Bobby G Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 14 in 44 for Cluj in league games. If we want the new Drogba, its Lukaku from Anderlecht. Curious to see Traore's record in Europe.

T4E Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Of the year? Really? I know this place his declined over the last 12 months, but that far? Well, Woody is pretty reliable. It's got me thinking though - if our players were characters from Toy Story, who would be who?I reckon - Woody - Paul Robinson Buzz Lightyear - Ryan Nelsen Jessie - Morten Gamst Pedersen Slinky Dog - Jason Roberts Bo Peep - Michel Salgado Emperor Zurg - Jerome Anderson Mr Potato Head - David Dunn Merry Christmas everyone!
Gav Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I know this place his declined over the last 12 months, but that far? Started going down hill about 2003
chaddyrovers Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Lacina Traore is your target. I wouldn't be surprise. I seen him play one. Quite good, but at 20 years old, we would be buying his potential and hopefully he would develop as a player. In the Champions league this season, his record was 2 goals in 6 games. scored against Basel and roma. http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs/player=250011730/index.html

Is Steve Kean the man in the chicken suit?
nicko Posted December 25, 2010 Author Posted December 25, 2010 Lacina Traore has been offered to several clubs by different agents in the past few weeks. He is big and awakward, but dangerous. A mate of mine recommended him to one of the clubs who looked long and hard but decided he was not ready yet. It is a 'possible' in the circumstances I suppose, but the striker I heard about was older, stronger, more experienced...but quite a bit more expensive. There is no fresh movement on that one just now - it was teed up and waiting on approval.

Cheers
neophox Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I agree! Thanks Nicko for your contribution this year on the messageboard and long may it continue!! Merry christmas Nicko and everyone on the board! Here's hoping for three points tomorrow.
Backroom DE. Posted December 25, 2010 Backroom Posted December 25, 2010 I like Traore, and think he's definitely one for the future. I do agree that he isn't quite ready for the big leagues yet, though I wouldn't be against bringing him in and then loaning him back to Cluj or to another club to continue gaining experience. Problem is, I don't think we're a big enough club to be doing that kind of deal for a player like Traore, so we'll either have to take a gamble or pass him up.
Torgeir Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I would welcome Lacina Traore in with open arms, if he continues to develop he will give any defence a world of problems. He is big and awakward, but dangerous. A mate of mine recommended him to one of the clubs who looked long and hard but decided he was not ready yet. Premier League club?
slough_rover Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 One of my Turkish mates has told me that Popov is not enjoying life in Turkey and may look to move. They paid about 3 million Euros for him, wouldnt be the worst move we could make.
michaelthomas Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Nicko, the striker is it possibly Anelka?
Mercer Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Heard a name this afternoon that Rovers supposedly have looked at and are looking at - hope I've got the bloke's names right, and that's Vossen, presently playing in Belgium. Apparently, fits the criteria of the new regime and is seen as 'a bright young thing'.
tony gale's mic Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Nicko, the striker is it possibly Anelka? I heard it's Eto'o.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Thought i'd check to see with his keepers whether Napoli had firmed up their interest. The guy then came out with Aston Villa,Fulham & Blackburn have all agreed a fee with Cluj & things will move early January.Reckoned Bayern had dropped their interest, which is just aswell!. If the guy isn't lying to me.Reckon he has a good chance of coming to England,as you can probably go higher wages wise than the other teams across Europe which are interested. Thanks for the info. Any idea what kind of money we're talking?
frosty Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I watched Cluj v Roma in the CL and the Cluj fans were booing and whistling Traore every time he got the ball! So maybe he isn't very good.....although after endless missed chances he did go on to equalise.

Roberto Policano Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Thanks for the info. Any idea what kind of money we're talking? Around £3.5 million. He was booed because he said he was fed up with Romania in October & that he was off to another country in January,so the fans turned on him.

Apparently, fits the criteria of the new regime and is seen as 'a bright young thing'. I suggest his name a couple of days ago. Suppose to be a very good striker with alot of potential aswell. Heard that Everton and Villa were interest a couple of months ago.

So, a lad with champion league goals to his name is half the price of kalinic, sounds well worth a punt in our brand new era.
blue/white Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Sergio I'm fairly certain thst i could have without heariung details about Anthiny Annan's dodgy bedroom habits. Yeah I remember seeing that, after he scored he made a few choice gestures to the fans. Shut them up at least. He looks worth a shot, the type I would like us to go for, young with big potential, better than the usual Janko links anyway
