philipl Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 So the porn kings will sack him even after he's gone on a decent run and pulled them off the foot of the table. It's also half way through the transfer window. Surely they should have given him the boot a few weeks ago if they were going to do it. Just a thought- Martin O'Neill is notoriously indecisive. It could be the wooing of him is what has stayed the hand of the porn boys from the firing and now that Grant has done the dog work of getting West Ham into a potential escape position and won the first leg of the SF, MoN rather fancies it when he didn't four weeks ago.

I could beleive that scenario. However, who'd put MON in charge for the second half of a season? Have they seen what happens to his teams after Feb?
chaddyrovers Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Roberto Di Matteo could be sacked today if WBA fail to get a result. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/172114/West-Brom-s-Roberto-Di-Matteo-faces-chop-fear/

They are just missing a bit of luck.

We have been very lucky recently apart from the Newcastle game hence why we have picked up a few points. I agree though the last few weeks of Grant being a dead man walking has been very poor form by the board. I suppose thats the problem with having 2 people in charge, Sullivan wants Grant sacked but Gold wants to give him more time.
BuckyRover Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I thought Sam was nailed on to get picked up rather quickly and guide a team to safety at our expense. I await with baited breath
American Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Pathetic story, Di Matteo has done a great job there and has West Brom playing some great stuff. They are just missing a bit of luck. No, they look like crap the last month. That being said, he still doesn't deserve the sack.
John Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I thought Sam was nailed on to get picked up rather quickly and guide a team to safety at our expense. I await with baited breath Why? Is it personal between you two? Do you really hate him that much?
jim mk2 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I thought Sam was nailed on to get picked up rather quickly and guide a team to safety at our expense. I await with baited breath Sam has been mentioned as a potential candidate for West Ham but was never "nailed on". We await with baited breath your apology. Roberto Di Matteo could be sacked today if WBA fail to get a result. http://www.dailystar...aces-chop-fear/ The Baggies have had some bad luck recently, including our very lucky win over them at the Hawthorns. If they do sack him it would be a classic case of a board panicking after a poor run of form. I would hope Jeremy Peace knows better than that.
RevidgeBlue Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Roberto Di Matteo could be sacked today if WBA fail to get a result. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/172114/West-Brom-s-Roberto-Di-Matteo-faces-chop-fear/ That ties in with a rumour I heard Thursday night about another manager having been sounded out to see if he would be interested in the vacancy. Bet you can't guess who! Will be a bit annoyed if it happens because at that point RDM was 33/1 in the "Next Premiership Manager to Leave" market at Ladbrokes. And I didn't do it. Hope Avram beats him to it then it still might be worth a sneaky fiver if WBA don't get a good result against Blackpool today.
Valois Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I thought Sam was nailed on to get picked up rather quickly and guide a team to safety at our expense. I await with baited breath I hear there may be a vacancy coming up at Bournemouth quite soon. Then again I doubt he would be their first choice either. Qatar it is.
philipl Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 1429: Breaking news: BBC Radio 5 live is reporting that Senegalese striker Demba Ba has failed his medical at Stoke. Valois that is a pathetic post. Sam did an extremely good job for Rovers.

Valois Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Stupid post. Your knowledge of football would fit on the back of one of these. You really are a sad, lonely, bitter old man, who must live a very sheltered life to continue to comment on every single one of my posts with a snide remark. Your obsession with me and my posts is becoming slightly weird, given the internet is a breeding ground for sad cases, it's hardly surprising that I would run into one on this board. If it helps to provide some enjoyment in your dull, sad and mundane life please feel free to continue. By the way that wasn't you ringing me and breathing heavily down the phone last night was it? Coming from someone who didnt think the likes of Defoe, Keown and Hughes were a success on their return the their former clubs, your knowledge of football must also be some what lacking. I dont claim to be a know all when it comes to football, it's not the be all and end all, and there are things in my life I consider to be more important.

BRFC1995 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 how the hell is bridge on 90k.....he is unbelievably bad cannot think of too many worse debuts
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 how the hell is bridge on 90k.....he is unbelievably bad cannot think of too many worse debuts Never rated the guy, like a lot of modern full backs neat and tidy on the ball but no idea how to defend. As I said the other day I'd rather have Givet there.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Woodgate at Real and Ooijer with us spring to mind.
JoeBlueWhite Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 I know its always a big story when a manager is about to be sacked but for the whole of WHam\Arsenal the commentators were just going "Avram Grant, Avram Grant, Martin O'Neil, Avram Grant......" non stop. With the camera cutting to the porn barons and Brady every 30 seconds as well.
cn174 Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Just read on Bolton forum that Nat Lofthouse has died.
speeeeeeedie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 how the hell is bridge on 90k.....he is unbelievably bad cannot think of too many worse debuts I was thinking the same thing. He was awful. He's also not going to do too much to keep them up either.
philipl Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 When I saw Bridge had gone to West Ham, my reaction was that their relegation had become more likely.
The Rover of Finland Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 When I saw Bridge had gone to West Ham, my reaction was that their relegation had become more likely. Not a fan of Bridge either but when did he play PL football last time?
philipl Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Not a fan of Bridge either but when did he play PL football last time? His few appearances for City were spectacularly awful. The guy's confidence must be through the floor through so little play time and such low level of form. More to the point, there are 19 PL teams out there who know exactly how to exploit his weaknesses as a defender and West Ham don't have the players around him who will facilitate Bridge playing to his strengths.
