gumboots Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Surely it's better for us that United beat Blackpool? It is, and I explain that principle to my husband every time there's a match involving teams below us. However, Utd looked so hopeless first half that I found myself hoping too that Blackpool would be able to hold on.

BuckyRover Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 West Ham lead 3-1 on aggregate. Expect the media to have a collective East End love in should the Hammers reach the final. I hope Arsenal hammer them
philipl Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Brum do look painfully weak. Larsson is only about some good dead ball deliveries on this showing.
Eddie Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 It is, and I explain that principle to my husband every time there's a match involving teams below us. However, Utd looked so hopeless first half that I found myself hoping too that Blackpool would be able to hold on. We've had these discussions before on here and I always fail to understand why any Rovers supporter would like to see a smaller team beat a big one. I'd be delighted if Chelsea, United and Arsenal won every game from here on in. Blackpool beating United last night would have meant nothing to me in 6 months, but at the end of the season those extra 3 points may have pushed them above us.
Eddie Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Fulham have just scored one of the more ridiculous own goals you will see in a long time.
Valois Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Classic own goal by Pantsil at Anfield. He's only gone to try and clear it, and sliced it into his own net. Worth a watch on the highlights after the Carling Cup game.
Backroom Tom Posted January 26, 2011 Author Backroom Posted January 26, 2011 Like at weekend as enjoyable as it is to see Liverpool fail I would rather teams like Fulham carry on getting 0 points so a Liverpool win would be good for us IMO, a draw would be as well. This semi is a no win situation for me, I hate both these teams equally.
XLM Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 This semi is a no win situation for me, I hate both these teams equally. All I was hoping for was a long game with sendings off. Anything that weakens them both. The Premier League would be a better place without these two horrible clubs.
Backroom Tom Posted January 26, 2011 Author Backroom Posted January 26, 2011 Green is awful, he made a decent save earlier but just let in a really soft goal IMO. Seb Larrson just gone off, didn't show anything that we currently lack IMO rather Hoilett anyday. He'd be OK as a Diouf replacement I suppose but Brum wont sell if they are in the final
Valois Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Green is awful, he made a decent save earlier but just let in a really soft goal IMO. It dipped a bit, but he still should have definitely saved it. He reminds me of a garden gnome for some reason.
67splitscreen Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Larsson 40kpw??? just to fill a squad place ?.
Backroom Tom Posted January 26, 2011 Author Backroom Posted January 26, 2011 Awful refereeing, Cameron Jerome boots the ball away in anger - no booking, Carlton Cole angrily bounces the ball - yellow card. Nice consistency Howard.
Darwen End Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Should've been a goal up before half time to be honest, lino called it wrong when Torres finished. Where's Sian when you need her. Not the best performance, right result. Another clean sheet, Stoke at home next with a couple of new signings hopefully. Things are looking good
AggyBlue Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Larsson 40kpw??? just to fill a squad place ?. Played like a poor mans Pedersen tonight
jim mk2 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Exactly my thoughts - except that is insulting to Pedersen who is a different league as a footballer compared to Larsson. A poor man's Beckham would be a better comparison because from what I saw last night Larsson is good at taking free-kicks and corners and not much else. The lad cannot play play football.
Hughesy Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 The more I see of Larsson and the more that our young wing wizards (Olsson & Hoilett) improve, the less interested in Larsoon I become. I think if we go and add someone like Formica then there isnt really a need/ space for Larsson.
philipl Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 But Larsson has a good agent. I cannot see any other reason for signing him.

Eddie Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 But Larsson has a good agent. I cannot see any other reason for signing him. You do realise that he has recently changed his agent? what? poor mans Pedersen, really I certainly think that MGP is the much better player. He has his critics on here and he always will, but his work ethic alone is useful to any side. It is often overlooked how often he gets back to cover, even when playing in a wide role and that more then makes up for the number of times he misplaces a pass.

Hughesy Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 SSN confirms Larsson has been added to cash for Curtis Davies!
LeChuck Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 SSN confirms Larsson has been added to cash for Curtis Davies! Not sure that will tempt Villa, they've got good wide players already. He's nowhere near as good as Albrighton.
