AggyBlue Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Santa Cruz can come back if he lines up and kisses the arse of every season ticket holder. I still wouldn't have him back
AggyBlue Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 On footballing grounds? No. I hated the way he behaved in engineering a move away from us. Plus he's crocked.
Torgeir Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 No. I hated the way he behaved in engineering a move away from us. Plus he's crocked. I'm glad he did. He was never worth £18 million pounds, even after his first season for us. I'd welcome him back on loan or on a cheap. He can play upfront alone and also links up very well with a strike partner.
Hughesy Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Thats what I hate most about him too...the way when we needed him he didnt care because he wanted to move...that and all the 'lost in translation' interviews. Hence why I would love to see him admit he got it wrong
Backroom Tom Posted November 27, 2010 Backroom Posted November 27, 2010 I appreciate the point of view but also understand sadly it's just how football is now. He had earned himself a move to a bigger club in honesty as we were going nowhere fast. Agreed he could have gone about it better though. Anyone else think Niko will be back in Croatia come summer?
HemelRover Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Hence why I would love to see him admit he got it wrong How did he get it wrong? He got a massive pay rise and if he had kept the fitness level he had with us in his first season then he would've been a great player for City.

Roque went to City because he got it wrong by believing in his own hype...just like Bentley did. He is a very good player as a key man in our team like ours...he is very average in a squad full of talent....Abit like Adam Johnson. He too was daft for going City.
HemelRover Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Roque went to City because he got it wrong by believing in his own hype...just like Bentley did.Youve not said how he got it wrong, youve just stated why he left. He is a very good player as a key man in our team like ours...he is very average in a squad full of talentand getting paid bucket loads for doing so ....Abit like Adam Johnson. He too was daft for going City.Oh yeah, he has really suffered by moving to City. Regular in the England squad/team and on a sizeable chunk more than he would be getting at Rovers
Hughesy Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 If you cannot see that Johnson is being held back by sitting on the bench until 70 mins each game, then its no wonder some of these players cannot see it either, especially when an extra 20k is waved at them. If Johnson is doing so great at City why is the rumours he will look to move if he doesnt start to get more 1st team football??

If Johnson is doing so great at City why is the rumours he will look to move if he doesnt start to get more 1st team football?? Johnson killed it at City last season and the beginning of this, but as he is so young he is having a natural dip in form(This will happen with Phil Jones, Wilshire, Albrighton etc). This has nothing to do with being at City(except maybe that the expectations and exposure is higher) Lets say for arguments sake he did come to Rovers in Jan last year rather than City. Lets also say he had the same impact as he did there. He would still have a dip in form as he is only a youngster. He is a good few years away from those comfortably consistant years that will be ahead of him. However, he got into the england team quicker than he would as a Rovers player. He gets more headlines than he would at Rovers. He is playing with, and learning from, better players than he would at Rovers and he is getting paid more than he would at Rovers.
S15 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Johnson killed it at City last season and the beginning of this Killed what?

The only thing that is relevant in your post is that in bold. RSC at 4 million is heads above anyone else out there for a similar price, is proven at this level, and could slot right in. RSC could also be the perfect player to really bring Niko on. Personally I'm quite excited about this link. A quality player has to come before pride
John Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Recently, Roque seems unable to stay fit for a period of time, surely there lies the problem?
dingles staying down 4ever Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 The only thing that is relevant in your post is that in bold. Personally I'm quite excited about this link. A quality player has to come before pride If he can stay fit and has the desire to re estabilish himself! I agree for the money there is no player with his ability available for our money. If he has not got either then it is money down the drain!
SamTheShrew Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 But we have seen what he can do when fit In all fairness to the lad I wouldn't judge him until he was deemed match fit - something he is never going to be at City. If he was fit enough to be playing regularly, its a gamble worth taking
AJW Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 please get both Kranjar and Ireland in.............. thats all i ask for. Can Ireland move? 3 clubs in 1 season and all that? i'm pretty sure he started the season at city , the same way Milner started at Villa
Majiball Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Can Ireland move? 3 clubs in 1 season and all that? i'm pretty sure he started the season at city , the same way Milner started at Villa But did he play for City?
Ricky Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Doesn't matter maj, he was registered to them.
Majiball Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Generally speaking, and with regard to the application of the pertinent rule, ie. Article 5 Paragraph 3 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, the regulation should be applied as stated.’ This rule dictates that a player can be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season but can only play for two of them — with the sole exception of a move between clubs with overlapping seasons. SamTheShrew Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Villa won't cash in on him anyway, and I doubt he would move on so soon - non starter for me
philipl Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 RSC was for me the best all round striker the club has had since Shearer- he was awesome in that first season with us. And he was pretty well behaved over his departure- there was a clause in his contract and Sparky eventually drove Cook up to that number. Big issue is fitness. Positives are we still have the backroom people at Ewood who glued him together the first time and I tend to discount the time Ince and the dinosaurs were running the show at Ewood as they were utterly clueless- they couldn't even keep fit footballers in peak condition. Negative is when I saw RSC's movement in his cameo appearances for Paraguay, he looked like a man whose career was over. But then so did Torres for Spain. Then there is the little problem of monopoly money wages- depends how much City will pay him to get rid I suppose.
The Gull Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I don't believe he has been injured much this season has he? I thought he just couldn't get a game and was left out of squad lists? The medical team at Rovers will know Rowue inside out and I'm sure they will be asked for their opinion by Sam. If all believe he can get to match fitness, although he made need to be wrapped in cotton wool for a while, I see his potential signing as a massive boost to the squad.
AJW Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Maybe city will still contribute towards his wage if we take him on loan ala bellamy at cardiff
