Falcao and Hulk from FC Porto for the attack.

Moutinho for midfield.

Alvaro Pereira for left back.

That would be perfect. My Rovers would be stronger, FC Porto would be worse

I have no idea how much Benfica want for Cardozo but I think it would be arround 25 million €.

Anyway, I doubt they would sell, since he is by far their best striker.

Rovers could ask for some help from the Benfica scouts. They discovered Cardozo, Falcão, Alvaro Pereira, Deco, Jardel...

So, we're looking for a box-to-box midfielder.

How about Bradley Johnson from Leeds?

Naturally left footed, had a big fall out with Leeds, wouldn't cost the earth, can also play at left back and chips in with a fair few goals as well.

I've seen him play quite a few times and seems like a no brainer to me.

Falcao looks like he's turning into an awesome player, I think he might show up in the PL sooner or later. It would surprise me a lot if it was in a Rovers shirt, though...

I do hope that Venky's are not thinking of binning Sam and appointing some sort of "yes" man who has no real power and just tries to train a bunch of players that Kentaro cobbles together. That won't work.

Still can't believe that Newcastle sacked Hughton, if Rovers did get shot of Allardyce then I'd be happy with Hughton.

Me too but one can dream, right?

I think he will end up in one of top clubs of Europe. Benfica "found" him but Porto, after news that he was in negotiations with Benfica, went there and outbid Benfica. They have done it before :angry2:

He's terrible, from the Keith Andrews mould i.e. decent in League 1, Poor in Championship, should never get a look in at Premier League level.

We are now at a point where the problematic potential clash I pointed out here [and in the Sunday People] has come to a head.

But you write that Allardyce is SET to meet the new board. They might say 'you have total control over transfers.'

I suppose that's not quite as good a headline though.

I know. Palermo has done some pretty good deals lately. Ilicic, Bacinovic etc. Slovenia is the place to go when looking for football players!

There and Bosnia. Some very talented players are coming out of Bosnia at the moment.

As for Kentaro advising on what players Sam should sign, this could spell disaster. It may be that they are compiling a list of potential transfer targets to help Sam out, but if they start dictating what players we should sign, then I don't see it working out well. No manager should be told what players to buy. He's the one who sees the team every day in training and knows what he needs and what type of player would fit in. Kentaro could be a very useful scouting network which could lead us to some good players, but it HAS to be Sam who has the final say.

Paffell, didn't you post on the kentaro thread only last night that we should not be speculating in this currently?

Correct I did. As I believe that until we know more - good or bad - at this moment in time we should not speculate. I have had though PM's come to me that cause me, as an individual concern, as a supporter of Rovers. But to those who have PM'd me I have chosen to sit on the fence until I learn more.

If a poster, philip etc want to post things like the 'criss depends' etc. That is his, their choice. He or others may have heard or based an opinion on a subject that causes them concern. But are not in a position to say further - can be various reasons for that. I think we should except that.

All we can do is wait and see how things turn out. That is my position. It is so because I do not know either way - therefore I won't speculate. But things / opinions can change by the minute, day etc in most areas of life.

But from what we have read in the media, at the moment the mirror / LET does indicate that things, at this moment are, shall we say under discussion. It involves money, transfer, who has who has not a say in the running of the club - or pecking orders. Which is expected under new ownership in any business. So we know from sources, media that there are a few rumblings, large or small who knows - I don't.

Therefore knowing and believing this, I wait and sit on the fence not forming an opinion until another time. I hope that explains what I meant about speculation.

But I do not think it is not right to deride / mock somebody, believe they have hidden agendas etc etc, especially when we do not know if they have or not. Other posters who have or can recieve things they hear from within the club - but are limited to what they can say or not say. Some would have an opinion that maybe they should just keep quiet. But I do not agree with that view - although others are perfectly entitled to differ. But by putting snippets on here they are letting us know that there are some development happening = good or bad that we may want to be awhere of. Nicko does it with his 11 O'clocker scoopy doos - nobody complains about that. Even though it can be a bit of a wind up - most of us enjoy it. But it is the same thing.

Poor in the Championship, you say?

7 goals in 26 starts last season doesn't sound bad to me for a midfielder.

Crikey, if we judged every Championship against Keith we'd never sign anyone.

Johnson's career is heading in the right direction and I reckon he'd be a big asset to us.

Raher have Sam too, Hughton still is a boring personality and doesn't really command respect.

a biggish ego player would walk all over him.

Is that why it has been reported that the dressing room at newcastle are outraged at the sacking because he didn't have the players respect. look who is in that squad with biggish egos now, barton, nolan, smith, carrol who can be in the media for things outside of football. But he has got them playing. He got them to stay with the club when they were relegated. He got them promoted. The way hougton was treated by the owner of newcastle is a disgrace. He had the respect of the team. It is the owner of newcastle who has no respect.

If you think that is what is going to be said I will bow to your knowledge...

FFS.

Even the local paper have grasped the fact there is an issue here.

And a big one at that.

Not like you to follow the local papers lead.

If you have sourced information that suggests Allardyce isn't going to be given control of transfers, print that.

All I was saying is The Mirror piece reads poorly. If you disagree then fine, but there is nothing in the article to back up what you're saying, and combined with the red top reputation, how do you expect people to treat that fact?

I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable but has Elano really gone to Santos for 2.9m euros.

He is the type of attacking player who would have been perfect for us, he's also been represented by S.E.M in the past.

Wikipedia states he signed for them on 31st November 2010
