Backroom trueblue Posted November 18, 2010 Backroom Posted November 18, 2010 I thought I read somewhere that the board and Trust had come up with a Plan B to give Sam some pennies in Jan IF the take over hadn't happened?.. I could be wrong though

Ricky Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Pretty sure Mr Nixon mentioned that, I could be wrong however so don't shout me down if I am.

I could be wrong though No you are not wrong, Alan Nixon did indeed report that, however I personally did not believe that for one second. Our current owners have not dug that deep for some time, I find it very hard to believe they will do so now.
Amo Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I thought I read somewhere that the board and Trust had come up with a Plan B to give Sam some pennies in Jan IF the take over hadn't happened?.. I could be wrong though Pennies sounds about right.
nicko Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 The takeover is on...the local paper was just pointing out that if there wasn't one there would be less cash...chill. As for Carew...very little chance of that. It sounds as if there are at least two shopping lists just now. The manager and scouts are looking at players. Other names are being pushed. And we have not even got to whatever Kentaro and Co have up their sleeve. All a bit strange.
The Rover of Finland Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 LAncashire Telegraph says we're lining up Big John Carew for £3m in January. Is this on printed version? Can´t find it.
broadsword Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I thought I read somewhere that the board and Trust had come up with a Plan B to give Sam some pennies in Jan IF the take over hadn't happened?.. I could be wrong though I do believe Mr Nixon mentioned alternative methods of funding the club by teh Trust if the takeover didn't happen by end of November. Which appears to have been consistently forgotten by some as they bark from the roof-tops that we must "trust the Trust" and "there is no alternative".
bob fleming Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Is this on printed version? Can´t find it. Yes, the one that came through my front door this morning. The wife's probably hidden it. What are you doing in my house anyway?

Why is the at least two shopping lists? does Big Sam still not know how much money he got to spend yet? any other names nicko we are looking at?
The Rover of Finland Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Yes, the one that came through my front door this morning. The wife's probably hidden it. What are you doing in my house anyway? Out of sugar. Thought to borrow some.
chaddyrovers Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 here the LET article http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/blackburnrovers/news/8673684.Blackburn_Rovers_track_Aston_Villa_and_Liverpool_strikers/ Big Sam striker target will finished article. probably with PL experience striker like Cisse(ex liverpool) but whether we could afford him I don't know. Also said the takeover is close.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Carew- Decent player when fit but so's Grella. Ngog- Headless chicken. Is that the best we can do ?
Sparky Marky Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Ngog- Headless chicken. Is that the best we can do ? I don't think it would be a bad signing. He can hit the net when given the chance
adopted scouser Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Ngog- Headless chicken. Is that the best we can do ? Good enough to play up front for Liverpool and we would turn our noses up ?
Mattyblue Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Good enough to play up front for Liverpool and we would turn our noses up ? Playing for LFC aint a sign of quality these days.
nicko Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 Why is the little chance of us signing Carew? any chance of us signing Ngog? Why is the at least two shopping lists? does Big Sam still not know how much money he got to spend yet? any other names nicko we are looking at? Carew's wages are huge and he would cost a fair fee in the January window...so I don't think that one is on no matter what regime is running the transfers at Rovers. N'Gog was valued at about £6 million by Liverpool in the last window...they might take less, but his wages are also huge. From what I hear there are all sorts of names being bandied around and watched just now - not sure who is suggesting what at the moment. The waters are a bit muddy on that front. There is definitely a push on for strikers. The German lad Petersen [although he wants to stay in his homeland] and the Thite chap in Belgium have been mentioned. There are others, but there is no point mentioning them until we know [a] what is to spend and who is having the final say. The manager seems to have a short list of [1] a striker who can play up top on his own, [2] a right winger who can operate in a three-man midfield and [3] a play-maker midfielder. Gary O'Neil is getting a mention for category 2 or possible Larsson if Kentaro have control. Charlie Adam is a contender for category 3. Heard today that Adam has won his case for the missing bonus, but he has not been granted a free under breach of contract. Not sure we have heard the last of that case.
chaddyrovers Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Nicko, any chance of us signing cisse(ex liverpool striker)?
USA Rover Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Any interest in any of these guys? The keeper looks solid: My link
ada2020 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Nicko, any chance of us signing cisse(ex liverpool striker)? Hopefully none what so ever!!!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Good enough to play up front for Liverpool and we would turn our noses up ? He's still a headless chicken. Yes I would turn my nose up at him. Would you swap him for Kalinic ? I wouldn't.
nicko Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 Nicko, any chance of us signing cisse(ex liverpool striker)? Big fee, big wages, mad as a badger.
AndyNeil Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 With all this 'two/three list business, as it stands (on the surface at least) we don't appear to be any further forward than at any point during the previous transfer window Not the best situation with the clock is ticking.
ABBEY Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Big fee, big wages, mad as a badger. sounds like spit.
DanLad Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Ngog- Headless chicken. Is it right that PETA have appealed to JW not to sign N'Gog?

It's another good reason for the takeover to be completed quickly. The difference between now and the summer is that the nitty-gritty hasn't started yet. That window was wrecked by indecision. This one must not be a repeat - but at least there is some time to get the ducks in a row. Not much, mind.
