I think we should be looking for a few high profile loanees, then splash some cash on future prospects.

Before a complete re-assessing of the squad in the summer.

I agree. Plenty of contracts running low so best to not spend crazy now & then re-assess in summer.

Loans or bargains only...lets not waste our new wealth by paying over the odds.

Carew - no more than £2m, Seb Larsson no more than £1m

Loan options - Id prefer us to go for a Premier league experienced player...perhaps Robbie Keane

We could definitely do with leaving Givet out of the team for a bit, I think it would be mutually beneficial. He's not had a great season, and has been at fault for quite a few goals we've conceded this season.

I'm not a fan of Chimbonda particularly, but he's far better going forward!

It just highlights how much we need a specialised LB!

Not sure what Robbie Keane would bring to our formation? He's hardly a target man is he.

New found wealth..........

Realistically you need to look at who is better that would want/ could afford him.

Top 5 teams (United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, City) - No Chance

Next group - Bolton (£90m DEBT already admitted they may need to sell)

Villa/ Sunderland/ Stoke (Perhaps would compete)...although Villa are more likely to go for young French lads under Houlier.

If we have the right funds available...a solid platform to ply your trade on...and plans for the future...then THIS could be a GREAT place to be in the next few years. Add to that everyone knows how well the club is run...and also with abit of luck we could be looking pretty good by Jan..

All depends on the vision going forward.

Bentley will end up at Fulham with Hughsey, Hughsey.

I never quite grasped what went wrong for Robbie Keane. Six great seasons at Spurs, captain, goes to Livepool is pretty average but treated appallingly, goes back to Spurs, frozen out due to that party shizzle, ends up at Celtic and does well (player of the year), back at Spurs frozen out again.

What's the deal?

I could see him doing well for us, but where would we play him? Right wing? Behind the main striker? We just won't go 442 for most games so there is no point buying him as a striker as he cannot play target man.

As for Bentley - he will cost a lot as there will be serious competition for his signature; and psycologically has serious questions over his head.

Ireland I think will be on crazy wages which rules that out.

As Venky's/Kentaro have said we will be looking at up and coming players. None of those mentioned fit that bill.

Interesting to see who we sign - recently the average age of our team has been around 28/29 years old (according to Radio Lancs). However, at the moment, we do have some young prospects.

Sam said after the takeover we have enough players with promise and he would like to sign players who can come straight into the first team and make an impact - that's not def to say thay will be older players I suppose.

Goals

Even if its as an impact sub...he is a fox in the box

But the point I was making is he does not fit the system does he?

I do not deny he scores goals, I would like to see him at Ewood for sure, but do you see him fitting into the formation?

And why would he swap one subs bench for another? If he moves on there will be choices for him, also its Spurs so the cost to buy would be astronomical. Even with our apparant "wealth".

Mentioned a few weeks ago as a complete head the ball.

His club Sampdoria have now asked for his contract to be terminated.

Cassano. Could we tempt him. ??????

The lad is an idiot. Has a great potential as a football player but troubles keep following him. Somehow funny way he looks like one Sam could give a shot. His wages would be a different story.

Harry wants Spurs to buy big in January. Exit door will be in use too if they buy. That´s the door we should be knocking on. Lot of great players in minor role there. Palacios has lost his regular starter status. O´Hara has no future there but will he bit fit in January? Bentley must go somewhere (Fulham seems obvious) and Crouch too. Then there are Krancjar, Dos Santos and Jenas. The last name I would avoid.

Harry admitted the other day that he was still looking to bring in some players, which will likely led to a number of fringe players being shown the door. Bentley would be one of them, but I don't see him coming back to us after he thought he was on the way to bigger and better things! The likes of O'Hara, Krancjar and Dos Santos would all be worth looking at. I was disappointed that we didn't make a move for O'Hara in the summer and would love to have him in our midfield. I think Krancjar is one of the best midfielders in the league, but just can't get a look in over Bale, Lennon, Modric and Van Der Vaart. I'd go and pick him up from Spurs myself if it meant he would sign. I though Dos Santos had a very good World Cup and is another player who would had some much needed pace and invention to our team. Out of all these players, I would say that O'Hara would be the most realistic signing.

O'Hara hasn't played all season due to a broken back we have enough crocked midfielders without risking going for him until he has proved his fitness

If he could someway pass the medical we could make an offer just before the window ends. Spurs are probably looking new comers in final minutes in the window. They could sell O`Hara on discount. But he isn´t the one we should be looking first.

Bloody hell! that's a bit of an exaggeration "broken back" it's a stress fracture and is a common sports injury. Any concerns would be what caused it and is it likely to return (IE posture related or was it from impact and failed to be diagnosed at the time) As you say proof of fitness is essential.

12m we could clear spuds peelings up nicely, Krancjar, O'Hara and Dos Santos, shopping under one roof normally is more stress free, so they say, not in this case unfortunately.

Just been watching Revista De La Liga on Sky Sports 1 just now, and it said that Rovers offer 7 million euros from Osvaldo from Espanyol. Guillem Balague just said, and He is a Espanyol fan aswell. Don't know whether we just made that bid recently(since we been took over) or in the summer. Also said that they don't want to sell now and keep the team together and sell 3 or 4 players in the summer

here is profile on Skysports website

Chris Commons having another good season, wonder how long before a Prem club make a move for him.

I reckon he'd fit in well at Liverpool.

You have heard of E Diouf?

Osvaldo, come on they only signed him for 5million this season and its hardly as if they are strapped for cash. Espanyol are 4th in La liga as well. We may have bid for him but he's not coming.

Well he most certainly isn't a good centre back on any evidence I've seen.

e

Really??? My thoughts are he's a cracking pro whose best position is centre back but who's someone who can also do a job at left back and who never throws his dummy out like many of the so-called 'professional' footballers.
