Neil Weaver Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Big fee, big wages, mad as a badger. Careful, I hear the Lord of the Manor of Frodsham can carry out capital punishment.

47er Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I do believe Mr Nixon mentioned alternative methods of funding the club by teh Trust if the takeover didn't happen by end of November. Which appears to have been consistently forgotten by some as they bark from the roof-tops that we must "trust the Trust" and "there is no alternative". The Telewag article does say the, without a takeover, the manager would have to trade in January and his transfer budget would be "non-existent". Is that no alternative enough for you? I only trust the Trust to sell, by the way, not to run the club anymore.

I'm sure I read (not in the Telewag) that £5M would be found as plan B IF the take over did not happen by the transfer window
Fylde Coast Fan Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I'd have N'Gog tbh, think given a run in a Premier League side he'd be good for the 10-15 goals we need. He's looked pretty sharp for Liverpool this season and can play as a lone striker. Not as keen on Carew, mainly due to his age - 31 I think. Is there anything to the left back talk by the way? Linked in the Mail to some French Under 21 player...

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Six of one...
Backroom trueblue Posted November 18, 2010 Backroom Posted November 18, 2010 To be fair, you're 'poo-pooing' the Telegraph, but then taking the word of a red-top tabloid. Six of one... Was it in a red top? I don't remember where I read it What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. And what's that supposed to mean?
BuckyRover Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Was it in a red top? I don't remember where I read it And what's that supposed to mean? They aren't going to give us any money unless we sell somebody (and even then we would only see about 30% of it). Never going to happen. The option is get taken over by Venky's or if that falls through we will have to survive on a negative transfer budget until we get sold to another party.
Backroom trueblue Posted November 18, 2010 Backroom Posted November 18, 2010 We'd better line them up at the auctions then coz the way this take over keeps starting and stalling.. we'll be in this situation NEXT bloody Christmas (only joking - before someone jumps on my back for selling half the squad) ah well, back to the thumb-twiddling waiting for news of the take over.

The real crisis will come when we have no-one left to sell. In terms of creativity we've already reached that point.
neophox Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Takeover completed and now we can look forward! INS: John Carew David N'gog Adam Johnson Gary O'Neil
Guest Walshy Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 anyone reckon SWP will be on his way to rovers in Jan?
Ozz Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Sightings of Santa Cruz at work are as rare as sightings of Santa Claus at work these days.
Amo Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Santa Cruz anyone? No. We got a one-off injury free season out of him and made the most of it. Resigning him would be one fat waste of time.
Guest Walshy Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 SWP & Seb Larsson on loan with a view to permanents. Pederson, Dunn & Jones middle 3 in midfield. sounds promising
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 A midfield of Larsson-Pedersen--Jones-Dunn-SWP actually looks possible/likely. I would say there is a very strong chance of SWP becoming our first signing in Jan.
bluebruce Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 SWP & Seb Larsson on loan with a view to permanents. Pederson, Dunn & Jones middle 3 in midfield. sounds promising Larsson on loan with six months of his contract left? No way. Purchase, pre-contract, or nothing.

I would say there is a very strong chance of SWP becoming our first signing in Jan. Still looks a pretty rubbish midfield. Personally I'd rather stick with Hoilett and give him gametime than sign the overrated SWP.

I would say there is a very strong chance of SWP becoming our first signing in Jan. thats a horrible midfield, swp ain't worth his wages, dunn is finished as a footballer and the major typo you put in pedersen not diouf.
The Rover of Finland Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 People are more horny than sensible here. Larsson won´t come on loan, his contract ends in 18 months. He will probably sign new deal at Brum. SWP is Kentaro´s boy so there is a minor chance to loan him. We have only one PL loan left since Mame Diouf is here already. I except players from France to arrive. Possibly Givet go other way. I bet Sam has had several great cheap players on target but couldn´t have bought even on cheap.
JAL Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I'd have N'Gog tbh, think given a run in a Premier League side he'd be good for the 10-15 goals we need. He's looked pretty sharp for Liverpool this season and can play as a lone striker. The older, maturer Liverpool supporters can not believe that N'Gog is a professional footballer let alone plying his supposed trade for the reds. That says it all about N'Gog for me, which if Allardyce is interested, is pretty consistant with the shyte attackers he seems to like.
John Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Allardyce expects constraints. He said: "You've got to keep to the reality. People will go off mentioning we're after Torres or Drogba but in terms of investment, rather than huge sums of money, it will be relatively moderate. "We will improve the squad but we will have to be diligent in our research to get the right player and spend the money wisely."
