nicko Posted December 9, 2010 Author Posted December 9, 2010 So Sam isn't on 'collision course' with the new owners? He was...and he still may be again. And he is not the only one. But perhaps everyone who did their homework on the story was wrong. Or perhaps not. Nicko- the fact that we are looking at younger players is away from what Sam was thinking and saying about purchasing an experienced striker, do you think Sam is happy with this or is simply following orders? The midfielder I know about would be in the 'improving' category. There are so many strikers being discussed just now that is is scary...and they are young and old, domestic and foreign. In an ideal world it would be someone with experience and preferably of the Premier League. But that's all very well in theory. As usual, finding names and buying them are two different things. Only difference from recent times is that this time the owners seem keen to spend a bit. When you say there is a 'top target', do you mean it as in 'we have a list and this guy is top of it' or 'this guy is class innit, well top'? Top target as in 'first choice' if he can be signed. If you ever hear me say 'innit' you have my permission to shoot me.

SamTheShrew Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I wouldn't want Robbie Keane at all - there is a player on a fast downward spiral
47er Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Would prefer SWP on loan tbh There is no other one player remotely within our budget who could make such a difference to our squad. After his humiliation at Spuds he will be hungry to prove his worth too. If there is any possibility of getting him, we should go for it. Its a no-brainer imo. Whoops-------I'm talking about Bentley!! SWP not in his class.
S15 Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Bentley, Bellamy and Santa Cruz (and his training buddy) please. Can't think of a more fool proof plan.
Oklahoma Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 You would have to buy one and loan the other. Total cost of that would be astronomic - and on two players who are on the wrong side of Ambition Hill. Think you will find the captures are of younger and up-and-coming players. Watch this space... Sure hope so! I want the club to grow, not to become an even bigger retirement home...

The cynical side of me says you are rubbishing every non-Kentaro player who gets mentioned Mr Nixon. The up-and-coming ones don't happen to be Kentaro clients do they??? The big exclusive about the meeting in India and the transfer crunch talks had actually been in the Sunday People red-top and 'broken' by Charlie Nicholas on Sky. If you mean 'already been out' rather than 'reliable' then I would have to agree... So why have Kentaro got to announce what they are doing through their own clients in the media? STRIKER...still looking. MIDFIELD...think they have a top target...waiting to find out how far it has gone. Game on. So do I translate that as Kentaro are struggling to find a striker but they have found a midfielder? Game on = the fight between the Rovers and Kentaro is happening?
S15 Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 FFS Phil get a grip. I had my gripe at nicko's initial story but let's not confuse that with your personal agenda.

The personal crusade is just a little boring
Roberto Policano Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Aye, one of them was a bit goofy and overweight. The one off to Palmeiras in January?.

Majiball Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Traitor. CV not good enough for Brockhall. What can I say blew my own chances there. But seriously after some of the stuff I've posted on here, I think my chances of working for Rovers are slim. The midfielder I know about would be in the 'improving' category. Is he from Belgium then? The one off to Palmeiras in January?. Really, what a fall from grace.

Majiball Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 1 million to get Bentley back for the rest of the season doesn't sound too shabby. Still far from convinced he'd want to and I suspect his fulham move will be rekindled.
Roberto Policano Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Really, what a fall from grace. It's looking that way, unless someone arrives from the shadows.Shakhtar would take him,but player not interested. Milan would let him go for free,to anyone picking up his £141,000 a-week wages, why not throw your hat in the ring. Roma accepted a 3 million Euro bid for Adriano from Corinthians yesterday.Just leaves player and club to sort out contract now and that could happen too.

Backroom Tom Posted December 9, 2010 Backroom Posted December 9, 2010 Bentley back would be a dream for me he'd be perfect to replace Dunn, don't care about his past or attitude he oozes class on the pitch.
MeanGreenMachine Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 Anything in the Jose Enrique links Nicko? I really rate him as a full back, infact bar the obvious i dont think there is much better in the premiership.
steo Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Roberto you know a lot about foreign football, how much would dagoberto cost from sau paulo?

Roberto Policano Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Roberto you know a lot about foreign football, how much would dagoberto cost from sau paulo? Currently about 8 million Euro's.£6.5 million your money?.
Commondore Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Roma accepted a 3 million Euro bid for Adriano from Corinthians yesterday.Just leaves player and club to sort out contract now and that could happen too. But he's fit (as in "not injured") isn't he? Is this all from the fact that Ranieri doesn't like him, or have there been more episodes in Adriano's private life?
T4E Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Don't tease. Literally my favourite ever Rovers player. Is Jamie Redknapp your favourite pundit?
Roberto Policano Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 But he's fit (as in "not injured") isn't he? Is this all from the fact that Ranieri doesn't like him, or have there been more episodes in Adriano's private life? The plan was for Adriano to fight for a place with Totti,Menez & Vucinic,Roma never expected Milan to offer Borriello on a years loan 3 days before the window shut & Baptista was meant to join Galatasaray last day of the window, but changed his mind. Adriano then pulled a muscle in his back the week before the season was due to start and was out for 3 weeks.Menez has been on fire so far.So the situation has dictated to conspire against him. Roma need to sell to buy,so moving him out helps them in that regard. Only way he could stay is if City went after Vucinic again in January like they did in June.He rejected the offer then and would probably do so again.

Cannot see this ever happening...
