Hughesy Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Giggs has been there & done it...he won it all Bale has done fook all compared...Perhaps in 10 years you can compare them, but at the moment he isnt even in the same class as what Giggs was at the top of his game.

speeeeeeedie Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEAouJwTYlU Far be it for me to defend a Manc but one or two of those goals are Bale-esque. Worth noting who the Arsenal players are Giggs runs past for the goal rated number 1. My favourite Giggs goal isn't there- against Juventus when he collected the ball on the left touchline and just accelerated away from the defenders before smashing an unstoppable shot into the far corner. The movement was so smooth it was breath taking. Number 2 is my favourite. How old was he? 19? Giggs is a class above and has been for years. Playing out wide where they do more running than anyone else and still going after nearly 20 years is some feat.

Hate to say it but that number one goal against Arsenal is probably the best goal I have ever seen
koi Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Bales has had a decent start to this season, Giggs is one of the best players of the last 20 years, not really a comparison is it?
Amo Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Carew not happy with Houllier I wouldn't mind us snapping Carew up in January. Ideal target man.
Hughesy Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I wouldn't mind us snapping Carew up in January. Ideal target man. Thats what I was thinking...perhaps a 2 year contract Carew out of contract in Summer Seb Larsson out of contract in Summer 2 signings that wouldnt cost the earth & would improve our starting 11
S15 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I wouldn't mind us snapping Carew up in January. Ideal target man. I've seen quite a lot of Villa this season, and the bloke's a ****head. Completely useless.
Amo Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I've seen quite a lot of Villa this season, and the bloke's a ****head. Completely useless. I haven't seen much of him this year, but we're good at picking up unfavoured players. Carew would be a good short-term signing for our system.
LeChuck Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Carew would be a no brainer for me, he does score goals and can play the lone striker role. Roberts out and Carew in would be good business. I forgot that he didn't get on with Houllier at Lyon. I reckon he'll definitely be available, and he must appeal to Sam. Edit: He's got a better record at Villa than I thought - 1 in 3. If he did that for us we'd be looking at 12-13 goals over a season, much better than anyone else can manage at the moment.
67splitscreen Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Looks like Grant's games are numbered, 7 points or out. 7 from 4 games. Sullivan says they'll shuffle the pack but not the manager Yeh, right!.
Brfcrule1 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 that's an amzing turn of phrase from yesterday they saying they will move to the olympic stadium and winning the EPL title as stated below http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6485779,00.html now Grant has 4 games to save his job just makes good comedy value One day moving to the olympic stadium, winning the EPL, Grant has 4 games to save his job & Gold banned from attending the game at Birmingham if it was anything else this would be classed as a comedy side splitting stuff!
Iceman Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Bolton 4 - 2 Spurs. Martin Petrov on the score sheet, and a player i was hoping we had signed.
Backroom DE. Posted November 6, 2010 Backroom Posted November 6, 2010 You have to commend the job Coyle is doing at Bolton. The only other manager I would have had here when Allardyce was appointed.

Nah let's not forget, a lot of these goals came when he had Young, Milner and Agbonlahor causing mayhem around him. Now Milner has left and Agbonlahor is injured you're getting a sneak peak of how he'd be in Blue and White halves.

Hughesy Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Nasty stamp by Huddlestone in the Bolton game...should get a ban
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 It was shocking, you could see his leg clearly move towards Elmander. He'll more than likely escape like he did in the Champions League.
Backroom Tom Posted November 7, 2010 Author Backroom Posted November 7, 2010 How in the blue hell was that not a goal or a penalty and red card for Stoke at Sunderland, you wont see a more blatant handball
Amo Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Hernandez needs to work on his diving if he wants to succeed at OT.
thenodrog Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 You have to commend the job Coyle is doing at Bolton. The only other manager I would have had here when Allardyce was appointed. We can also see why SA wanted Kevin Davies! And also the job Davies is doing for Bolton and why he should have been in the England set up 5/6 years ago. Odd too why so many on here were in opposition to Davies coming here...... then again perhaps not all that odd.

BuckyRover Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Carroll has just scored. I stand by my assertion that he is WAY out of our price range.
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I think that the whole world stands by the fact that Wenger needs a keeper!
