I'll take your word on Blackman Nicko as I've never seen him.

NOT UP TO IT AT PREMIER LEAGUE LEVEL.

If Fergie is as pally with Sam as it seems maybe he'll take Diouf back out of spite and send him elsewhere.

IF FERGIE IS TIGHT WITH SAM HE MIGHT JUST LEAVE HIM AT ROVERS OUT OF SPITE...

Still hope Adam is on the radar

AMONG OTHERS.

Would certainly make sense to get a Centre back in to cover Jones. Surely one of our midfield crocks will be available in the new year (I'm hoping Nzonzi). Centre midfield revolves around how highly Pedersen is rated and whether he favours 4-4-2. He is clearly being used as our ball player at the moment, don't think he has the range of passing for the role, but is a decent box to box midfielder. Could he play with a creative midfielder or is it too weak if it's a 2 man midfield? In which case where would Pedersen play in a 4-4-2?

Definitley need some quality up top and out wide.

Tottenham could solve a lot of our problems with O'hara and Bentley both available. Purely seculative but wonder what kind of deal could be struck for those two if Samba goes the other way?

Ah come on Nicko MBD isn't that bad, at least he has a bit of pace.

It's quite heartening if we are looking at players like Adam, and the amongst others bit would lead you to think these others are of a similar standard and if so would walk into our midfield.

If I didn't hate him so much I'd like Joey Barton here, great value at £1.5m I could see him at Everton though.

Those are the three positions. May be more.

One benefit of promoting from within is that the new guy knows where the problems lie - and who the players are being considered.

I think Steve Kean will add some ideas of his own to that...

So my estimate would be five or so arriving, but a couple of those being in the younger experimental category.

A striker- Robbie Keane, Hugo Rodallaga

A right wing- David Bentley, Seb Larrson, SWP

A midfield playmaker or goalscorer- Charlie Adam, Gylfi Sigurðsson

A centre back(if Samba leaves) David Wheater, Steven Taylor,

A young striker-Denni Advic, Jelle Vossen

Maybe a experience left back if Givet is going to be playing at centre back for the rest of the season.

But let's see who we sign in Jaunary. It's alright saying that we wanted 5 players but it depends who available and who wants to come and how much we got!

I would let Grella, Andrews, Benjani go. we got Pedersen, Dunn, Nzonzi, Goulon and Langinzi who can play there. Just add a midfield goalscorer or playmaker to that!

More chance selling a car with no engine and gearbox.

yeah, probably. but you never know. Someone might be stupid enough to take a chance on poor old Vinnie. Funny how someone who was considered a combatative midfielder in Italy just turns into glass the moment he comes to a leauge with actual physical play... we should just terminate his contract and accept that it was one of the biggest wastes of money in a long time.

Re: Samba, have mentioned him to 3 Arsenal fans and none of them have wanted him. Spoke to a Spurs fan who said he seems too error-prone. Seems opinion of Samba is a lot higher with Rovers fans than it is outside of the club, perhaps why after a year of his agent supposedly trying to get him out of Blackburn he's had little success.

Fwiw I think Samba's generally been excellent for us, especially considering how much we signed him for, but he's certainly error-prone and I do think he'd struggle at a bigger club. Looks like we may find out just how well he can adapt in the next couple of months...

I'm sure I read that N'Zonzi would be back in January. I'm looking forward to that. I realise plenty don't agree but I think we have really missed him.

was about to just ask if Grella could be given a new lease of life under Kean - and how long his previous injury has kept him away. I feel that he is the best passer of the ball in the current squad and would be suited to be a deep lying playmaker especially when we play the ball on the ground. But now, no thanks to another further injury....

Any word on Khizanishvili - are we trying to recall him yet? I recall a fantastic partnership between him and Samba for the last half of the 07/08 season(?) where he deputized for the injury of Nelsen.

Excellent interview. If they mean it, don't contradict it, and follow through on it, the Rovers may be climbing the table again.

I couldn't concentrate on what he was saying. I was transfixed by the Rovers' emblem which formed a perfect halo round his head! The new Messiah?

On a serious note, the message was good. The challenge for him is to convince the players and the challenge for the owners is to come good on the words. Nice to hear some positive things though.

I would think that the managerial situation and the general air of despondency around the place, coupled with Blackburn not being the most desirable location, will put us out of the running for most of the players we would want to sign. Is someone like Charlie Adam really going to commit himself to Blackburn when he could see out the season at B'pool and get a good move in the summer? Can't see it myself. A good run over Christmas might change that but I can't see that either. As for the likes of RObbie Keane, absolutely no chance. O doubt he's that desperate to be honest.

Think the lad would be a good signing, if not too pricey. Still a bit raw but he's got pace, decent in the air, also seems to be able to create chances for himself (granted he hasn't finished many ). Give the lad some service and I'm sure he could do some serious damage

Better than anything we presently have IMO.

Intresting to hear Kean today say that he will discuss the list with Martin Glover........A name which will be very high up on Glovers list will be Erik Huseklepp..........Pedersons international baby-face teammate who can play anywhere accross the front line and especially the Right wing......Glover saw Erik Huseklepp score 2 on the night V France and has gone from strength to strength............he is a bit of a late developer but is a very cool & confidente silky player......hes coming to the end of his contract and alot of German clubs are after him........Heard Sam was very close to signing him but the Walkers never came through and Roberts couldnt be sold..........Glover also wanted kevin Constant and look what happenend their........Ac Milan have come in for him 6 months later....Valencia & Constant are ones which Fell from the grasp......

What Cheif Scout saw..........

How do we feel about that? Better than Di Santo, quick with good control, finishes cooly when given the chance but seems to go missing for long periods. Needs someone to put that through ball in for him to run onto. Young and needs more bulk.

A qualified "Yes" from me depending on the price.

There are a lot of European players who would move to Blackburn, crisis or no crisis - we're still premier league and pay decent wages. Decision for Adam is of he doesn't come and his form dips, he could be back in the Championship with Blackpool next season.

To be honest, I wonder if he is the answer anyway.

...and that is WHY we had to be sold.

Are Glover & Roberto Policano the same person??
