PAFELL Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Once a blue, always a blue? Well it should be. But for some on here it can sometimes depend on who the owners or the manager is. If they are not happy, they throw the teddy out. (not refering to yourself)

Majiball Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Wasn't Janko Ince's target too? Every man loves a Janko!!! Well it should be. But for some on here it can sometimes depend on who the owners or the manager is. If they are not happy, they throw the teddy out. (not refering to yourself) The lad must have spent the best part of his life dreaming of pulling on our shirt in the premier league. He's only just achieved that and given he looks like he could become a real player. surely he'd want to try and take Rovers further. With new money (touch wood) coming as well he has a chance to become a local hero, for the club he loves. Maybe by 25-26 he might look to move on and grace a larger stage, should we have not achieved that.
steo Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 apparently were fighting it out with liverpool for gilberto silva. can't see it myself, his wages would surely be high but wouldn't it be great to have someone in midfield who isn't afraid of the ball.
sweet Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Someone who is 35, and has no legs anymore. would love to see the reaction of liverpool fans if they signed him!
MeanGreenMachine Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Someone who is 35, and has no legs anymore. Even a no legged Silva cant be worse then Grella, Andrews, Goulon and whoever else has a crack at dmc in Fonzi's absence.
Majiball Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Can't say I'm really getting enthused by the players we are being linked with. Silva, 35 no thanks. We ever seem to get linked with the same players over and over, heres hoping we are looking elsewhere.
Fife Rover Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Can't say I'm really getting enthused by the players we are being linked with. Silva, 35 no thanks. Majiball Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Nobody's mentioned Luca Toni.........................................yet!!!! Thanks for that I'm off to the doctors to get some selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.
47er Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 The number of mid-fielders we have at the club now is ludicrous. We surely must get rid of some rather than just adding more? The problem is we'd have to pay them off---particularly Ince's great acquisitions!
Majiball Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Emerton to miss 10 games? With Chimbonda potentially out the door will we need RB cover?? I have to add I can't believe I'm asking that since we've signed a couple hundred of the buggers. The number of mid-fielders we have at the club now is ludicrous. We surely must get rid of some rather than just adding more? The problem is we'd have to pay them off---particularly Ince's great acquisitions! Get in a new one asap and then deal with it afterwards. Its far more important we deal with the lack of quality in there. Hopefully Venky's can cover the extra wages.
Sparky Marky Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Out - Andrews, Grella, Dunn, Chimbonda, Emerton In - Kebe, Bellamy, Ireland, Wheater and where's Finnan these days?
joey_big_nose Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Out - Andrews, Grella, Dunn, Chimbonda, Emerton In - Kebe, Bellamy, Ireland, Wheater and where's Finnan these days? Why would we get rid of Dunn and Emerton? Both not brilliant, but decent enough bench options. And why in God's name would we want Finnan!?!
Amo Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Out - Andrews, Grella, Dunn, Chimbonda, Emerton In - Kebe, Bellamy, Ireland, Wheater and where's Finnan these days? Are you talking in January? Who the frig is going to buy Andrews & Grella when they've been crocked all season?
bluebruce Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Are you talking in January? Who the frig is going to buy Andrews & Grella when they've been crocked all season? Wonder if Paul Ince could be persuaded of their merits...
Oklahoma Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 We should at least loan some of these midfielders if the other club pays part or all of their wages before we sign more players. The problem is that we have so many midfielders and most of them are not good enough. They are either young, unexperienced, injured or simply bad.
John Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 We are so top heavy too, in terms of numbers, with average midfielders
The Rover of Finland Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 We are so top heavy too, in terms of numbers, with average midfielders Yet we have central defender playing there every match.

How have Vukveciv been doing at Sporting Lisbon this season?
sweet Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Yet we have central defender playing there every match. We have Jones playng as an anchorman, big difference, who would you prefer in that role?
John Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Jones is playing there because we still don't have a ball winner or someone who can get stuck in - Grella could do this role well, IMO, but is always injured. Going through some of the midfielders below, you can describe most of the players as very average. Grella can't stay fit Andrews squad player at very best Dunn can't stay fit, even though cannot play central midfield (has to play a more advanced role) Pedersen - hit and miss, improved this season but can he sustain his recent positive contributions? Younger end of the scale (unlikely to be on high wages) Nzonzi – did well last seson but injured for most of this one Linganzi – don’t know Goulon – don’t know We have some players of "promise" - Junior and Olsson but both have a long way to go before we can say they are major players for us. Diouf is probably our best, most gifted midfielder at the moment.
Oklahoma Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 How have Vukveciv been doing at Sporting Lisbon this season? He is not a first team player this season. The new manager changed the tactics and he is regularly used but a lot of times as a substitute. Sporting would probably sell him.

Oklahoma Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 Diouf is probably our best, most gifted midfielder at the moment. QUite depressing... But I still think Pedersen is our best midfielder at the moment.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 And that in a nutshell is how bad our midfield truly is. I couldn't agree more , it's the lack of quality in midfield that is killing us at the moment.
