Rao's said they held initial talks which didnt progress. But you just said unless Diego takes up the offer, so what does that mean?

What do you think they held talks about?

The weather on the Pampas?

Even if Venky's know nothing about football, how long do you think Kentaro could do business like that before they got found out? If we sign strictly @#/? player then Venky's will be throwing their investment away. All PR is good PR perhaps? So they sink the ship and gain publicity by doing so, enabling them to make £45m+ from somewhere else as a result of our downfall.

Don't think so. ;)

Give them a chance before passing judgement, we don't know their long term plans just yet.

Quite so, that's my point.

Sam lost his job over "Transfer Policy" the owners/Kentaro didn't fancy Adam, N'Zogbia or Carlton Cole.

So who do they fancy ?

Presumably the Venerable Scribe is burrowing away at that as we speak ?

on a more sensible note - Nicko - do you think that Steve Kean is the "yes" man that some have alluded to ?

I don't know the chap. However from what I hear he is his own man. However that can only be found out when it is put to the test.

Hence my comment about the offer being ON THE TABLE currently, which I assume it isnt cause El Diez decided against it.

By the looks of it Steve Kean will be manager in January...unless Diego decides to take the offer...

And players will be signed in January.

So we will see who claims responsibility for them at the time.

Guess that depends on where your looking.

Todays news.

"On the departure of Blackburn Rovers team manager, Sam Allardyce, and his deputy, Neil McDonald, Desai said they were looking for a former EPL player. The name will be finalised in 10 days.

“We are looking for a local (Englishman) who had played in the EPL. Steve Kean, who has taken over as manager with immediate

effect, is good,” she added.

I'd find it difficult to continue supporting a club run this way, they would have effectively removed the heart and soul of the club and it would be unrecognisable to the club i've supported since i was a kid. If push came to shove I'd do what a lot of my friends who have also become disillusioned with the premier league over the last few years, throw my support behind my hometown club FC Halifax, currently riding high at the top of Northern Premier League Premier Division after winning promotion in their second season of existence after Halifax Town went out of business. Up the Shaymen!

Steve Kean has a lot of respect in the football scene. He's got a lot of knowledge and I believe it is he and NOT Sam who has turned rovers. I think Kean is more of an entertainer. We have good times ahead! Neil McDonalds CV is not so impressive so i I think it was right for Sam and Neil to leave.

I reckon its gonna be shearer with someone else by his side (possibly kean) Id like to think Kenny or Venables or even Hoddle

Alright Walshy lad it's Dickinson here! Yeah I'd go for a Shearer-Kean partnership. The fact that Shearer loves a bit of chicken n beans will go down very well indeed...

What are you basing all that nonsense on?!

I Quite fancied the idea as Shearer as boss when Ince left , but conceded that at the time we were in bottom 3 and perhaps was too much of a risk , but now we sit closer to mid table and , credit to Allardyce , a much better playing staff, a managment team that had Shearer atthe head and some experience alongside him would work for me

When you posted that on Facebook yesterday I didnt think much of it but having read the Venky statement - you may have summat!

....so effectively, any player who does well at our club (thus becoming a fans favourite in the process) will quickly be moved on to the highest bidder? It all sounds very good in a business sense (for Venky`s), but not very good for the fans. Every 6 months your favourite player will be moved on, leaving us with the players who fail to impress. A conveyor belt of talent for sale in the Ewood shop window.

It hardly gives the paying fans time to build relationships with their 'heroes' in blue & white, cos another one will be along in a minute. There`d be no point in selling shirts with names on either....unless they were made of velcro

I think if it came to this, i`d probably end up walking away from football.

Rovers have always done this. Every decent player we get moves on to supposedly bigger and better things

How random, I have been thinking the exact same thing, used to love standing on the North Terrace back in the early 90s.

Shearer does fit the bill for that, as does Pearce, coleman - been assistant to kean 3 clubs I think), bruce, coyle (british)Hughes.

Hughes brings another thought. If we had a choice over Sam or Hughes - who would we go for.

I am Rovers till I die - though if they died brfore me - as I live in east sussex I will go to brighton, especially when the new stadium is finished.

He may not have to be a "yes man" as the owners obviously have alot of respect for him. With that in mind he might be able to put his own ideas forward and not get a beasting from balaji in return. Have you heard anymore about how much the club will spend in Jan yet Nicko, can we expect a belated christmas present in a marquee signing?

Christmas? I am just taking it day by day at the moment.

Are things happening all the time then Nicko?

The first thing that has to happen is some OFFICIAL statement about Steve Kean's future.

That would surely help.

The most revealing remark came in the local Pune paper yesterday - it was what I had heard too but without being sure how long he was in charge.

But not a word about the man who will be in charge for the next game and probably a long time beyond.

Venky's and Kentaro need to sort out this announcement fast and be specific.

Or maybe they like a slaughtering in the papers every day.
