budha Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Jo is probably fit, but not playing. Heskey is enjoying life under Houllier. Denni Avdić is still at Elfsborg.
Neil Weaver Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 What was the name of that striker we had on trial a few years ago - who definitely couldn't run the 100m in under 10 seconds - despite numerous papers reporting this. You mean the bloke who's wiki entry was edited? Can't remember who did that, can you?
Andy3809 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 What has happened to Jamie O Hara this year? Had a great last season with pompy and fits the bill for the kind of midfielder were lacking. Would possibly be available and at a decent price...

Would possibly be available and at a decent price... Was getting touted for around £6 million before his injury - could be a little less now - might take up all of our budget though!
Sparky Marky Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 must be a cock if he's impregnated Danielle Lloyd.....now there's one for the TV tossers on the other side of the forum.
Amo Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Andrés D'Alessandro - if we can afford him (don't know how much he's rated at these days). Lively, exciting player ideal for the 'second striker' role. It would stop us relying so much on Dunn.
Backroom Tom Posted October 27, 2010 Backroom Posted October 27, 2010 When we talk about ones we missed does anybody remember when Tom Huddlestone was continuously linked under Hughes? We could have picked him up dirt cheap I imagine and just think about the difference someone like him would have made over the years For me we need to look for a playmaker before a striker, we are painfully devoid of any creativity.

Look what we could have made on him if the Trust hadn't sat on their hands, as usual...
Majiball Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 When we picked up Santa Cruz, David Bentley, Ryan Nelsen, Stephen Warnock, Chris Samba, Craig Bellamy and Benni McCarthy for absolute peanuts, not having Tom Huddlestone hasn't bothered me in hindsight. He does hit a pretty good long pass.
AlanSheppard Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Nicko reports in the Mirror that the first of the proposed Venky money will go on Seb Larsson and an 18 year old Manchester City reserve striker. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-News-Blackburn-s-new-owners-the-VH-Group-are-planning-to-sign-Birmingham-s-Sebastian-Larsson-and-Manchester-City-s-John-Guidetti-article614609.html Larsson seems solid enough though I'm not sure he'd add much in the way of extra attacking threat. Probably an improvement on what we have at the moment though. As for Giudetti, I think we need someone up front who'll be able to go straight into the team rather than a promising youngster.

Larsson is Swedish not Danish.
ada2020 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 What about Rio Coker? Is he still at Villa? Yep, but getting on well under the new regime.
brian_gallagher85 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 And has just been offered a new contract by Houllier.
budha Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Larsson could be the replacement for Bentley we've been waiting for 2½ years. Both Swedes would be home grown players too. I like the idea.
Hughesy Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 What about Rio Coker? Is he still at Villa? Over paid - average midfielder We need to aim for better players, younger with smaller wages whom we can make a profit on....he is also well in with Houllier
neophox Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Larsson is a very good right midfelder, just what we needs. Could be the Bentley injection we had before. And John Guidetti is a very promising young player.
Laurence Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 What about Rio Coker? Is he still at Villa? He could be the new Benjani.....
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Charlie Adam could soon be looking for a new club: Blackpool Captain Charlie Adam taking Blackpool to Court I've seen him a few times and i've always been impressed with his performances.

He was linked to us last January. Maybe we use that £5M to him?

T4E Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Surely being so closely linked to an agency is going to leave us open to all sorts of tapping up allegations?
chaddyrovers Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 One player I would like to sign is Axel Witsel of Standard Liege. A very good young player and a midfield playermaker that we need! he's sign with SEM who are in partnership with Kentaro. Seb Larrson is a good player and can cross a ball. Him and Diouf on wings would be good. Fairly cheap deal for us aswell. http://www.semplc.com/content/sem-sign-belgian-international-midfielder
