Hughesy Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Has anyone heard if any kind of tribute will be made for John Taylor at the Stoke game on Saturday? No. It isnt a year yet is it? More likely on the anniversary surely?
Davenport Nice Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 No. It isnt a year yet is it? More likely on the anniversary surely? I didn't know John but was there at Stoke on the day, and just felt it would have been nice to pay some sort of tribute. Saying that, I'm sure his family and mates have a tribute in place whenever they feel appropriate.
riverside returns Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 his brother and father are attending and as far as am aware they are going to do some sort of tribute for him!
blue/white Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 his brother and father are attending and as far as am aware they are going to do some sort of tribute for him! Pass along our regards to his family, RR. I didn't know John, but his death has shaken all Rovers. Forever.
Wilky Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Pass along our regards to his family, RR. I didn't know John, but his death has shaken all Rovers. Forever. what have i missed again?
CrazyIvan Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 what have i missed again? Read the Stoke Preview, it's at the top...
riverside returns Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 will do BW and I agree with sentiments on the preview, should be a minutes applause or silence in memory of what was a tragic accident.

Without wanting to appear insensitive, is that what happened an accident? Have the full facts now been estblished? The stories circulating at the time suggested that charges may result?
RIML Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Without wanting to appear insensitive, is that what happened an accident? Have the full facts now been estblished? The stories circulating at the time suggested that charges may result? No, no one was charged. Insufficient evidence.
Stuart Ripley Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 don't let this turn into a rumours thread, especially at such a sensitive time for the family. it was an accident end of. I don't think I could ever return to that place after what happened. going Palace QPR instead RIP John
Backroom Tom Posted October 2, 2010 Backroom Posted October 2, 2010 No. It isnt a year yet is it? More likely on the anniversary surely? This may come across as horribly insensitive but why? What happened was tragic especially for his young son but rovers have paid their respects at the time. It was an accident but one cause by lack of caution by our fans and I imagine the club preffered it to be forgot about quietly. The best tribute to him would be to make sure nothing like this happens again but that's an almost impossible task no matter how good the policing at games. I hope his young son is doing well but he'll never be able to fill a hole sadly.

The best tribute to him would be to make sure nothing like this happens again but that's an almost impossible task no matter how good the policing at games. I hope his young son is doing well but he'll never be able to fill a hole sadly. Why? Because he was killed following Blackburn Rovers. If he hadn't been he would still be alive. It is good and correct that the club recognise this.
Backroom Tom Posted October 2, 2010 Backroom Posted October 2, 2010 The club did recognise this the following home game. Maybe another fan tribute would be appropriate but the club have done more than enough. Blackburn Rovers are not to blame for his death as tragic as it was. Edit: I'm really sorry if my comments have upset anyone it wasn't the intention
Hughesy Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 TCO - I can see where your coming from, and agree to be honest. Yes it was a grave shame, but how many Rovers fans have died on Ewood from heart-attacks or whatever, we dont honour them every year do we.
