cn174 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Lucas is probably worth much more than we bought him for? He gets ahead of Anderson (18 million) Ramires (18 million) and Denilson of Arsenal, for the Brazil squad, we only bought him for 5 million. he barely plays for Brazil though. 7 appearances in 3 years, and didn't go to the World Cup either.

Darwen End Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 He bought a new right or left back every bloody window and during that time he sold the best one you had to us for pennys As for losing only £2m on Johnson....you are aware he cost over £17m. Even Woy knew to play a @#/? RB at RB and not LB like your new saviour Torres was club captain when he was barely out of nappies - please don't insult the football intelligence of half the planet by saying Rafa "spotted him". Torres before Rafa, under Rafa and after Rafa - http://tomkinstimes.com/2010/12/fernando-torres-the-first-16-games-2007-2010/ Ssshhhhh
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Why are all your sources from a Liverpool fansite...oh wait, it's all starting to make sense now

S15 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Read them properly, they give FACTS, nothing biased at all. You should buy his new book too, Pay As You Play, probably knock some sense into you Well it didn't work with you, so...
Amo Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Read them properly, they give FACTS, nothing biased at all. Well said, Rafa!
Darwen End Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 This is a quality read, esp for all the Rafa bashers http://tomkinstimes.com/2010/10/the-truth-on-hicks-benitez%E2%80%99s-spending/ Simple, so simple but most of you can't see it, baffles me
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I've provided you with FACTS on how bloody incompetent Rafa is on and off the field, along with countless others on here. Tell you what, hows about you pop off and come back with some actual facts on how much Rafa made from selling "the quality players" he brought in, i.e. his net transfer spend. In the mean time I'll go and read about the quality our new chicken overlords are bringing into MY football club while you and the other Scousers continue in your fantasies of signing players like Suarez
Valois Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Torres before Rafa, under Rafa and after Rafa - http://tomkinstimes.com/2010/12/fernando-torres-the-first-16-games-2007-2010/ Ssshhhhh I just got an image of that in my head, and it wasn't a pretty sight.

Don't bother.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I'm starting to think he's the author...

XLM Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Didn't think you lot were that articulate tbh. Your choice, a real good insight for once Hmmm. Not really sure what you're trying to get at there, but I never could understand a scouser. The article bases its arguement on "valuations" of players that haven't moved. It isn't as simple as that, to spend that much money you have to build a squad for the future regardless of how much money you could recoup if you were to sell off your assets. And what has happened to your future? Spinning around the bowl.

Going off Sky etc. Our future is looking bright, linked with the likes of Suarez etc is much better than being linked with Cole and Zamora. Hopefully sort our stadium issues out and I have full trust in FSG to make us a team fighting for titles again
AggyBlue Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Well this thread is a waste if space now it's been hijacked. Are the mods on strike?
bep Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Alan Brazil quoted last week on Talk Sport the word in the city is they have no long term plans just bought Liverpool because it was cheap and are already looking to try and sell at profit,so wouldn't build your hopes up just yet.

Hopefully sort our stadium issues out and I have full trust in FSG to make us a team fighting for titles again All managers waste at least some money, Rafa just wasted more than most. And your future doesn't look particularly bright to me. I don't care enough about your club or your fans to discuss this is any more detail.

Listening to TalkSport is like reading The S*n. Alan Brazil knows nothing about our club
bep Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 He seemed to know well in advance about the previous sale so you just keep your head in the sand, or you could accept your just battling for a sixth spot like rest of the also rans.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Good player, young with excellent potential, possible future international. Sort of promising British player we should be looking to sign instead of "marquee" here-today gone-tomorrow has-beens been signings from abroad. Correct.
Valois Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Correct. But most of the targets we are looking at are promising youngster, Rochina, Vasquez, Formica and Nick Powell. Riquelme has been supposedly offered to us by his agent, and listening to Kean on talksport, there will be no Marquee signing until the summer. People seem to be assuming we instagated the interest. Every man and his dog know's Venkys want to make a statement signing, cue agents with an ageing superstar on their books sounding us out. It's all very well saying we should be looking to bring in young British talent, but it's hard to come across at a reasonable cost. Players like Riquelme are luxury signings, and of course I would love to see him at Rovers, there's absolutely no disputing the guy has talent, but just at the moment I think someone like Adam should be a priority. IMO
American Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 People also forget that Rafa finished out of the top 4 twice. Once the first season, once the last, so you can't put it down to the owners. Rafa Beneathus, the best nickname by the Everton supporters.

Hopefully sort our stadium issues out and I have full trust in FSG to make us a team fighting for titles again Haha, I ahve been reading yourposts and you are about as close to winning the title in the next decade as your city rivals. face it Liverpool has come back to the pack and through the legend RAFA are going to be there for a long time to come. Rafa Benitez is the worst supposed high profile manager of all time, he dismantles teams, you say Valencia however it was Cuper's team that he built, you say Liverpool I say it was Houllier's team that he built, RAFA has failed miserably at Inter because unlike previous clubs they had already peaked and he was left dick in hand to try and keep the team progressing which as he proved with Liverpool he is useless. He hasn't the ability to build a team or rebuild a team, so I hope he does end up back at Liverpool.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Carew has gone to Stoke on loan until the end of the season. Decent signing for them if they can keep him fit.
braddock Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 And Stoke have accepted a £3mil bid for Fuller from Sunderland
