Sysagent Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Robinson, Salgado, Samba ©, Nelsen, Givet, MB Diouf, Jones, Nzonzi, Pedersen, EH Diouf, Kalinić. Subs: Bunn (GK), Olsson, Emerton, Benjani, Andrews, Chimbonda, Hoilett Well that's not exactly an "Earth Shattering" team selection there is it...

Mr. E Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 We need Olsson, dammit. He is our only midfielder that can really create something from open play. Stubborn Sam, very, very stubborn.
tonyoz Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Yehhhhhhhhhhh! Keith's back (almost)!!! Soon we'll have something other than the take-over to argue about again.
Blue blood Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Other than Grella being injured no changes. I realise it's hard to make changes to a successful team, but surely last week's performance gave Sam the reason/opportunity to make changes. Think we're shoe-horning in two players at the moment Jones as defensive mid and Diouf 2 aas a winger, as neither seem fully suited to the role. I can understand Jones against a team that plays 3 up front and with N'Zonzi as his partner but really don't think Diouf 2 should be on the wing as he seems to be a goal poacher rather than anything else. Think Holliet as an impact sub could have a good day against Blackpool's defence. Hopefully he and Olsson will make it onto the pitch at some point today.
Nelsta Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Just seen on sky that we have never beaten blackpool in the top flight. Here's hoping for a change to that.....but knowing rovers i'll say 3-0 blackpool.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Watch Pedersen play a blinder now, but he has been really really poor the last 3 games and yet he keeps his place? He must be in the side for his long throws, only reason why i can see him being still in the side.
Mr. E Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 100% goal for Samba, not a single thing wrong with that. Robbed.
philipl Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 As I predicted, we would have a perfectly good goal struck off for a non-existant foul on the keeper.
Stuart Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Not conceding a goal should be the priority for any manager, in any league isn't it? He's probably realistic enough to know that we aren't actually full of goals ourselves, as well. As for a 1-0 win, well I'm sure he would take that, as would I. It simply doesn't follow that Allardyce wouldn't take 3 or 4 nil. You've missed the point Den. The inference from Sam's statement is if we concede, we won't win!
Nelsta Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Goal, charlie adams own goal...yayyyyyyyy, Bugger he's in my fantasy team.
DanLad Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Just read some interesting stats on the BBC's web coverage of today's game... • Blackburn's Michel Salgado has won more tackles than anyone else in the league this season. • Rovers have only won five of 31 Premier League away games under Sam Allardyce, but have lost just one of the last six. • Blackburn have failed to manage more than 38% possession in their last three games.
philipl Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Goal had been coming as the pressure mounted.
BuckyRover Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 38% possession. That is why we can't win games.
Miker Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Olsson and Hoilett should be starting, imo. Olsson has only recently gotten over his injury. Also, the two Dioufs should definitely be starting as their form has been really impressive so far.
Andy Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Ahead again, great headed finish by the way. Just a case of whether we can now go on and finish the opposition off or are we going to just allow them to adapt their tactics and get back into the game...?
Stuart Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Forget Fergie time, we're now in Big Sam time. That horrible stomach churning period between going a goal up and winning 1-0. Come on Rovers!
den Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 You've missed the point Den. The inference from Sam's statement is if we concede, we won't win! Nah, not having that Jisty. Don't concede is the first aim for any PL team - can't argue with that. The inferences are from Mr Jisty. Anyway, if we don't concede, we'll win.
