The only reservation I'd have about Adam is that he is very slow and liable to be caught in possession. His defensive skills are a little bit dodgy too. Still, the bottom line is that he can pass the ball better than anyone we have and would be free.

A no-brainer as Nicko says and the end of Blackpool.

Have to say I share those concerns too but agree the positives out-weigh the negatives.

One thing that nobody has picked up on yet is Adam's set-piece ability. He would offer a fantastic free kick and more effective corners than we have become accustomed to. This has to be the major advantage to him potentially signing for a Big Sam side.

EDIT - Is it true that Charlie Adam's agent is Kenny Moyes (brother of David)? Interesting.

Charlie Adam would fit in our side pretty well, I think. He's not quick, and as others have pointed out his defensive game needs working on, but he'd be a fine Tugay replacement, which is what our midfield is lacking IMO.

I know more than a few Blackpool fans who are in total denial about the chances of him leaving on a free - surely tearing up his contract for the sake of £20k is one of the stupidest situations any Premier League club could get themselves into, especially when they could sell him for £5m+ in the Summer, more if they stay up.

Brum have offered Larsson a new contract according to Mirror & he's expected to extend by the end of the week!!

Oh no, who else can we get to stand on the right wing and do f*** all??!!

Pedersen mk2, without the long throw.

BBC's Gossip Column is saying that Kezman is getting released from his contract. I've liked him, and I always thought that he wasn't given enough of a chance at Chelsea.

Worth it, on a free transfer?

Sam can do the old "Come to Rovers and rebuild your career" trick.

I don't think he'd fit into Sam's system - doesn't have the right attributes. I think he'd just be an older version of Niko.

"Jones would command a similar fee to his England Under-21 centre back partner Chris Smalling who moved joined Manchester United for P10 million last January."

Like hell! If he goes, it better be for a lot more than that!

Phil Jones wouldn't leave just yet. (I hope)

Jones has the makings of a cracking player and it would be a shame to lose one of our own. If he continues to progress though, he will move in the not to distant future anyway.

Personally I've always thought that it's relatively easy to replace defenders as teams defend as a unit - you also don't need the eye for a pass or goalscoring instinct. Providing we were to achieve a fee upwards of £10 million and significant add ons - the money should be used soley to buy a 15-20 goal striker or top drawer attacking midfielder. IMO it would make a shrewd piece of business and pretty much guarantee survival this year and next, something that isn't guaranteed with Jones in the team regardless of his undoubted quality.

Once he makes the senior england squad, thats the time to worry. The press will really try to unsettle him then, so they can have him at a 'big' club.

Funny, if I was chelsea I'd be after Samba as a Terry replacement, not a yet to be fully proven young hot prospect.

I think he should only be sold if he wants to leave which I dont think he does.

I think management need to have a discussion with him and say the best thing for him and his development is to stay with Rovers and see where this takeover (persuming it goes through) takes us in the next couple of years and if he wants to leave in a couple of years fair enough.

I would be very suprised if we sold him anyway until he was 21+

If we had to sell him now I think we should be looking for £15 million plus a further £5 millon after 30 apperances and a further £5 million after his first England cap. (and yes before anyone asks yes I do play football manager  )

These rumours will come obviously. Jones is a huge talent and not playing in a big club. I wouldn´t be worried yet. Also it would be very very stupid move for him. Now he can play every week and reserve team isn´t a choice anymore.

He will be in two weeks...
