Arbeloa was great at Liverpool and is a regular starter at Real Madrid now. Benitez transfer record can certainly be held against him, but winning the Champions League (reaching the final two times before that and once after), the UEFA cup and two La Liga titles are all pretty clear signs of a competent manager...

Nothing wrong with the Aquilani deal at all, you're going off the british press like most fans. You dont know the deal with him and if you look at the facts, Aquilani had the most assists from Jan till the end of season, he doesnt take corners or set pieces either.

Robbie Keane wasn't Rafa's signing and we only lost a couple of million on him but it's funny how the media don't give 'Arry stick now that he's selling him after he bought him for 15 million?!

Arbeloa was sold for 6 million? Made money on him? Lucas has been our player of the season so far, he's getting better. Again you're going off the British press, judging him by his debut season.

Johnson, we all know how much an English player costs, just look at Darren Bent? We bough Torres for 2o million.

And its funny how you forget the other players he bought in? Reina for 6 million, now worth easily 25 million. Bought Xabi Alonso for 10 million, sold him for 30 million, already mentioned Arbeloa before. Mascherano?, bought for 15 million, sold for 25 million. Bought Torres for 20 million, well worth double that figure now

Why are you on a Blackburn Rovers forum again? And I'm not going off "the British Press" when judging some of his buys - my Dad's a Liverpool fan and I have seen quite a bit of his sides down through the year, (including the 2005 final in the flesh!) and I can tell you with my own eyes that the majority of them where and are complete crap!

Oh, and HOULLIERS side that won the Champions League was ten times the side that Rafa spent almost £200 million dismantling!

O'Hara returns to football, played 45min on Tuesday against QPR, Warnock is sniffing for a loan deal for him and Woodgate.

Sherwood said:

'Woody was outstanding. He's not played for such a long time, but it was as if he'd never been away."

"Jamie also showed what he's all about and a lot of experienced players in the line-up applied themselves well.'

Silly me!

"Our" and "we" in relation to Liverpool yet you call yourself Darwen End ? Does not compute.

If you're a Blackburn lad who supports Liverpool hang your head in shame as yet another glory hunter.

Three of his signings where in the whole squad...am I missing something?

Who got us into the final with his goal against Chelsea? Luis Garcia!

Who scored from the spot in the final? Xabi Alonso!

Silly comment to make that lad, at the end of the day, Rafa got us through the qualifiers, group stages and knock out stages, Rafa managed the team, no one else.

Remember, Liverpool lost 18 games in 2003/04, compared with 16 last season. And Liverpool finished last season with 63 points, to the 60 of Houllier’s final season. Houllier’s team also never made it as far as a cup semi-final in his final season – and that was with Owen, who left in the summer of 2004 – so there’s little to suggest that Houllier left a better collection of players.

If you use your head, it does.

How?

I think Rafa did more than enough to prove his credentials by turning Inter Milan from a team who had won Serie A 5 times in a row, and a treble last season including the champions league, into a mid table team this year.

Since Leonardo has taken charge of the same team, they are unbeaten and upto 4th in the league.

Moratti didn't have a problem with the results, he knew Rafa had to deal with 13 injured players and they had three games in hand anyway. Rafa left because he didn't get along with Moratti. I don't need to back Rafa up, his record speaks for itself. It isnt easy to win to Spanish league titles when Barca and Real are dominating. He's still being linked with the top jobs in Europe, that says it all

No it's not. But let's not forget that those two weren't dominating at the time. Which top jobs is he being linked with then?
