Mr. E Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 you've answered your own question. We don't need anymore non-scoring strikers He's scored in double digits the past couple of seasons - if that's not good enough, are we aiming for 20+ goalscorers now?

Amo Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 We've got plenty of 'triers', we need to spend our money on some real quality.
Mr. E Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 We've got plenty of 'triers', we need to spend our money on some real quality. well if we have 20 million, maybe we can buy a 20+ goals a season striker. I am not aware if that is the case, however.
Amo Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 well if we have 20 million, maybe we can buy a 20+ goals a season striker. I am not aware if that is the case, however. There are talented players out there who won't cost a king's ransom. Players who are out of favour, fallen by the wayside, or simply waiting to be scouted.

Amo Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 ...like Eric Huseklepp? Try to keep up. For a striker in the Norwegian league, he's not exactly prolific. Players like Lewandowski and Dzeko, who we missed out on in the past, are the type of signings we should be scouting.

He is know probably worth 25 million +
SamTheShrew Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Hopefully we are fishing in slightly bigger ponds now - Huseklepp sounds like someone we would have targeted pre-takeover a la Popov, Avdic
LWX Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Personally I'm shocked we would even entertain the idea of bringing Santa Cruz back... we already know he is very injury prone! Sam - please steer clear!!!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I just wonder what our 'warchest' will be come January? 'Sam Allardyce would love to bring Roque Santa Cruz back to Blackburn - but is unsure whether a deal for the striker would fall within the budget of the club's new owners. CHEQUE PLEASE!
budha Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I would imagine him being on about £80k/w at City, so he would be looking to pocket £2M in the spring alone. That makes a permanent transfer very unlikely. A loan deal with a fee and City paying half of his wages sounds reasonable, but even that would cost something like £2,5M - for max 15-20 games.
SamTheShrew Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 It would depend on how much he wanted to play football wouldn't it. He is hardly in a position to ask for more than he was on here previously
bluebruce Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 He's scored in double digits the past couple of seasons - if that's not good enough, are we aiming for 20+ goalscorers now? When looking at strikers in the Norweigan league? Of course we are.
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Roque deal sounds a possible one if you listen to Sam's interview on radio lancs. Audio at the bottom of this page: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/blackburn_rovers/9233068.stm
BigJackWalker Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 It does seem like he is very intrested wooo be good i think
Hughesy Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Id only be happy with Roque on these terms Loan until summer to prove fitness with price agreed Same contract as when he left An apology that the grass isnt always greener elsewhere - with a promise he will honour his contract aslong as the club want him
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 A bigger challenge would be to keep our vince fit for 6 months! You mean 6 games don't you !
Backroom Tom Posted November 26, 2010 Backroom Posted November 26, 2010 Id only be happy with Roque on these terms Loan until summer to prove fitness with price agreed Same contract as when he left An apology that the grass isnt always greener elsewhere - with a promise he will honour his contract aslong as the club want him I agree with the first two, not too bothered about the third, don't blame him for leaving. He would be bound to say stuff like that anyway as every player does at a new club, remember Lucas Neil and his talk of Volcanoes after going to Wet Spam?
Bobby G Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Samba could be one of the friend's Roque still has at the club.
ada2020 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Can't help but feel the roque move will happen, all the right people are making all the right noises.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Id only be happy with Roque on these terms Loan until summer to prove fitness with price agreed Same contract as when he left An apology that the grass isnt always greener elsewhere - with a promise he will honour his contract aslong as the club want him I agree with TCO. I'll be happy with the first two but I am not bothered about the 3rd one because at the time it was the right move for him and for us. We got more money than anyone expected for an injury-prone player. Without that transfer, I dread to think what mess we'd be in and who else would have gone to balance the books. Obviously we'll never know but maybe Samba could have been the next one out of Ewood had Roque stayed or left for a lot less. I'll welcome him back with open arms. He's a quality football player.
gumboots Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Big Chris wants to see Santa in January. Pedersen definitely out tomorrow didn't he say?
Exiled_Rover Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Santa Cruz can come back if he lines up and kisses the arse of every season ticket holder.
HemelRover Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Santa Cruz can come back if he lines up and kisses the arse of every season ticket holder. and once he has done that we will then give Man City their £16mil back?
