Decision due Monday midday,50-50 whether it go's Sampdoria's way.

All seems a little silly with the window about to open anyway.

Still have to fancy Milan to land him in my opinion, especially if Ronny does up sticks.Inter,Juve & Fiorentina cannot be ruled out though.Personally i don't see the boys in manchester getting involved.

Rafa is now a dead man walking.I think it's safe to say the grim reaper is right behind him & about to swing.

Hasn't Cassano said that staying in Genova is the only option, with a pregnant wife?

One of my favourite players, not second to anyone on his day. I highly doubt that moving to England would be good for him though- I reckon Genoa would be the best destination.

I think the Chelsea situation has to be watched. Ancelotti wants to spend in January - and Roman has said yes.

Better keep an eye on VIP box at Bolton tomorrow methinks...

Didn't Big Sam says when the takeover was done that it meant that we didn't need to sell any of our best young players!!! Also who say that Jones wants to go? he's a local lad and a fan of Rovers!!!!!

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea show up.

Ancelotti wants a centre half, Roman is ready to give him cash.

If they went for Jones it would certainly be a test for all concerned.

Just because we don't HAVE to sell, doesn't mean we WON'T. If Chelsea make an offer too good to refuse, it would be business sense to accept it and reinvest it into the squad.

I agree , there's no way i want to see Jones leave , but every player has a price and IF that price is reached i really hope the whole amount is used to strengthen the team , because we've not seen that in recent years

No, been tried there for England on several occasions and the game just passes him by. Not a good tackler or header of the ball , can't beat a man to save his life. Seems to find it difficult to find the same time and space in midfield as he did out wide. One paced, reluctant to use his left foot- apart from that he's world beater. Let's sign him- Not !

And that's exactly what George Best said about him when Beckham was in his prime ! Something like "can't dribble, can't head it, can't tackle"!

Don't care how tempting the offer is, its not even worth considering and hopefully the club reject any overtures that come there way.

If the mandate truly is to push on then players like Jones need to be kept, regardless.

To my complete astonishment, I heartily agree with you!

That was just Bull @#/? to try and get Garrone to change his mind. He's already said he's not joining Genoa.

Chelsea will surely go after David Luiz if they need a defender?.

All right then. Got a game to go to.

But will name the big money 'midfield' target in the People tomorrow.

Feel free to stab at Mister X.

My money is on someone getting it right.

Couple of clues. It's NOT Luca Toni. But he is foreign - and has Premier League experience.

The fee would be [arguably] a record.

Final word on it until the story comes out.

Enjoy.

Really? Isn't the Ajax model about developing young players and selling them for a small fortune? That's the kind of path a club of our size should be emulating. There's a lot riding on Phil Jones. Do we hope he becomes the next Bobby Moore or do we take £20m and sign 3-4 quality players to strengthen the squad? That's a big question for the manager.

I don't want Jones to leave, but at the same time we have to be realistic.

My guess is Manuel Fernanders or Lassana Diarra or Muutari.

But Diarra has been playing in the last 2 games so would Real Madrid let him go

Most likely to be Maunal Fernanders imo!
