Ricky Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 They bought elano in though, what a player he is on his day, also wasnt petrov bought in at the same sort of time. Those two in their man city days were just the players we've been crying out for.

chaddyrovers Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Yes I agree, the Wenger model took a few years to build though Chaddy, at the moment, we need a few players now! As for the manager, I agree and someone like O'Driscoll would be the kind of person to do that, his coaching style (teams playing style) is not dissimilar to Arsenal, however, can he keep us in the premiership at present? I would agree with that it takes time and we need players now. We could sign players who are between 20-24 and develop them, whlist looking to sign youth players around 16-19 and develop. I think someone like Di Matteo, Zola, Bilic or Knilsmann also play like Wenger team. O'Driscoll is a good manager but would he fit what the owners wanted as a manager!

sparkspakespoke Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 If memory serves he did not have too many days though at City did he? Great first season, Hughes didnt like him though so never got a chance after that.
67splitscreen Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 60+ games in two seasons is not to shabby. Better than some I know.
chaddyrovers Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Steve Kean Charlie Adam to kickstart rovers http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Blackburn-still-want-Charlie-Adam-to-kickstart-the-Rovers-revolution-article654413.html
sparkspakespoke Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Steve Kean Charlie Adam to kickstart rovers http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Blackburn-still-want-Charlie-Adam-to-kickstart-the-Rovers-revolution-article654413.html Interesting. Nicko you have said we are after a midfield playmaker, most likely a wideman. If we sign Adam will that be it for the midfield or could we take him and someone to play one the wings?
chaddyrovers Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 I think we will go after Seb Larrson for the wing position. Out of contract at the end of the season! And his agent is either Kentaro/Sem.
Backroom Tom Posted December 19, 2010 Backroom Posted December 19, 2010 Just my opinion. Alot of the squad was close to Big Sam and Neil McDonald. From my names i said before:- Samba-was made captain under big sam and he help him become a better defender Dunn-close to BS and was a kep player for big sam Robinson- BS help him with his form and confidence aswell as Bobby Mimms Kalinic- BS spent alot of time helping him settle in England, helping him developed as a player Nelsen-was close to BS, and was disspointed when he was sacked and was happy when he was appointed maybe even Pedersen-Big Sam spent alot of time with him to signed a new contract and help his form Most of the squad were massive disspointed that Big Sam and Neil McDonald got sacked when he did. Fair enough mate, my real worry is Samba, pretty much in the entire squad he is the one we couldn't do without. Dunn is disposable at best these days. Robbo would be daft to leave, as good as he has been, being here has rescued his career I can't see he would want to risk that. Kalinic we wouldn't miss. Nelsen is nearing the end of his career (great servant and ambassador for the club so would love him to stay though) Pedersen, I can't see him wanting to leave, just got his form back and seems to be enjoying his football, massively important to us though. I honestly think if anyone wants to go it may be the likes of Hoilett who just can't seem to buy a game even when he has looked realy sharp. I would love it if we could bring Adam, maybe give them Dunn to sweeten the deal for them.
pick32 Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 isnt henry one of kentro clients, could we tempt him back to the bright lights of the premier league
JAL Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 What about HLEB at Birmingham, wasnt he rumoured to be wanting away from Brum already.

Does the BS stand for bullshit because I've never heard such bullshit in my life.
Backroom Tom Posted December 19, 2010 Backroom Posted December 19, 2010 What about HLEB at Birmingham, wasnt he rumoured to be wanting away from Brum already. Isn't he only there on loan? Amazed they haven't utilised him more, like Tuncay at Stoke maybe he's seen as a luxury player, wish we had one of them.
Hughesy Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 What about HLEB at Birmingham, wasnt he rumoured to be wanting away from Brum already. MEGA wages Would about pinching some of the SEM boys soon out of contract - Larsson, Elmander etc....all with prem experience & go to fit straight in?
USABlue Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Don't see Adam coming here either, he's better off at Blackpool, one of them players that loses it as soon as they move, IMHO.
Steve Moss Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Does the BS stand for bullshit because I've never heard such bullshit in my life. Ryan Nelson very unhappy. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/nelsen-attacks-owners-for-leaving-rovers-in-the-dark-2164883.html And again. http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/218393/Ryan-Nelsen-I-ve-never-known-anything-like-this-/ On a slightly more positive note, what about Bradley Johnson of Leeds? Decent midfielder and can also play left back. And only 6 months on his contract.
Kelbo Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I know it probably will never happen, but anyone who doubts the Value Beckham would bring to our club should have watched Sports Personality of the year last night. If I was a businessman in charge of a football club, he would be an integral part of my business plan, a player and a global marketing tool with no equal and a real money spinner for the club, even if we paid him £100,000 per week, yes, some may smirk at this comment but as a business and footballing decision together, it has no equal!

I left the room when Beckham came on and don't get him at all. Others would probably come to the ground to watch him - I wouldn't bother. Sad I may be but I just can't see the attraction of the guy.
67splitscreen Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 From another MB, I've read that we are reported in the Icelandic press to have made an offer for Gylfi Sigurdsson. ex Reading now Hoffenhiem. Wide man if I remember correctly. I doubt we have made an offer, as I doubt decisions have been made yet and the fact he only moved in the summer for 6m+. He was in the Reading academy when Kean was there so a possible. His agent from what I can gather is Stellar football ltd, three agents on there books, none of the names in current affairs. Anders Carlsson is Kentaros Scandinavian man so who knows maybe a friend of a friend.
Backroom trueblue Posted December 20, 2010 Backroom Posted December 20, 2010 Just to carry on the Beckham thing... how about bringing him in, not necessarily as a player, but as Director of Football or such? would certainly raise the profile of the club
AggyBlue Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Just to carry on the Beckham thing... how about bringing him in, not necessarily as a player, but as Director of Football or such? would certainly raise the profile of the club Do you really honestly think he would even consider a role down at Ewood?
67splitscreen Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Thought he was considering his own club in the MLS.
Hughesy Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 People said we cant find cheap talent in France, Germany, Spain etc...nonesense. If we want to sign a mifielder who wont cost a packet but would be a great signing for future & also is still young... We should look at Marvin Martin @ Sochaux in France Martin goal
Backroom trueblue Posted December 20, 2010 Backroom Posted December 20, 2010 Do you really honestly think he would even consider a role down at Ewood? Depends on what deal would be on the table doesn't it?
AggyBlue Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Depends on what deal would be on the table doesn't it? I don't think so. Far higher profile positions will be available to him, that's if he wants to work.
