and throw one up another slag" when they start chasing the ref.

Better still, send one off, then red card still in hand, beckon other players to 'come and have a go' :)

I'm guessing of course but it's odd that they both missed it. Considering the timing I'd imagine Clattenberg was glancing over to the lino for guidance about the penalty claim and I'd also imagine that the lino was mee mowing back to the ref that it wasn't a penalty. It's split second stuff and there isn't any other explanation imo. Video evidence would have disallowed the goal of course and given a free kick to Spurs but we don't allow it's use and Spurs would likely still have gone home empty handed.

There would have been hell to pay if that was the winning goal of course and Clattenberg would actually be receiving death threats by the barrowful and had his house torched if it had been the winning goal for Spurs. :glare:

It's like the game at Ewood yesterday. Chelsea got EVERY 50/50 decision, as all the 'big' clubs do. That's the nature of the game these days.
