67splitscreen Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 If there are no loans involved in those players/positions mentioned it sounds more like 20m.

chaddyrovers Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 If there are no loans involved in those players/positions mentioned it sounds more like 20m. I can't believe we might spend some money on a transfer and a club record! AT LEAST we are going to spend some money, it's been almost 18 months since we paid a fee for a player!!!
HemelRover Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Am watching the Sevilla v Almeria game right now. Would love to see Piatti in the ble and white. What a prospect!
jumpin' Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Sam likes Scott Parker. That's why wham have bid for Joey Barton.
chaddyrovers Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Am watching the Sevilla v Almeria game right now. Would love to see Piatti in the ble and white. What a prospect! which team does he play for????
HemelRover Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 which team does he play for???? Almeria, Just scored their second goal. Cracking strike, great control.
the swede Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 On a separate note. From what I hear there are still THREE positions down to be filled. Right wing, midfield playmaker and striker. Could it be one person? Landon Donovan on wiki Playing position: Winger, Attacking Midfielder, Forward
ada2020 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Am watching the Sevilla v Almeria game right now. Would love to see Piatti in the ble and white. What a prospect! Just watching that myself, he worked the space for his goal well. Almost snapped the crossbar as it went in off. Tidy player. And as I post he nabs a second, lovely back heel.

Alan75 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 We were practically a one-man team with Duff, as he was an established PL winger. Jones has a lot of potential, but we've seen spirited young English defenders come and go over the years. They're not really comparable. Bit harsh on Tugay, Dunn, Jansen, Cole, Flitcroft, Yorke, Friedel
S15 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Bit harsh on Tugay, Dunn, Jansen, Cole, Flitcroft, Yorke, Friedel ...Thompson, Gillespie, Neill, Berg, Short. Great team, great days..
Amo Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Bit harsh on Tugay, Dunn, Jansen, Cole, Flitcroft, Yorke, Friedel You were doing so well until 'Yorke'...
S15 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 You were doing so well until 'Yorke'... To be fair in his first season, the one in which that team peaked, he was our leading scorer.
nicko Posted December 11, 2010 Author Posted December 11, 2010 Looks like we will be spending well in excess of the 5 million mentioned. I would say it is looking more like 12-15 Million would you agree Nicko? As you may recall I never believed the £5 million thing...
The Rover of Finland Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Nicko wrote someone guessed the name right. There was two names who could cost us new club record. Muntari seems most obvious name. He has never breaked in Italy. Looks like Sam´s signing although he is much under 30. Inter paid him a lot but could sell under £10M. He was sent home from WC but went back there. It makes him look even more like Sam´s signing. Other one is Ryan Babel. Never made it at Pool but he is still young and would cost more than the club record. He has played on left wing though. Muntari it is I think.
67splitscreen Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Tevez anyone. SSN just reported, NOTW to break the story tomorrow he has handed in a transfer request.
SergioPeter89 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 As you may recall I never believed the £5 million thing... Nicko. In the summer you were talking about how so many things could happen if one club sold/bought a new player. In example if City were buying Torres etc. How do you think the Tevez being sold now, will affect the transfer window?

Now we are taking, what a player he is going to be. Almeria in dire financial trouble to boot. Goals if anyone wants to see them. My link

Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Would be ironic if it was Diarra. About 3 years too late! Baptista would be a good shout as an attacking midfielder. Good in the air!
chaddyrovers Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 come on Nicko, tell us whether the midfield player we are looking is currently playing overseas or playing in the Uk???
ada2020 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Now we are taking, what a player he is going to be. Almeria in dire financial trouble to boot. First time I have ever seen him, so not very well positioned to say how good he could be. But, the commentators were complimentary, and his finishing was very good.
47er Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Ta. I thought Nicko was telling us that Mister X has had Premier League experience but is now playing abroad. Therefore Muntari is a good bet.
ada2020 Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Tevez wants a pay rise. End of. He must be on a hefty wage already surely? Greedy swine! Mind you, ###### make their own problems paying the likes of Ya Ya Toure 250k a week or whatever he's on. Time to chuck some more money in Mr.Monsour (sp).
Andy Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 It's more the clash of personalities with Mancini that's caused tonight's reaction, from what I've heard. As for us, I'm sure Landon Donovan is on Sam's wishlist somewhere but I can't see us paying more than £3/4m for him. Also, did anyone really believe the quoted £5m figure as a definitive amount? I've always said it was more than likely either a) a misguided comment before any serious tranfer discussions took place, or a red herring for us to plead poverty during negotations. That said, it's all rumours at the moment until something actually happens or until some specific info comes to light, so we'll wait and see...
