Hasta Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Rafa Benitez is the worst supposed high profile manager of all time, he dismantles teams, you say Valencia however it was Cuper's team that he built, you say Liverpool I say it was Houllier's team that he built, RAFA has failed miserably at Inter because unlike previous clubs they had already peaked and he was left dick in hand to try and keep the team progressing which as he proved with Liverpool he is useless. He hasn't the ability to build a team or rebuild a team, so I hope he does end up back at Liverpool. Thanks neekoy. Saves me replying. Rafa set the decline in motion of the last couple of years. Had he been in charge this season they would be in exactly the same position as now.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 £3 million for Fuller?? Christ, and there was me thinking Christmas was the season of giving! Exactly, he would be an amazing signing for £3m, Stoke will have been severely weakened by this.
slough_rover Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 People also forget that Rafa finished out of the top 4 twice. Once the first season, once the last, so you can't put it down to the owners. Rafa Beneathus, the best nickname by the Everton supporters. As much as I dislike Rafa he did win the Champions league in one of the seasons he finished out of the top 4.
gumboots Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 As much as I dislike Rafa he did win the Champions league in one of the seasons he finished out of the top 4. Actually i think Gerrard won it and would have done regardless of manager. oposition thought they had it in the bag and eased off and Gerrard pulled his team through.
BuckyRover Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Sunderland receiving £24m for Bent and buying Fuller for £3m. That sounds like something The Trust would have done.
BiggusLaddus Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Just spotted this on another forum. Briliant, la. http://thumbsnap.com/drqE0Hvu
cn174 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Sunderland receiving £24m for Bent and buying Fuller for £3m. That sounds like something The Trust would have done. Sounds like stuff we did even before the trust too. Selling the likes of of Le Saux and Shearer and buying people like Croft and Per Pedersen There's not much wonder it went a bit pear shaped!!
PAFELL Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Sunderland receiving £24m for Bent and buying Fuller for £3m. That sounds like something The Trust would have done. You think that is daft. Been reported that brad friedal on 40k a week - yet is bankrupt.
speeeeeeedie Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 You think that is daft. Been reported that brad friedal on 40k a week - yet is bankrupt. Yes, but when you owe millions it sort of negates it. I did enjoy old Darwen End trying to defend Liverpool. Benitez spent years buying sh!te, and even trying to replace his best player with Gareth Barry. The ex-owners have some culpability, but their current position is not a false one. I think that most of us acknowledge that we bought some real dross under Harford, Hodgson, and Kidd, that's why we went down. It wasn't Jack Walker's fault.
Valois Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Just showing Kenny Miller been unveiled at Bursaspor stadium. Stand full of fans, ticker tape, the lot. Would think they have just signed Messi, not Miller.

Kai Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Just showing Kenny Miller been unveiled at Bursaspor stadium. Stand full of fans, ticker tape, the lot. Would think they have just signed Messi, not Miller. The Turkish football fans are bonkers in general - the Ankaragucu fans went similarly nuts over Darius Vassell!

Would think they have just signed Messi, not Miller. They have just signed the top scorer in the SPL and who could still finish the season with the SPL Golden Boot Rangers are going to struggle without him.
Darwen End Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 People also forget that Rafa finished out of the top 4 twice. Once the first season, once the last, so you can't put it down to the owners. Rafa Beneathus, the best nickname by the Everton supporters. He was doing fine without the owners, building a steady side, yes we finished outside the top four in his first season but we also went on a very good cup run, getting beat off a very strong Chelsea side in the league cup final and then obviously winning the European Cup. Ask any proper Liverpool fan, they will blame the owners, not Rafa. We knew what they did to our club, all the good work Rafa did will come good in the future, especially one name, Suso! Yes, but when you owe millions it sort of negates it. I did enjoy old Darwen End trying to defend Liverpool. Benitez spent years buying sh!te, and even trying to replace his best player with Gareth Barry. The ex-owners have some culpability, but their current position is not a false one. If you go back and do your homework, Rafa was gonna play Barry WITH Alonso. Barry said this in an interview later when he joined City. Jack Walker was a good owner but made some ###### decisions like choosing Atkins over Zidane. That's what Purslow did, he chose Joe Cole when Rafa wanted Chamakh

Darwen End Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Haha, I ahve been reading yourposts and you are about as close to winning the title in the next decade as your city rivals. face it Liverpool has come back to the pack and through the legend RAFA are going to be there for a long time to come. Rafa Benitez is the worst supposed high profile manager of all time, he dismantles teams, you say Valencia however it was Cuper's team that he built, you say Liverpool I say it was Houllier's team that he built, RAFA has failed miserably at Inter because unlike previous clubs they had already peaked and he was left dick in hand to try and keep the team progressing which as he proved with Liverpool he is useless. Get over your one league title, why couldnt you build on it? What have you on since? Don't try and compare Blackburn to Liverpool, our history speaks for itslef

What have you on since? Don't try and compare Blackburn to Liverpool, our history speaks for itslef 2002 League cup, thanks very much. All managers, even good ones, have a shelf life, some longer than others. Rafa had clearly expired at Liverpool and you weren't going anywhere whilst he remained in charge. The big club attitude gets you nowhere. Football is littered with the wrecks that result from it. We are punching above our weight and proud of it. I'll venture you wouldn't be saying the same. I'll take that over the constantly dimming glories of the increasingly distant past if it's all the same with you. Or if we're doing the history thing, come back when you've won the FA Cup three times in a row
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Why do you say things that aren't true? Constantly?! Because if he spoke the truth then he'd have to admit that Rafa is indeed ######!
modes98 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 You can't run a successful team if you do what he did, which is turnover players like they were going out of fashion. A quiet offseason would see 10 transactions which is high. After the Rafalution you were left with 2 very good players and a lot of rubbish. He wasn't, isn't and won't be one of the best managers around, god knows why you gave him time as there was only 1 place he was taking you and it wasn't up, as proven by this season and you can't put all that at the door of Woy, he had very little time and money to put his stamp on the team. Much like the CL winning team which wasn't really Rafa's, not to take away from the achievement which was remarkable.

Mascherano? Aquilani? Insua? And a number of youngsters who are coming through. Rafa had to buy and sell to make money, for example buy Crouch and sell him for more just like he did with Bellamy. Roy had enough time, nearly 30 games, our football was poor and getting beat off the likes of Northampton and Blackpool at home is simply not good enough. He had to go! He literally got Blackburn relegated with his poor start to the season with the second most expensive squad in the league at the time.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Please feel free to use the following link I think I speak for the majority of members on here when I say that you're more than welcome here like the fans of other teams on here like Tom and ffan. However if you continue to spew such nonsense as you have in here over the past few days then please take it elsewhere. It's quite obvious that you think that the sun shines out of Rafas arse and that's fine by me, but please try and keep it to yourself on a BRFC site. Sorry to everyone if I'm sounding like a mod and standing on peoples toes but my patience is wearing thin.
