Torgeir Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Hopefully that would mean that Grella, Chimbonda, Andrews and Roberts will go. For the left back position, what about Enquire from newcastle? BS sign him for them 4 years ago. Enrique is a good specialist left back, would slot straight into our team. Smashing our transfer record on Babel. Dear God. Who said anything about Babel? It's Akon. Let us rejoice. Senegal Rovers

HairwayToSteven Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 N'Zogbia is a fantastic player, and has been consistently good this season. I would be over the moon if we could land him.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Where does this leave Martin Olsson? Our future left back? Eek!
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Nzogbia - good player but just don't see why we would blow our money on a left winger when we have Diouf/Hoilett and Olssen that can play there. If he's being brought in for the right hand side, surely its square pegs in round holes again. For me, if we're splashing £7-8 million it would be better spent on a proven striker or a quality playmaker. Strange Now if we ae planning on buying N'zogbia + quality striker + playmaker then that would be happy days!!

Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 You mean as has been confirmed? Got me there, too cryptic for me! Are you being cynical about mr Nixon again?
ada2020 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Got me there, too cryptic for me! Are you being cynical about mr Nixon again? I think he's referring to nickos earlier post confirming your wish list.
blue/white Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Tevez wants a pay rise. End of. That's lunacy. Cracking player, but I'm afraid he's lost the plot, Nicko.
beerwins Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 As good as Nzogbia is and would improve our team that is not where our weakness lies, ask ten fans about where we need improvement and 9 will say our creativity from central midfield is'nt good enough and the other one will say we need a striker. I may be just a grumpy bugger but I am not optimistic about us going for Nzogbia in the slightest, we have plenty of players that can play the left wing position, 5 at least. Buy the players we need first then maybe we can look at upgrading to better players, we have too many positions in dire need to consider spending that amount on a winger. Left back, box to box midfielder (central) and striker, address them then maybe we could be optimistic about signing luxury players.
MeanGreenMachine Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Ive come to the conclusion every manager who takes over rovers gains a sudden blindness to our centre midfield situation.
Torgeir Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 That's lunacy. Cracking player, but I'm afraid he's lost the plot, Nicko. Tevez has always been surrounded by controversies. I thought he had matured but once every couple of years he reminds me that I was wrong
andyroversmad Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Nzogbia is a good player but i would rather we used that money to sign Kranjcar or try and get Bentley back.

I guess the reasoning from Sam would be if we can get in game changing players in the attacking positions (i.e.N'somnia), then for the mean time we can make to with remaining 'solid' if unspectacular in the central position of midfield. It's much tougher to change our style of play and try and dominate teams through the midfield, but if we have that little spark from the Frenchman and maybe a new forward we'll get a new dimension to our play. A bit like when Sam had Anelka at Bolton really, solid team, touch of class in the forward positions. Rome wasn't built in a day...
Blueboy Downunder Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 nicko...the man or lad, in question is 18 year old mario goetze. he is a midfield playmaker from borussia dortmund and has an 8 Million buy out clause!! there we go, you heard it here first
67splitscreen Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Don't see the point in criticism of who we are linked withat this time, that's for the end of the January widow. As Nicko suggest Santa's list is a nice one this year, lets just enjoy guessing at what we might be getting.
benhben Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 BBC Quote: Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is set to make a record-breaking £7m move for Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia. In what way would this transfer be record breaking?
steo Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Now we are taking, what a player he is going to be. Almeria in dire financial trouble to boot. Goals if anyone wants to see them. My link I mentioned this player last week and asked roberto how much does he reckon he'd cost, bout 9/10 million was his reply, atletico madrid are very interested in him and it's just a matter of time before he leaves almeria, very exciting prospect exactly what we need but doubtful he'd come to ewood.
Steve Moss Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Ive come to the conclusion every manager who takes over rovers gains a sudden blindness to our centre midfield situation. I think Nicko referenced that Sam was acting to land a wing (apparently N'Zogbia), a center midfielder and a striker. So we know one of the three, and have to be patient for the other two.

blue/white Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Tevez has always been surrounded by controversies. I thought he had matured but once every couple of years he reminds me that I was wrong Just three days ago he was quoted as saying He'd be happy to SEE out the rest of his contract w/ citeh... wtf?????
Bobby G Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Tevez has been unsettled for a while. The question is what is the root of his status (money, a move back to Argentina, or a move to another club in a different environment). Believe it or not, he had privately agreed a move in the summer. No smoke without fire. On the other note, N'Zogbia would be a good signing, but Id personally rather Krankjar and Bentley. If its N'Zogbia and one of the other two it would be perfect. A bit more pace and power in midfield and creativity down the middle too. Add a striker and its a merry X-mas.

Bobby G Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 If he does, then get him back. He has his best years ahead of him still and he can rediscover the form he had.
PAFELL Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Tevez has been unsettled for a while. N'zogbia can play on both wings, as can pederson, though the latter, in my opinion is better on the inside. Those two playing on the left would be good. On the other wing you have Emerton and it would not surprise me if Diouf was going. I also would like Bentley back. N'zogbia, Pederson, Bentley as just 3 of the midfield would be good imo. Plus as you say a decent striker. If Roberts is thrown into the deal for N'zogbia then they would have to buy a striker to replace him. All good in my view.

Decent player but not sure it's what we need, and it's a lot of cash to spend for someone who will improve the team but doesn't address the main problems which are through the midddle of the team with both midfielder and a striker who can actually score goals missing. If we get him and can still get decent players elsewhere then fair enough, but he'd not have been first name on my wish list, and the prospect certainly doesn't excite me, nor will it bring in those who are attracted by marquee signings.
