Watching Yaya Toure of Man City on MOTD1 last night showed exactly why hes one of the best paid players in the league with little Scot Parker simply struggling to match the so powerful and skillful African.

Yaya Toure remind me of a cross between Patrick Viera, Adebeyor and Kanu rolled into one with his style, now thats one hell of a potent combination.

Finally surely that was a misplaced pass from Garreth Barry for Y.Toure first goal at Wham.

City's statement puts the spotlight back on Tevez in terms of him wanting to re-negotiate his contract, but his request being turned down previously, something along the lines of what Nicko said last night.

Think we got that one right...

"Significantly, over recent months, the club has also received numerous requests from Carlos' representative to renegotiate and improve his playing contract as well as more recently a request to extend that contract by another year.

"However, in line with the club's policy of not negotiating playing contracts mid-season this has not been granted.

"Carlos' current five-year contract has three and a half years to run and he is the highest paid player at the Manchester City Football Club.

"This is both an unfortunate and unwelcome distraction and the club will remain focused on the games ahead in what is turning out to be a very promising season. The door remains open for Carlos to be selected to play."

By the way, why do City negotiate with an unlicensed agent????

Presumably cos Tevez is his client. -_-

Live by the sword and die by the sword.... I bet the Red half of Manchester (sorry of the Home counties, Irelend and Scandanavia etc) will be laughing up their sleeves at this situation. It will end in tears imo.

Wow, this means he must be on more than Yaya so over £200k a week, I recon that would make him the highest paid player in the world, no wonder Man Utd couldn't keep him if that was the sort of money he wanted.

Think the radio said Tevez is thought to be on 286k per week TAX FREE. Truly obscene.

Because he's constantly complaining about his contract, his desire to play football, the training etc etc.

Not sure I have heard him constantly complaining about his contract, unless you believe everything you read in the tabloids of course.

His wife who was with him has gone back to Argentina that is the root of his problems I believe. Does that make his a tosser ? Not in my book. He is one of the hardest working players in the premiership.

Balotelli and Adebayor they are the two biggest tossers at City.

Drogba was a cert to miss that penalty. He should have handed the ball to Lampard, what an idiot.

Not since Rovers failed to turn up for 95/96 have I seen PL champions surrender their title so meekly. Pathetic stuff from Chelsea. Ferguson must be laughing into his snifter this evening. The inevitable victory over the usual soft-bellied Arsenal team will see his incredibly average side nice and clear from their main rivals. Unbelievable. :angry2:

They're a shadow of the United teams that have been so successful in the past.

That's a testament to those teams, this Man United team despite it's 'averageness' is still unbeaten and full of world class players.

Just think what'll happen when they come into form.
