47er Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 As a player or as a signing? For us I'd sign Beckham and put him in the middle, but I'm considering the exposure we'd get in signing him. We'd get the exposure alright but do you want to sell chicken or get Premier League points?

47er Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Michael Carrick is my guess Him and Grella and Keef will get to know each other well!
chaddyrovers Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Sam Allardyce insists he is still in charge of signing new players at Blackburn NOT Jerome Anderson http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-boss-Sam-Allardyce-adamant-he-has-the-final-say-on-transfer-dealings-not-Kentaro-group-article648655.html
Exiled_Rover Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Him and Grella and Keef will get to know each other well! Neither of those two are fit to clean his boots. Literally and metaphorically.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 We'd get the exposure alright but do you want to sell chicken or get Premier League points? A bit harsh imo. Pace was never an aspect of Beckham's game so advancing years shouldn't be too much of an issue. He's still a class act and his phenomenal marketability would be a huge bonus. I could see him doing a job for a middling Premier League outfit playing in front of the back four, bringing the ball out and picking passes. On second thoughts, probably not for us! Michael Carrick is my guess I reckon he'd be the thick end of £20 mill as well as being highly reluctant to join us.
Majiball Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 We'd get the exposure alright but do you want to sell chicken or get Premier League points? You don't think DB is better than anything we currently have, bizarre. He can pass a football.

67splitscreen Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Lenox and Sam sparring, winner the champion of the Raos.
Torgeir Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Are we finally signing Alexis Sanches from Udinese?
Roberto Policano Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Hows Cassano coming along is he any nearer to joining Rovers??? lol. Decision due Monday midday,50-50 whether it go's Sampdoria's way. All seems a little silly with the window about to open anyway. Still have to fancy Milan to land him in my opinion, especially if Ronny does up sticks.Inter,Juve & Fiorentina cannot be ruled out though.Personally i don't see the boys in manchester getting involved. Rafa is now a dead man walking.I think it's safe to say the grim reaper is right behind him & about to swing.
Roberto Policano Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Is Mr X MKII Eden Hazard? Not unless your owners are going to part with around £18 million. Xherdan Shaqiri Half of Europe seems to be after him.Has anyone seen him play?,i certainly haven't Wonder if we are could be interest in Cluj striker Lacina Traore? Half of Europe after him too. Midfield target - Giovani dos Santos? Keeps getting offered around Italy.Tell's you he could be one his way come January. Are we finally signing Alexis Sanches from Udinese? No
47er Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 You don't think DB is better than anything we currently have, bizarre. He can pass a football. To answer you and DGS------------yes I think Beckham is better than anything we have------ HYPOTHETICALLY. Age, injuries and his off-field ventures mean we'd see him very little. Its his crosses and free-kicks that would impact but Pedersen does pretty well in that regard as does Olssen when he's fit. Waste of money better spent elsewhere. If we are looking for a wide player I'd go for pace anyway.
Stuart Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 47er. Could you not see Beckham being effective in the Tugay role though?

David Beckham can play 30 and 40 yard balls accurately, he has a great mentality and attitude, would have a presence on the park and would lift the club and Team to another level!!
47er Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 47er. Could you not see Beckham being effective in the Tugay role though? That position would nullify his raking crosses but I could see him being effective if he was fit and motivated and not representing the UN at a Third World Sports Conference. He is the biggest name in football but not on the pitch. Is it because the target is another of Spurs players, Kranjcar maybe, and its a loan deal? And the reason then that Bentley is a no go is that Bentley is also a loan and you cant loan more than one player from a Premier League club? That's clever thinking and I notice Nicko hasn't answered you! By that same reckoning it could be Dos Santos.
AJW Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Midfield target - Giovani dos Santos? good shout
AJW Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Half of Europe seems to be after him.Has anyone seen him play?,i certainly haven't played well and scored for Switzerland against England earlier in season ,tricky left footer in the Adam Johnson mould currently plays for Basel , but wont be there long , will probably end up in Germany .....class act

chaddyrovers Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Article in the LET:- Big Sam is saying that he's NOT WORRIED BY KENTARO!!! Also said that He has already started drawing up my January transfer list! He says that I dont see that they will become involved in the transfer policy situation. I think they may be advising but, in terms of real targets, me and John will be looking after that situation. when the article is on the LET website I will post a link to the article!
nicko Posted December 11, 2010 Author Posted December 11, 2010 I think the Chelsea situation has to be watched. Ancelotti wants to spend in January - and Roman has said yes. Better keep an eye on VIP box at Bolton tomorrow methinks...
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 47er. Could you not see Beckham being effective in the Tugay role though? No, been tried there for England on several occasions and the game just passes him by. Not a good tackler or header of the ball , can't beat a man to save his life. Seems to find it difficult to find the same time and space in midfield as he did out wide. One paced, reluctant to use his left foot- apart from that he's world beater. Let's sign him- Not !

AggyBlue Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Yes, I would think Jones could be a target there too!! He's in London today too
