Goal.com player rating comments David Bentley:

"No replacement for want away Sebastian Larsson on this display. Failed to extract himself from Evra's attention. Time collecting dust in Spurs' reserves seems to have not been cleared. Substituted late on for Gardner."

I'm sure he will come good but the longer it takes the better, points wise. :)

And Larsson:

"Wantaway Swede was booed by travelling support when he replaced Fahey on 64 minutes. Did nothing to correct relationship with fans."

Nice one Seb, see you in the Blues bar soon. ;)

Its like savage all over again :-)

Hmm. It's not overly different now the reserve league now where most of the players are youth players anyway.

Also, whether or not the FA will carry through on thier promises is another thing. The last 'youth revolution' created the Academies kind of as they are now, there used to be a u17 and u19 team within the academies, but the the FA pulled quite a lot of the funding and it turned into u18s league.

Probably stolen from the Bernabéu or San Siro.....

At least Man U, Bayern, Ajax, Barca and Inter can show something else in their trophy cabinet when they don't win on away goals in Europe.

It is laughable you compare yourselves to Rovers, just goes how far you have come down the tree when you don't hold a candle to the clubs on paper are seen as your equals in stature.

You really do need to make your way down to Anfield and take a Stadium and Museum tour. Not many you have mentioned can match us. Wasn't comparing the our clubs at all, in fact I told you lot not to but all you can talk about is your league title, onlt fair if I mention our European cups :)

Pure football debate? Ok. The worst Liverpool side I have ever seen, let by Rafa, good purchases were Rafa but the bad ones someone else, read that back to yourself again. He went to Inter, league champions for the previous three seasons and left them in what position before he was fired? Was that the Yanks fault too? The fact that this has descended into Liverpool better than Blackburn debate should tell you all you need to know about Liverpool, would a Barca, man Utd, Chelsea, Real fan do this? Ofcourse not as they are a truly big clubs, Liverpool are now behind five clubs in England, big club? Ok.

The same Rafa who got us closest to our league title in 20 years? The same Rafa who beat Real Madrid, Barca and Inter all on their own patch? Again, he wasn't 'fired' for footballing reasons, Leonardo admitted himself Rafa left him with a good team in a good condition? You're acting as if the seasons coming to and end? They were seventh with three games in hand. the only reason you lot TRY to compare yourselves to us is cuz you won a league title? what if you hadn't won that? And we are a big club and always will be and there is nothing you can do about it

I can't believe I am being told this - by a Liverpool supporter - on MY club's message board.

Ditto the Premier League Trophy at Ewood.

You just don't get it, do you? We don't CARE what Liverpool has won. No problem about debating Liverpool's current situation up to a point though.

Oh, and in case you haven't cottoned on, we are in the process of 'taking back the Darwen End'. You are unlikely to continue to be given the whole of it for Liverpool's matches at Ewood for much longer.

Yawn

Ha ha, okay! We'll see how far you get with that, can't fill it with the cheapest tickets in the league!

Wolves are awful easy to see why they are so low in the table.

Yeah go say that to Fergie who just about beat them at home, to Carlo who got beat off them, to Mancini, who just about won last week. To Mr. Wenger who had his keeper to thank for the three points. No game is easy, especially when its away from home. WE made it look easy, also easy on the eye with the last goal, 31 passes in total. Kenny's doing things the Liverpool way, pass and move.

Wolves were awful today, not made to look bad just awful.

Just shows how the once mighty have fallen when you see how cocky some scouse fans are after beating the team who are second bottom.

By the way is there any point in you being here or are you just trying to wind people up?

Nah, we outplayed them mate. Funny, with literally the same team, only 24 days ago, we got beat off them at home. Just shows Roy was out of his depth.

You have your say, I have my say. I've said it before, I'll say it again, if you don't like my post, ignore them. Why would I want to wind you lot up? If I was that sad, I would've joined a Manc board? We all have opinions, about time people started respecting each others

Fair do's and fair response.

I still think Wolves were just bad though and someone of Torres' class should be a matchwinner alone.

That Meireles looks a good signing by Kenny :P

Confidence is a huge factor. It's plain to see that your team did not want to play for Roy and had lost all confidence. Torres has got his swagger back, he's chasing down balls and looking like he wants to see the ball all of the time. Why didn't he do that under Roy? Simple question bit for some reason he didn't look interested.

I dont really think the tactics have changed massively under kenny but the players want to play for him. That appears to be the main difference to me.

Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Spurs on home soil are bigger than Liverpool now, Real, Barca, Inter, Milan, Munich are too, so the mighty Liverpool are not even in the top 10 any more. Look at the squad it is the worst squad in living memory, average players everywhere. Rafa left Inter in seventh with three games in hand, where would they have ended up IF they had won those games, compare to previous three seasons and he left them in a state, your right about what Leonardo said, it is a great squad- Joses squad, look what Rafa did to it. Best line was Millito after winning the the cup under Rafa he dedicated the trophy to Jose not Rafa!

