Still need 2 midfielders desperately. A central midfield of Dunn, Emerton and Pedersen is not good by anyone's imagination.

On yesterdays showing i think we need a little more than two midfielders desperately. We have for too long placed members of the squad (refuse to call them "midfielders") in midfield for no other reason than we have nobody else suitable. The midfield yesterday was the best of a bad bunch. Sadly, that's the case for most areas of the team.

On a more positive note it's only a few days to the tranfer window. Surely, (SURELY!!!!) the players required have been identified and we're going to have better players available. Who knows, maybe even a couple of (long overdue) midfielders. ;)

Agreed, if they've anything about them now, they'll have the players in place by jan 1st. At least it would show some kind of organisation.

Has a list of players been drawn up yet Nicko?

MGP and Dunn has to be the worst central midfield partnership in the PL.

There are plenty of names flying about. But decisions have to be taken quickly. You need players in by the end of the week if you ask me.

Firstly, to get a side together. Secondly, to stop the Venky's vitriol.

It makes me smile from a distance. The previous owners left the place in a state and would have NO money available for January because they wanted rid of the club.

But, hey, let's have a demo...

I would have thought that one look at the team sheet and bench yesterday confirmed two things.

1...you need players.

2...fast.

Totally agree, this team lacks quality all over the place.

Just hoping we can actually "attract" some quality players to the club in this window

Nicko, I think the problem is that we don't have a proper manager and there are clearly not talking to the rovers board who did a great job pre takeover. John Williams has been sidelined by Jerome Anderson and Kentaro. Which MOST fans do not like or wanted! There is no clear communication between owners, JW, Players and MOST important the FANS!!!

I don't get why the owners are not using John Williams in his full ability. He is probably the best chairman around and has the fans interest at heart.

Also why get rid of a manager who would keep you up and proper a top half finish then sacked him and replace him with a coach NOT a manager. Surely they would have a manager line up like a Martin Jol to come in as manager. They don't seem to understand football or the rovers fans.

Everything the owners do seem to be done without a plan in place. Surely Big Sam would be able to atract better quality players like Steve Kean.

At least somebody has common sense on here...

It was glaringly obvious yesterday that we need 2 centre midfielders and a QUALITY striker upfront to support Kalinic.

The last 2 games showed that Dunn was so unfit it`s unreal and that at times it was like playing with 10 men.I know Pedersen had a shocker on sunday, but it doesn`t help if the supporting cast aren`t helping either.

A couple of quality players in January and i think things will look a lot better.

I agree totally... why sign for a club withour a perm manager in place..and if it the next three games go against us it could be a new manager who doesn't rate you and the transfer window shut? If the owners had appointed Jol we as fans could see the direction as it is I aint a clue all I know is we are now being quoted in the relegation odds! Great move!

I take your point about the Trust nicko, and would fully agree with you. However, the real issue for me is the sacking of Sam and his replacement with Kean at such a crucial point in the season. Yesterday's dire performance merely underlined the fact that we have replaced a decent manager, who would have guaranteed Premier League survivial, with a manager who is still very green behind the ears in terms of management. A good coach doesn't always make a good manager - as we know only too well from Brian Kidd's time at the club - and the replacement of Sam with Kean, without consultation with John Williams, has merely angered a majority of fans. I'm not talking out the fans who come on messageboards, but the supporters who go down to Ewood to support their team on a regular basis.

I agree with what den said a few posts back, about Kean reminding him of Jim Iley. I think it could easily develop into a very similar situation. The players don't appear to be totally on board with the new regime and the fans certainly have not bought into the Venky vision as yet. A few more bad results and pressure will mount in the Press and supporters will become increasingly vocal in their protests. With Mrs. Desai and her family safely ensconced in Pune, it will be Steve Kean who will face the flak as he will be the visable face of Venkys.

I would think that Kean has a month to turn it around and the games against West Brom (home & away), Sunderland, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham will decide his fate and probably that of the club. One can only hope that he has players lined up and that those players can be brought in sooner rather than later in January.

Venkys Vitriol...............Nicko these Chicken ******* have brought it on themselves they have bought the club to raise their own profile/publicity

BS did a fantastic job keeping us in the prem top ten , etc with poor players this is a worse side than when we last went down at least then we had decent youngsters coming through..

Nicko's happy because Kean gives good conferences, which is great for his job, but doesn't get you 3 points. Otherwise Christpher Biggins, Brian Blessed and Simon Amstell would all be managers at some level. So far, the Venky's lot have shown themselves to be utterly clueless, and completely lacking in a plan for the club. The trust has starved the team for years, but they let a competent man in John Williams control the situation.

Depending on injuries, we need two midfield players. First of all, unless Nzonzi or Grella *cough* return to action sharpish, or Kean gives a chance to Linganzi, we need a ball-winner. And obviously we're crying out for a playmaker. Ideally, we could kill two birds with one stone and sign a proven box-to-box midfielder (in the Scott Parker mould).

Yes, let's have a demo. It's absolutely bloody scandalous what's happening to our football club. An absolute disgrace. In fact you'd be hard pushed to put a dingle in charge and an for him to make as big a pigs ear of it.

A complete novice in charge with no managerial experience. His one redeeming quality being that he did a good press conference. Deep joy. And who do we have to assist this guy? Our reserve team manager who joined the club from Liverpool Under 12's I believe. I'm sure the players can't believe it.

But hey, no, this is all good. This is better than Sam of course - he's a good guy Kean. Someone has told them so.

So what's next then? Well we need reinforcements. What better way to go about this than by giving the money to a guy with no managerial experience, he'll be able to attract these players won't he? Still spending money is better than not having any money isn't it? After all it's all free this money isn't it? It's not as though we're going to "do a Portsmouth" or anything.

Come off it nicko, the squad is well short we know that. However, Allardyce would have still steered us WELL away from danger.

Absolutely nailed on. But that wouldn't fit in with the agenda would it.

Nicko. Are the owners still looking for a 'director of football' figurehead or have they given up on that idea. IMO the only chance kean has of surviving the next month or two is if a 'name' was to be appointed in such a role - even if only for a short period eg Dalglish. That way the players get someone they respect, the fans are boosted and Kean gets chance to work with the team and er..coach!

cant see it being free money just another way of the club going in debt ????

Nicko, your pro venkys stance is just as laughable as the super anti venkys stance taken by some.

Surely you can see that Sam was doing a good job with the same squad as Kean has got. The performances under Kean have been way way worse than anything under Sam. We're not even looking like getting a shot on goal!!

You may be pro kean but he's way out of his depth. I was half expecting to see him holding Ince's 'Shoot' piece of paper yesterday!!!

I am not pro-Venky's. However you cannot judge these people until they have had a chance to spend their money. That is why they had to come in.

It is all about the January transfer window - that's why Sam was bumped. They don't trust him with their cash.

I think the same applies to Kean. Give him his chance.

Sam's record last season against West Ham and Stoke in the home games was two dull draws. So Kean is a point off the pace.

I saw West Brom yesterday. There is every chance they will tonk you tomorrow.

So it will get worse.

However the problems that need addressing are in signing players for the squad. You got away with it in the first few months because everyone was fit. The minute Kean takes over he loses three key men in 90 minutes.

This is when the new owners, the manager and Kentaro have to prove they can work it out. If they do not land the players needed it will have been a disaster.

However it the previous owners were still in charge it would have been a guaranteed disaster too - because they had pulled the plug.

I don't think hysterical ranting helps. There is a bottom line here that needs to be sorted out...quickly.
