No idea how anyone could know Rovers would want to sign him based on the crazy last two weeks

not about whether we would keep him, if cheap then maybe a yes

Intresting to hear Kean today say that he will discuss the list with Martin Glover........A name which will be very high up on Glovers list will be Erik Huseklepp..........Pedersons international baby-face teammate who can play anywhere accross the front line and especially the Right wing......Glover saw Erik Huseklepp score 2 on the night V France and has gone from strength to strength............he is a bit of a late developer but is a very cool & confidente silky player......hes coming to the end of his contract and alot of German clubs are after him........Heard Sam was very close to signing him but the Walkers never came through and Roberts couldnt be sold..........Glover also wanted kevin Constant and look what happenend their........Ac Milan have come in for him 6 months later....Valencia & Constant are ones which Fell from the grasp......

He signed a new 3 year deal in March, but it's likely that the player and Brann has an gentlemen's agreement that he'll be allowed to go if the right offer ticks in. He's Brann's star player and has been expected to go abroad for a couple of seasons now but nothing ever materialized. Mainz was interested earlier this month, but Brann's incompetent director f'ed it up according to the Germans. The club is in deep financial trouble, I doubt he'll set us back more than £1-1.5m. Been good on the national team as striker and winger in 4-5-1, mostly used as winger in Brann. Can he cope in the big leagues? Who knows, but he's got pace and technique and in my mind, would bring something new to our midfield.

A canny scot for the wing would be nice David Templeton. I know its the SPL but! reminds me of a young Duff amongst others.

Concur, Templeton is destined for big things - an old style Scot winger, "jinky" - good crossess and scores goals

I don't have the inside info you have unleaded but there's been a few MGP blog posts urging Sam to sign Huseklepp who's a good friend of his.

I think I speculated at the time that he wouldn't have made those posts unless he knew something and by the sounds of it he did.

Haven't seen him play but he sounds like a handy player who'd be available at a handy price.

Nicko on Samba.

Think Kean is playing this one right.

I can think of a few midfielders I wouldn't mind us signing - Kranjcar, Bentley, Adam - but I'm struggling to identify available strikers who could get us goals and would actually come.

Templeton is a cracker. Massive potential, not sure if he's ready for PL yet, but at the right price he'd be a shrewd buy.

If Samba has been angling for a move for a year, then I can't see how his recent comments are fuelled by the Venky's takeover. If he wanted to move, why accept the captaincy? Pretty two-faced if true. The fans are looking for reassurance. A pro would help them achieve that, either by seeking it (like Nelsen) or by a blog post (like MGP). I think Samba needs to clarify his situation, and be the captain he was assigned. Blackburn Rovers FC are bigger than its players, bigger than its managers, and bigger than its owners so we will prevail - I for one take some comfort (and a lot of pride) in that, no matter what division or circumstances.

So Nicko, seeming as you and Kean seem to get along, tell him to sign a fellow Scot (Templeton) for the wing, Harmeet Singh for central midfield (will keep the owners happy) and Adebayor on loan after making the Diouf transfer permanent. We don't need Huseklepp though :)

I love Samba as much as the next fan, but he IS DEFINITELY replacable!

Kean playing a straight bat, probably the best way forward.

I've watched him a few times. He's ready!!!

Seems to fit Venky's profile for the master plan.

No problems with work permits or the language, has to be worth a gamble at his age

If he didn't quite make it in the Prem you would hardly lose on the deal.

Nicko have a word in your mates ear. ;)

What sort of fee anyone?.

Surely it would be far better to try to keep hold of Samba until the end of the season with Jones's injury. It would only take for Nelsen to be injured and we'd be looking at a central defensive partnership of Givet and either the not-yet-ready Hanley or (God help us) Chimbonda. By the end of the season we'd have Jones back and hopefully Hanley would have gained the experience to show if he was a likely first team regular. Failing that, we'd have had time to scout for a Samba replacement.

Hanley was always the most highly rated out of him & Jones at youth level, prior to Jones getting the chance, so perhaps another star in the making....some experience could do him a world of good & who knows, come summer we may have 2 teenage central defenders on our books who all the big clubs want.

Samba is replaceable, im a big fan of his, however his comments need to be clarified whether it be by a transfer request or by coming out and saying he is happy. What would people deem acceptable for him, considering Cahill is always touted at £15-17m??

I don't imagine we'd get much more than £10m for Samba although I would publicly slap a much higher price on him.

As someone said he's too clumsy and risky for the big boys but maybe someone like Liverpool may fancy him. Or ideally we send him to spurs and get Bentley plus a few million for him then buy him back next year when he's flopped.

That's exactly what popped into my head. My mate said the same.

That or sell him to Villa for Richard Dunne, plus a few million.

I'd be happy with either.

Samba 10 million? Smalling 10 million? Koscielny 8.5 million?

I dont think so.

Worth closer to 15 million in the English market of crazy prices. Id be sickened if he left for less.

I love it how a little spin from the media and everyone's all cool to him leaving.

Something printed in the paper by someone and everyone reads it like gospel, but anything comes from any other source or multiple sources and the belief factor isnt there.

Good luck to Steve Kean getting in the right players FOR OUR CLUB.

I believe there are/were plenty jumping on the band wagon of mass hysteria last week and this.

Still waiting on all those transfer requests.............
