Backroom Tom Posted October 30, 2010 Backroom Posted October 30, 2010 As long as we give it a go and don't bend over for them I'll be happy. Niko can't start surely, him vs Terry in the air would only end one way

47er Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 One depressing stat says it all about how this game is likely to go. We have had fewer shots from open play than any team in the league---41 whereas Chelsea have had the most---91. Stats from BBC. If you don't have a go you won't get any result. I think we'll lose 2 or 3-0.
JMillZz Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 As long as we give it a go and don't bend over for them I'll be happy. Niko can't start surely, him vs Terry in the air would only end one way The thing is who will compete with him in the air? Niko? Nope. Benjani? Nope. Diouf? Nope. Samba? Maybe! Haha. We can't play hoofball tactics today as Terry will mop it all up.
MarkBRFC71 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 The thing is who will compete with him in the air? Niko? Nope. Benjani? Nope. Diouf? Nope. Samba? Maybe! Haha. We can't play hoofball tactics today as Terry will mop it all up. Everyone on here with a modicum of sense and football knowledge knows that, but you can guarantee that's exactly how we will play. It's a damage limitation job from the first whistle if we play our usual tactics.
Backroom Tom Posted October 30, 2010 Backroom Posted October 30, 2010 And as you and I know Mark, if we approach the Chelsea game like we do sometime and sitback and hope for a 0-0 they will break us down. I honestly think we should just go for it today, then again I am a football fan not a football manager.
Lathund Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I thought straight red cards = Three match ban? 3 match ban is only when sent off for "Violent Conduct" IIRC.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Samba and Nelsen back, Benjani starts in place of Niko.
philipl Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Blackburn 01 Robinson 04 Samba 05 Givet 06 Nelsen 27 Salgado 28 Jones 07 Emerton 12 Pedersen 10 Diouf 21 Mwaruwari 41 Diouf Substitutes 13 Bunn, 03 Olsson, 08 Dunn, 11 Grella, 09 Kalinic, 23 Hoilett, 30 Roberts Chelsea 01 Cech 02 Ivanovic 03 A Cole 26 Terry 33 Alex 05 Essien 12 Mikel 15 Malouda 18 Zhirkov 11 Drogba 39 Anelka Substitutes 22 Turnbull, 17 Bosingwa, 19 Ferreira, 46 McEachran, 21 Kalou, 23 Sturridge, 44 Kakuta
AspRover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 After a season of one up front we appear to be playing a 442. Not altogether sure what to make of that. Robinson Salgado Samba Nelsen Givet Emerton Jones Pedersen El hadj Mame Benjani ?
Doaksie Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 J Rob back on the bench today. 4-5-1 I guess. Midfield of - M. B. Diouf - B. Emerton - P.Jones - M.G. Pedersen - E. H. Diouf and Benjani up top
Exiled in Toronto Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Emerton in instead of Olsson - ludicrous
Mr. E Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 some clubs starts with Drogba, others start with Benjani. Such is life.
adopted scouser Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 some clubs starts with Drogba, others start with Benjani. Such is life. Cock.
budha Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Seems to be our normal 4-5-1; Emerton at the middle, Diouf's at the wings and Benjani at the front.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 The two brothers from VH at the game: http://yfrog.com/2svenkybrothersj
Amo Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Great chip by Mame Diouf! Pedersen's corners have been dog-guff.
sweet Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Have arsenal started playing in blue and white?????????
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Great chip by Mame Diouf! Pedersen's corners have been dog-guff. Yep on both points. Chelsea look really shaky at the moment, we need to capitalise before they click.
budha Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Good start from us. Only if we could finish. Benjani is showing how our lone striker should play.
Rover Down Under Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Wow! What a difference from last week, we are playing very well and spent the last 10 mins peppering the Chelski goal, a chheky chip from Diouf the Second, 2 shots from Benjani, Peders in there as well, lots of corners, keep it up lads!
Rover Down Under Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 And there it is! Benjani heads it in from sweet flighted ball from Diouf.
BuckyRover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 some clubs starts with Drogba, others start with Benjani. Such is life. Indeed
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 And there it is! Benjani heads it in from sweet flighted ball from Diouf. Great cross by Diouf
