John
Without turning this into the Bolton thread, early days, however Coyle has done well there so far. They have a strong spine through their team in Cahill, Muamba and Kevin Davies. Personally rate Davies very highly, he was top class yesterday. Leads the line very well and creates space for others, nearly the perfect target man - not sure why so many were against us signing him when we were supposedly interested. Because many of us remember him from last time and have never forgiven him. 7M quid and couldn't be arsed.
47er
Never heard of the "Transfer Tavern" before but more unsettling on the Jones front. How dare we have someone of that talent? http://www.footballtransfertavern.com/2010/11/premiership/ferguson-preparing-a-rare-premiership-swoop? Tyrone Shoelaces
Robbo Jones Samba Diouf MKI Olsson With only 3 points between us and them for all we know we could be level pegging come next week. Don't agree with most of those. Robbo's no better or worse than he was previosly, we're talking a former England goalkeeper here. Jones is a young guy with great ability and a good head on his shoulders, he'll improve with game time. Samba's still prone to the sort of rash challenges that lead to red cards. Diouf Mk 1. well he's been around the block enough times to know that another season like last season and he'd be out on his ear. Ollson , well he's improved that much he's on the bench most games. If we finish above Bolton this season I'll be delighted.

If we finish above Bolton this season I'll be delighted. When Robbo came here he was broken, after Ince he was mashed. Now he's probably our best player this season, he's definitely better than when Sam inherited him. When Sam came no-one on here had heard of Jones, now he's the next Terry. Samba's positioning is better than it was, much better. Diouf MKI was gash last year, this he's played some really good games and is our most creative player. Olsson at left back is still the same, headless chicken chasing a ball. But Sam put him on the wing and he's looked bloody good there. I think your being harsh, Sam has surely played a role in their improvements/return to what they were.
Tyrone Shoelaces
I've just watched the second half of Cardiff v Swansea. Quite impressed with Nathan Dyer, good first touch, gets his head up, decent crosser of the ball, nice change of pace and takes his full back on all the time. He's still learning but looks to have what takes.

Nor Robbo that was so low on confidence when he came...he now is starting to grow a reputation again, and you can sense we have much more confidence in him than we did 2 years ago. Diouf is BY FAR a better player this season, Samba has also come on alot in the last 12 months. Olsson is also now FAR more useful to us, whether its left wing or not. Of course Jones has improved, where did I say he hadn't ? A year ago he was in the youth team , now he's in the first team- it speaks for itself. How much Sam and co are responsible for this is another story. Robbo's no better now than when he came to us, tell me why you think he is. Diouf's been good so far but he needed to be, a repetition of last season and he would have been out on his ear Remind me who was in charge then. Samba's a top player but his decision making ( a key skill at centre half ) is just as erratic as ever and Ollsonn has definately gone backwards. Hughesy
Bentley & Krancjar to be sold Don't agree with most of those. You asked who had improved....Maji gave you a list....you said you dont agree. Now you change your mind? Jones, Diouf etc have. As for Robbo told you once - he was low on confidence when he came & everything seemed to fly past him, not anymore.
Billy Castell
I'd be happy to go for either or both Bentley and Krancjar. They are what we need.

I'd be laughing my ass off if we could get Bentley back with our 5 million war chest in January. The old saying " A Yid and his money are easily parted" will be given a new lease of life. 47er
I think Hughes is bound to go for him. Suspect Bentley would prefer to stay in London rather than come back here. Hope I'm wrong.
John
I doubt we would have the money to buy Bentley - also, I don't think he would want to come back.
beerwins
If those two are sold to rival clubs like Fulham and barcodes and we dont bring in similar quality we are in trouble, we should be all over the pair of them with the lack of quality we have, if our soon to be new owners want to make a gesture to the fans about future intentions they need look no further than those two or even one of them would do. I'm sure I remember hearing that he was set to join Fulham last window on loan, but as Van Der Vaart wasn't 100% spurs said no?

beerwins
This is Spurs selling so the asking prices will be stupid. I imagine Krancjar will be on big wages but I dont recall them paying a lot for him, around the 4 mill region, he hasnt really set the world on fire down there but he could do for us. He could be a realistic option and has the creativity we lack so badly, could be a cracking player for us in the hole behind the striker. In thinking about that where is Jamie o Hara now? He has a cracking engine and could be good buy, not seen him feature at all for Spuds.

Iceman
krankjar(sp) was signed by Spurs for around 2mill. he would be a cracking signing, but no doubt Villa, everton, Fulham etc will be in there
sparkspakespoke
This is Spurs selling so the asking prices will be stupid. Spot on, spurs as a club and Levy in particular are very difficult to do business with. It doesnt look like we'll have any money to waste so we'll most liely have to lokk for bargins in the emerging leagues rather than our difficult to deal with rivals. Although I am sure the Bentley deal was structured on future apperances and success etc so there may be some wiggle room there, although I cant see him being humble enough to comr back.
