[Archived] Rovers Takeover

Recommended Posts

I havent posted on here for a few days now, but if you guys are happy with this Kentaro being part of the bid, then you are freaking mad.

What is the idea of having new owners? The idea is to invest in players, who will ultimately take the club forward, and hopefully bring success. What it looks like to me, is that they(Kentaro) will bring in the best young players(great, no problem with that), however, if they do well, then off they go to Manchester United, Chelsea, Madrid etc. We once again become a selling club, where we are forced to sell our players.

At the moment, with no investment and while we are in the hands of the trust, the idea to sell our best players, to fund new players is all we can do right now.

The trust and all the fans need to ask themselves this question, why do we have an academy that is beginning to flourish with some good youngsters coming through? Despite his style of football, there is no doubting that Sam is the reason, that there are more youngsters coming through the ranks. Not only that, they have become part of the 1st team squad which means that the academy has done something right. What we need right now, is not more youngsters, and especially foreign youngsters. What we need right now, is a bit of experience up front and some creativity in midfield. We cant afford unproven youngsters, because we are not in a position right now to take a risk like that.

Its clear as daylight, that the VH group are here to make a profit, that is not going to happen, and that is a very worrying part of this group.

Syed Ali on the other hand, if he can answer to all those questions which are hanging over his head, and he can assure the trust that, he is not in it to make money then surely with his 15 year plan, will be the better option.

We got to be careful with this VH group and bringing in Kentaro, as it just seems we will go from a Selling club with no owners, to a selling club with owners. There will be no difference, and to me, we might as well continue as we are doing right now.

All speculation with zero knowledge.

Iceman, I think VH/Kentaro have already convinced the Trust of whatever they had to, be it making money or not. I doubt that the Trust would ask any future owner not to MAKE money. Its mostly about the model of making money and maybe this one is believable and realistic according to the Trust.

This is what happened under Mark Hughes, and I very much enjoyed the years when he was in charge.

If the takeover means we go from being a selling club to a trading club, with the financial clout to bring in some very promising players rather than complete punts, then good.

What you are forgetting, is that the owners would want Rovers to do well. After all the indian company are looking for growth in India etc. They are not going to want to be the first indian company to own a premiership club, for it to then fail.

they will want the best players to come to the club, this helps league positions etc, and yes sell for a profit. Knowing that there would be another player in its ranks to replace the one sold.

Iceman, no offence but all know about what Syed had planned was from his own hot air through the media. We know he has been in talks over three months and hasn't convinced the trust.

VH have about their business very professionaly...we have only had their name for just a few weeks!

Finally even Man Utd are a selling club :)

VH cannot possibly be in this to make a profit out of Rovers in the conventional sense.

Let's wait until more details emerge.

I cannot believe for a moment that the Trust and JW have bought into the sort of stuff I have been hearing about Kentaro's involvement and intentions. The fact the Trust are in the process of selling to Venky's in the knowledge of Kentaro's involvement means that what I have got must be wrong.

Agreed, let's wait and see. Now it is in the open we might get some more information from the club about the future plans.

I will be pretty surprised if Rovers make an announcement tomorrow.

face_palm.jpg

You are a journalist remember. Not even Tribal are picking this up.

A pretty good journalist with the looks of it - AGAIN!

Well put it this way,

If the club say anything more than that, I'll eat a copy of The Mirror.

Best get eating....can you record it & put it on youtube please??

Two possibles:

1. Statement saying that VH have the exclusive now.

2. Statement confirming that they are 'talking' to other parties.

2 possibles both wrong!

LT have about 4 pages of this today – including full front page & page 2 & also back page with Gally & Garner.

Turns out the press release was last night so the cabbie man was correct & Nicko’s info was spot on….as for Philips ‘il be very surprised’ – well lets just put it down as another Alonso moment eh Chicken!

Abit more from the LT….

Venky’s are worth around £1bn, they have a turnover of £1bn & according to the 09-10 account make around £118m profits per year.

It mentions that Blackburn’s large Asian population as one reason, aswell as the fact they feel Asia is untapped. It also mentions that they do not know the investment level, however it is not believed to be the same sort of £300m that Syed was talking about.

JW Confirms that meetings with the premier league have now taken place & that everything is more or less done – just a case of final discussions.

Venkys ‘We expect to be the first Indian company to acquire a premier league team and we are particular delighted that the team is Blackburn Rovers, with whom we believe we have many shared values and ambitions.

Interesting that investment will be less than what Syed had stated he would be investing, yet the club are leaning towards these guys. You can read into that and make assumptions.

Maybe investment will be less due to no expansion of Ewood Park and maybe they will sign cheap young talent (like it was suggested through the agency) and sell for a big profit ?

Well we all knew there is LITTLE point in increasing our attendance yet...so that saves some cash.

Then if the plan in the future is sign young talent, sell for big bucks - yes it may cost to set up at first but after 5 years or so it should become self sufficient if its working.

It says Rovers have been impressed by their credentials…..it also makes a point of saying Syed ‘CLAIMED’ he would invest £300m

Out of interest when does the crown deal end?

Are we likely to see the VH logo on rovers shirts in the future as a way to maximise publicity potential?

Yep, spot on. Syed spent a lot of time saying what people wanted to hear but ultimatley did little to back up his claims. If he was a multi bilionaire and everything was as he said then he could have purchased the club months ago.

BPF/Hughesy/Philip can you confirm a couple of things

1. Have the VH group and delegates been to see the EPL today it was stated on here earlier if so how long do you think it will take to approve them?.

2. Has Syed's group been to the EPL or are they just behind & still has to be done?.

I also have to agree can all the posters slagging Nicko/Philip/BPF off just pack it in if you think they are feeding us stuff that satisfies their own ends fair enough that is your opinion. But for myself & others who constantly views these boards these people are a wealth of information. More often than not these people majority of the time get these things right. As has been said on many occasions dealing with members of a trust is highly complicated so it makes the nature of the beast highly unlikely to get things right every time, but they should not be criticised for passing on information of what they hear. That is plain wrong and the reason why Kamy & others have been chased of this board unfairly. Rant over!.

A lot of the "slagging" is between 2 of the posters you are trying to protect!

Well that's it then. Nothing so far has been as remotely positive as this.VH it is. A new era dawns for our great club! :tu:

This takeover should excite us all - football has changed, and small clubs like us need a new model. This could be it. I guess it all depends whether you're a glass half full or half empty person how you'll view it.

Me - COYB!!!!!!

Let's sing Uncle Jack's name from start to finish on Saturday, see you on the Darwen End :)

End of the season Crown deal ends.

Don’t forget the ‘Walkersteel’ sponsorship of the Riverside is still up for grabs too.

We also do not have a radio contract anymore.

Also not sure if Umbro ends in the summer too?
