Bobby G Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Has anybody ever properly answered this- Where is this £5million (and more if needed of course) actually coming from? They are just about profitable as a company, certainly not profitable enough to be ploughing wads into Rovers. Or am I missing something? These are queries that were being highlighted on this forum before the take-over but the relevant questions should have been taken by the Trust, and the ever-reliable PL.

otto man Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Why would anybody other than a kentaro client wish to join us ? Might start watching Clitheroe Brownie. Do you see any contradiction between your post and your signature? Is the sky really falling?
AJW Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 considering our weakness in midfield and the reported fee ...im would consider this guy http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6605977,00.html thoughts?
Simon Says Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Not sure we need that hassle at the moment.
AggyBlue Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 considering our weakness in midfield and the reported fee ...im would consider this guy http://www.skysports...6605977,00.html thoughts? That would be the straw for me
herbergeehh Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 CAVANI is the Serie A top goalscorer in a really good Napoli side. I fancy a 3rd place finish for them if they get to keep Cavani, Hamsik and Lavezzi.. Would be a perfect Wenger signing, but at 25m, I'm guessing he will stay unless Inter pay up. HUGO ALMEIDA on the other hand is set to leave Werder Bremen after contract talks have broken down. We can play flash football with our limited players, we still need a goalscorer like him.
Torgeir Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 considering our weakness in midfield and the reported fee ...im would consider this guy http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6605977,00.html thoughts? For that price I would bring him in. I know about his past and recent cock-ups but based on his abilities on the pitch he would become an instant hit in our team. If £5m is what we have to spend in January we can't really afford to be too picky when quality like this becomes available - I just think Big Sam would have been the right manager to keep him at bay.
B.R.F.C Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 If we want a striker and a cheap but talented player I would suggest this guy: Bony Wilfried of Sparta Prague In top form at present and scoring goals for fun.
Roberto Policano Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 How are Torino getting on? Oh and out of interest are any of the shenanigans going on at Rovers making the press in Italy? 5th,but teams after our better players in Jan. Yes,the Maradona stuff did. Venky's - £5M Surely your owners could just have said that,so they don't get taken for a ride over transfer prices. HUGO ALMEIDA on the other hand is set to leave Werder Bremen after contract talks have broken down. We can play flash football with our limited players, we still need a goalscorer like him. Almeida is after big money.Lazio are trying to sign him & a couple of Turkish sides. After a 1.5 million Euro signing on fee & £55,000 a week.

I want that one. Great shout, looks quick, strong, good feet, good head. How much? Love the finish around 36secs
SergioPeter89 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 After a 1.5 million Euro signing on fee & £55,000 a week. If thats what he want, Ill say that he should get it. Okey, the signing on fee is pretty high, but high signing on fees was something that Big Sam was knowned for. 55k a week is what MGP is on, so dont think thats to much for a player o his caliber.
B.R.F.C Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I want that one. Great shout, looks quick, strong, good feet, good head. How much? Love the finish around 36secs I reckon we could snag him for a couple of million. Had a read about possible transfer rumours earlier and there's a few Turkish clubs sniffing about.

From IMscouting "Bony's current contract runs until 2014, and Sparta Prague are willing to let go of their top striker. They have reportedly put a price tag of €14 million on the prolific goal-scorer."

Pedersen's agent likes to big up his clients.Best not to take what he says as gospel. If you started paying your players £55,000 a week across the board, you would make a £15-20 million pound loss every season on your current yearly income.
B.R.F.C Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 From IMscouting "Bony's current contract runs until 2014, and Sparta Prague are willing to let go of their top striker. Another suggestion would be Lacina Traore of Cluj...very similar player and equally as talented.
JAL Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Do Rovers have anyone better than Joey Barton at the moment ? I dont think so, so for that kind of fee, Barton would fit the missing Robbie Savage role perfectly well.
roversmum Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 We've been through all this before. Surely he's far too much of a loose cannon with everything in disarray at the moment?

Except for the 8+ inch height difference Don't think he would be cheap either, same goes for Václav Kadlec of Sparta Prague.

beerwins Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 never trust youtube: Did you notice how many of those goals came from long balls pumped up to him with 4 defenders to beat None, all the goals were scored inside the box more or less, which tells me his best game is a 6 yard poacher, why this guy was signed as a target man I will never know.

beerwins Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 and if that's all he can do, he shouldn't be playing in the Premier League, beerwins. I agree sort of, but from watching those clips and watching him on the pitch when he has played he is at his most effective when inside the 6 yard box, not sure which striker isnt really, apart from Roberts of course. He kinda reminds me of a poor mans Ruud van horseface or whatever his name was. I would like to see him play if we do decide to play some pass and move football as the last bout of direct football certainly wasnt suited to him, but I get the feeling if a bid comes he is off with little resistance.

If only Football Manager signings worked... we could sign Cherno Samba, Dean Keates, Billy Jones, Daniel Braathen, Andri Sigporrson.... The list is endless... and they'd all fit into our £5m budget! ;-)
