Its his nickname.

I have no idea why or what.

I remember him saying in an interview that his mother wanted to call him Daryl but couldn't.

He never gave a reason as to why she couldn't.

He looks an awkward player, the way he "hops" around the pitch, abit like Aaron Mokoena. Still not sure what he can provide to the team. Probably can throw him in the cup tie to see more of him.

to be completely honest, from what I have seen of this guy so far I have concoluded 3 things;

1. He would have suited the Allardyce way of playing (big fella to stick in the box for freekicks/throwins/corners)

2. He doesnt look ilke much of a "player" and wont fit into the new style

3. There is perhaps a reason he was available on a free. He doent seem good enough

I would love to stand corrected in the next few months.

Hasn't made any impact so far, but it is still early days. I thought someone of his size and stature would be rampaging across the pitch. He actually looked quite lightweight.

he's been less than impressive in his fleeting appearances so far.. my 1st impression...

built like a boxer and unfortunately plays like 1!
