If there are no loans involved in those players/positions mentioned it sounds more like 20m.

I can't believe we might spend some money on a transfer and a club record!

AT LEAST we are going to spend some money, it's been almost 18 months since we paid a fee for a player!!!

Am watching the Sevilla v Almeria game right now. Would love to see Piatti in the ble and white. What a prospect!

Just watching that myself, he worked the space for his goal well. Almost snapped the crossbar as it went in off.

Tidy player.

And as I post he nabs a second, lovely back heel.

We were practically a one-man team with Duff, as he was an established PL winger. Jones has a lot of potential, but we've seen spirited young English defenders come and go over the years. They're not really comparable.

Bit harsh on Tugay, Dunn, Jansen, Cole, Flitcroft, Yorke, Friedel

Nicko wrote someone guessed the name right. There was two names who could cost us new club record. Muntari seems most obvious name. He has never breaked in Italy. Looks like Sam´s signing although he is much under 30. Inter paid him a lot but could sell under £10M. He was sent home from WC but went back there. It makes him look even more like Sam´s signing.

Other one is Ryan Babel. Never made it at Pool but he is still young and would cost more than the club record. He has played on left wing though. Muntari it is I think.

Now we are taking, what a player he is going to be.

Almeria in dire financial trouble to boot.

Goals if anyone wants to see them.

Nicko.

In the summer you were talking about how so many things could happen if one club sold/bought a new player. In example if City were buying Torres etc.

How do you think the Tevez being sold now, will affect the transfer window?

Tevez wants a pay rise.

End of.

First time I have ever seen him, so not very well positioned to say how good he could be. But, the commentators were complimentary, and his finishing was very good.

He must be on a hefty wage already surely?

Greedy swine!

Mind you, ###### make their own problems paying the likes of Ya Ya Toure 250k a week or whatever he's on. Time to chuck some more money in Mr.Monsour (sp).

It's more the clash of personalities with Mancini that's caused tonight's reaction, from what I've heard.

As for us, I'm sure Landon Donovan is on Sam's wishlist somewhere but I can't see us paying more than £3/4m for him.

Also, did anyone really believe the quoted £5m figure as a definitive amount?

I've always said it was more than likely either a) a misguided comment before any serious tranfer discussions took place, or B) a red herring for us to plead poverty during negotations.

That said, it's all rumours at the moment until something actually happens or until some specific info comes to light, so we'll wait and see...
