Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Valencia. Yes they were dominating and have been for a number of years

They were not dominating at all. Take a look at the history books. I haven't heard him linked with any of those jobs other than yours. Any links please?

Who was dominating then? Do your own homework pal, he's a European Champion, he's gonna be linked with the top jobs in Europe no matter what

I genuinely would rather have Kean than Bentiez anywhere near this club. Awful manager, IMO!

Compare Kean's medals to Rafa's. You'd be lucky if he came near your club!

Actually, you are stating he is being linked to Big Jobs in Europe. You need to back this up. I cant recall any articles linking him to any other job, following his sacking at Inter, than the Liverpool job, and that was only due to the fans that still loved/respected him.

How on earth can you say Real Madrid and Barcelona were 'dominating?' For domination, see 'Manchester United.'

He's successfully taken the European Champions from top of their perch to seventh in their domestic league before being sacked. That surpasses the miracle he performed at Anfield the season before.

Rafa and his dodgy press conferences would give me less confidence than Ince.

Just so you understand how little confidence that would be, I would rather Jerome Anderson was given the club than have Ince back.

And do you know how much money Real and Barca had spent? And their wage bill?

We over achieved in 08/09, Arsenal and Chelsea had much bigger squads than ours. People don't seem to see that. The board didn't back him after that, We still haven't replaced Robbie Keane, hopefully our new owners will do that in this window. Benitez had to buy and sell, his net spend in his last two seasons shows that, a total of 2 million, which is not good enough for a club the size of Liverpool

HELLO? Again: Four Champions League finals. One UEFA cup title. Two La Liga titles. If that's the work of an incompetent manager, then who's competent?

That's the work of a manager who is past his sell by date.

He's mentally ######.

Well he did lose it all. He took a team that won the Champions League, spent £230 million on it and in the process helped to create a team that are in free fall and will be lucky to stay in the division this season.

He then took yet another group of European champions and as S15 has pointed out took them to a mighty 7th.

The bloke couldn't spot a quality player if his life depended on it and even when he did manage to sign one he didn't play him and forced him out of the club, i.e. Alonso.

Benetiz is at the heart of all that is wrong with Liverpool FC at present. During his reign he became untouchable in the eyes of the fans, who in turn turned on the owners when things went wrong on the pitch, despite them funding him with almost £100m which he spent on complete crap. The club is now paying and will continue to pay for his reign for a good few years to come.

The Daily Fail don't show how much he recouped?

And again, youre forgetting that a lot of his signings are worth a lot more now.

But he sold a lot of them either because they weren't playing for him, or to buy more crap (still laugh at the 20 million buy of the injured Aquilani just for him to be loaned out a year later).

Our free fall is down to our former Yank owners and no one else. You're acting as if Inter finished 7th?

What did they fund him with? Most of the big signings, which were probably just two or three, Torres and Masch were funded by RBS.

Couldn't spot a quality player? Torres (oh and don't start saying he was already good at Atleti, just compare his goal ratio before) Alonso? Agger? Reina? Garcia? Kuyt? Aurelio? Arbeloa? We had 13 players at the world cup, says a lot about his signings doesnt it?

Facts - http://tomkinstimes.com/2010/06/some-rafa-benitez-facts-and-record/

Firstly, he didn't want to buy Aquilani. He had no choice but to! Purslow said he can only deal with Roma and Pompey cuz they owed us money. So he had to buy him, he was ready to play around November time, fully fit. Again, Purslow got involved and told him not to play him until Jan or else we wouldve had to pay an extra 4 million, which we couldnt afford back then. A lot of you keep saying he was a flop and he couldn't cut it in England. He assisted the most goals from Jan till the end of that season without taking set pieces, it takes time to settle in, ask Wenger, clear examples in Nasri, Pires, Hleb etc. All took time to settle in. He's doing brilliant in Ital right now, probably Juve's player of the season

And you're forgetting that an awful lot are worth less.

Who?

You're argument is so contradicting it's untrue.

If his signings were so good, why did you finish 7th? Aqualini is great, but Benitez didn't want him?

Who?

Aquilani, Johnson, Babel, Kuyt, Lucas...

Let's not forget Keane, Riera, Dossena, Morientes et al were all bought for big money and sold at a loss.

Err, cuz them players weren't around last season? Duh!

People are saying he went and bought and injured player in Aquilani, he had no choice but to buy him as were only allowed to deal with Roma or Pompey, Aquilani was the best about and was showing how good he was once he got playing

We will probs lose 2 million on Aquilani, same with Johnson. We only lost 1 million on Riera and Dossena. Keane wasn't his signing in the first place. It was Rick Parrys. Lucas is probably worth much more than we bought him for? He gets ahead of Anderson (18 million) Ramires (18 million) and Denilson of Arsenal, for the Brazil squad, we only bought him for 5 million. The fact is, Rafa made more profit on his buys than he lost

So which great players weren't around who previously were? I can only think of Alonso, and we all know the deterioration of his relationship with Manuel Benitez that led to his departure...

The facts are there, he's made more on his signings than he's lost.

Alonso, Mascherano, Arbeloa, Riera, still haven't replaced Keane etc.

Main point, he's done the world of good to our academy, the like of Kelly showing now. We have Dani Pachecho coming through and the likes of Suso and Sterling, all thanks to Rafa as pointed out by the King

He bought a new right or left back every bloody window and during that time he sold the best one you had to us for pennys

As for losing only £2m on Johnson....you are aware he cost over £17m. Even Woy knew to play a @#/? RB at RB and not LB like your new saviour ^_^

Torres was club captain when he was barely out of nappies - please don't insult the football intelligence of half the planet by saying Rafa "spotted him".