Just let any player under 21 or 23 move to any club on loan without any silly restrictions i.e. Young player can't move to club C because he's already appeared for club A and B this season. Surely having any restrictions on youngsters playing is going to harm the game.

Very good signing by Roy but he played out of position most of the time, wide right :s

True! I don't think it was that they didn't want to play for him, I think it was because they didn't fit into his style of, there's no chance in hell Torres would've scored two tap ins under Roy. We passed the ball so well yesterday, under Roy, Torres had to fight for long balls hoofed up to him all game.

Tactics have changed, we are far higher up the pitch and we put pressure on the opposition, where as under Roy, we were sat much deeper and were inviting teams on to us.

So if Blackburn finish ahead of Spurs this season they'll be the bigger club in your eyes?

Nah, best line was when Rafa dedicated the World Club Championship to everyone, including us Liverpool fans but not the Inter President :) Inter fans loved Rafa

When Spurs finish 4th and then the following season are in the CL and top their group, that makes them a bigger club. They used to live off their prior history but not any more. Live in the present not the past.

Bless Rafa who do you dedicate a win to when no one at the club likes you? Well you dedicate it to delusional Liverpool fans who think your a god because you signed Torres!

So you still sticking to your line that Rafa left Inter in a good position?

Love to see you provide some evidence that Inter fans "loved" Rafa once he'd left.

Not that I like getting into the "bigger" club nonsense because there is no actual criteria, but this isn't true. It makes them a better club, not a bigger one.

The banner read: “Benitez: A sincere thanks from us, the only ones who always backed you.” That good enough for you?

Ha ha, We are the biggest club in England, United come close. Chelsea don't come near us! And Arsenal! Don't get me started on Spurs and City! Remember, football didn't start when Sky Sports started

Differing opinions, doesn't make it a fact.

Would you class Nottingham Forest as a bigger club than Spurs? They have won the European cup twice? Spurs have been consistent in the league for the last 5 years, the majority of which in the top 5, young up and coming team, possibly moving into a bigger stadium, 30K season ticket holders on a waiting list. How many Liverpool players would get into the Spurs team? Id struggle with more than three.

Indeed.

If you base it on the all time top division league table Man Utd are top and Liverpool are second. (Blackburn 11th)

All you're doing is projecting with this 'big club' ###### because your club has gone down the crapper and looks a million miles away from ever winning the league.

You really wouldn't be here if it wasn't the case.

Thats one, there are hundreds more, but you stick with your single banner

Bar Spurs every team that I listed has won their league title in the last TWENTY years. United come close, that is just about the funniest thing that I have read on this message board- it says something when SAF does not bother mentioning Liverpool as a rival!

WE are the sole reason Fergie hasn't left Man Utd. He wants to knock us off our perch, only matched us on 18 league titles. Still two European Cups to go. He also wants to match Paisley who won three European Cups.

One banner doesn't represent one person you daft ######. Read this article, and it's not one of your silly Googled links

Can I just remind people that this thread is about 2010-2011 Premier League happenings!! Who has won most trophies or who is a bigger club (which is a stupid concept anyroad as the media reckon Brum are a big club!) is irrelevant!

So my link from the respected Football Italia is poor in comparison to a random blog on the Internet... ok.

I think you are still high on the fumes of the great win against... Wolves yesterday. I am sure after another three wins you will be championship contenders again! I take it all back, you are the greatest ever, defeating all that's in front of you... bar Blackburn ofcourse.

I'm not making a comment about their opinions or what they've said. None of us know how it was meant or anything so I'm not going to bother pretending I do...

But it has to be said that Andy Gray is the best pundit around, to say he wouldn't be missed is a bit silly, compare his analysis to Lawrenson or Townsend. There's no contest.

[EDIT] Erm... my post no longer makes sense. Pretend you're reading this in the Gray and Keys thread.

Thought id give my two pence worth on a few points from this weekend!

Motd2 was cringeworthy... How can Lawro sit on a programme on national tv looking like that, not very professional. Lee Dixon i used to rate his comments but its true what they say, you lose your knowledge when your away from the game... Describing Hoilett as Fabregas esque was an insult to Hoilett imo it showed a lack of research about the player.

As for the blackpool and blackburn mix up well the names sound the same to southern fairies...easy mistake!

The commentry was behind, he was talking about an incident about rovers scoring while wba were down the other end! The timing of his commentry was poor, he wasn't clear and it felt like ahh its two small teams give them some crappy reporter etc.

Analysis on our player, must have been because they didnt watch the match or didnt want to discuss two small teams.!

Female linesman well the females have there own game which they can officaite... but thats not the point. I felt the lass in question did a cracking job and thoroughly has the support of players and key people in the game... Keys and Gray are old school and its about time for a change however isnt Andy Gray suing the NOTW over phone tapping? Murdoch owns Sky Sports so perhaps this was some kind of reminder of who's boss!

Ian Holloway as much as he was a breath of fresh air! hes getting on my nerves and is starting to become a bore with his moaning out bursts! Hope the team stay up and maybe this is his way of defleting the spotlight off his team, but his rants are becoming tedious now. Anyone else agree?
