Valois Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 All pretty good results for Rovers so far. Anelka has been absolutely outstanding for Chelsea tonight, playing for his place you feel, Torres might have to settle for the bench against his former club at the weekend. Can add a goal to his outstanding performance, icing on the cake. Who needs Torres.
NookRover Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 http://bit.ly/gyKexs February's calendar image for Newcastle fans is Andy Carroll Funniest thing I've heard all day, even trumps the Scousers trying to convince us Carroll is better than Torres!

BuckyRover Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Apparently Al Habsi means "stopper" in Arabic
NookRover Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Assuming the WBA Wigan game stays 2 - 2 thats a good set of results for us tonight!
Valois Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Every club could do with a Torres. And the award for stating the bloody obvious goes to....
Backroom Tom Posted February 1, 2011 Author Backroom Posted February 1, 2011 Perfect set of results for us tonight, cou;dn't have gone better! 8 points away from the dropzone with a game in hand
brfcshabba Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Assuming the WBA Wigan game stays 2 - 2 thats a good set of results for us tonight! Good result that, 5 bookings for Wigan, wonder if any of them mean a suspension
slough_rover Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 And the award for stating the bloody obvious goes to.... Me after you win the award for winning cliche of the year award after stating 'who needs Torres' after Anelka has had a good game.
BuckyRover Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I would be a bit scared to play Torres. The sight of him being crunched by Skrtel would make me wince if I was Roman. I still think he will play and score though. My guess is that he will look like the Torres of a couple of years ago. He will have a smile on his face and look dangerous.
Valois Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Me after you win the award for winning cliche of the year award after stating 'who needs Torres' after Anelka has had a good game. Wow thanks, bit early in the year to be handing out annual awards though. Maybe cliche of the month.
jimw1988 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Anyone see moyes interview? odd for him to come out and give out about fabregas in the tunnel! wenger saw nothing of course!
Commondore Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Hey, in my view Liverpool will have the better deal in all this. Torres is not worth 50 mill and carrol is also not worth 35mill. But liverpool will get a new player as a replcement for torres plus 15 mill. if Torres goes for 50 and carrol comes for 35. There maybe be off field probs with Carrol -but I think there is more potential with Carrol (spelling0 I agree that Liverpool needed a replacement for Torres, but a problem-burden, injured, more or less untried Andy Carroll? For such a ridiculous amount?
brian_gallagher85 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Anyone see moyes interview? odd for him to come out and give out about fabregas in the tunnel! wenger saw nothing of course! I wonder if Moyes saw how far offside Saha was for their goal, sweet lord you could have driven a bus through there!
jimw1988 Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I wonder if Moyes saw how far offside Saha was for their goal, sweet lord you could have driven a bus through there! True true ........i think he called it em.... "lucky" Goals like that always remind me of the liverpool one against us a few years back! Dam you Cisse!
benhben Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Steven Warnock´s situation at Villa is terrible. He hasn´t been even named on bench lately and there wasn´t great interest shown to him during the window. There was talk about Pool and Nicko mentioned late talks with Wigan but there he still is at Villa. He can share memories with Shorey what it felt like to be almost good enough for England. Did Wham even try to get rid of Benni? Still no goals for the current club and there are about dozen strikes ahead of him now. Not happy days for two ex-Ewood heroes. Cant really believe Warnocks fall from grace. Was one of our outstanding performers. Seems to happen to about 70% of players who leave Rovers, end up moving their careers backwards. Out of interest who has left Rovers in the last 10 years and done well. I bet its not many. Bellamy - Did well for a while Duff - Did well for a while, then lost it, not doing ok again Friedel - Class keeper, would do well in any team struggling to think of any more.

I was thinking the same ealier. Very few do better once they've left. Shearer? Aside from Patrik Andersson I'd say Simon Barker did well for QPR.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 You could argue David May did well, Henning Berg certainly did. Graham Le Saux, Chris Sutton eventually.
Mattyblue Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 David May did very well at getting his mug on all the photos with trophies despite playing about 50 games in 8 years.
Hughesy Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 RSC did the best - he ended up going back to the best club in the world
benhben Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 How could I forget about Shearer! Shay Given also became a top keeper after leaving us.
67splitscreen Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Burger boy misses out on WHU 25 man ssquad and turns down 1m pay off for his contract. Didn't he do well!, and how well Sam did getting shut for all that lovely ££ whoevers pckets it lined.
Andy3809 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 How could I forget about Shearer! Shay Given also became a top keeper after leaving us. We always knew he was a good keeper and going to do well when he left though. He just couldn't get a game and was too good to sit on the bench. I think we treated him well by letting him go easily and rightly so. Could find ourselves in the same position with the progress of Bunn. Not going to replace Robinson any time soon yet could be number one at half a dozen prem teams.

Didn't he do well!, and how well Sam did getting shut for all that lovely ££ whoevers pckets it lined. And Sam received a lot of abuse on here for that decision!
