Amo Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 1-1 H/T Can we take that now and call it quits? Brilliant start in the first 25 minutes. High pressure up the pitch, we mixed it about and created opportunities. After the goal, we started slacking, back to pinball football and a lack of composure. I'm not looking forward to the second half...

adopted scouser Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 The Venky brothers are sat next to Jerome Anderson. Bet they up there war chest of £5m to £5.5m
BRFC1995 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 get roberts on for salgado, gonna get booked again inevitable, at half time. Benjani has had his moment time to get off. Gutted gael went off chelsea are too good to have ollson as a left back.
martmitch Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Excellent start to first half, Chelsea controlled it really towards to end, I really fear for olsson at left back, I feel Chelsea will isolate him up against drogba, like what happened for their goal not only did he completely miss the ball he took out another of our defenders also
modes98 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Nelsen should mark Anelka but not go for Drogba That's exactly it. If he does there is very little chance the Drogba can get the ball across to Anelka. I thought the poor marking at Liverpool was due to the fact that Samba and Nelsen were out, evidently not! Brilliant performance until they scored and it seems to have really hit us hard. Half time could not have been timed any better. Sam needs to wind them up and send them back out with the same attitude as first half. Brett, both Dioufs and Benjani have been fantastic.
philipl Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 From the BBC- 1551: HALF-TIME Blackburn 1-1 Chelsea Owen Phillips's HT snap-shot: "Blackburn have more than matched Chelsea on the quality front and should have been two or three up by the time Nicolas Anelka's sumptuous strike levelled matters. Terrific first half."
Doaksie Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Pride in the shirt and finally showing some passion - that's all I ever ask for. Oh, and is my screen faulty or we are actually pressing the ball. Amazing (well for half an hour anyway). More of that please.
yellowsubmarine Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 If we were to take a 1-0 lead to H/T, don't think anyone, even Ancelotti, will complain. But its 1-1, Chelsea's class shown with their goal. Can't believe Olsson took out Nelsen. Givet MIGHT have got the header if he has been on the field for awhile more. Spotted Capello, beside John Williams. England callup for Jones soon?
sweet Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Players starting to realise they might have a fight on to keep their place in the first 11 - with the prospective new owners in the stand and takeover looming? Sure as hell looks like they have had a kick up the backside - nonetheless.
bigbrandjohn Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Sitting in the coffee bar looking forward to tomorrows live game and checking the comments on this thread. WTF. Must be getting old. Hope I don't jinx the second half.
broadsword Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Hold on - I thought the reason that we aimlessly hoofed it up the pitch was because we didn't have the players to mix it up? If we've gone out against Chelsea and played Blackpool-style, we'll get relegated! Oh, what's that you say, 1-1?
Rover Down Under Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Who was it that said benjani would never score a rovers goal? And who was it who said he would score in his next start?
bigbrandjohn Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Olsson and Roberts giving us greater depth.
Amo Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Regardless of today's result, I never want to hear anyone say we can't mix it up. We've proven that already and even the commentators have noticed the variety in our play.
Nelsta Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 good save robbo, chelsea starting to get more into this.
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Regardless of today's result, I never want to hear anyone say we can't mix it up. We've proven that already and even the commentators have noticed the variety in our play. For the first 30-35 minutes anyway. Reverted back to our more usual play now. Good save by Robbo. Chelsea pushing hard for a winner.
bigbrandjohn Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Roberts knows how to play target man. He is putting it up em
BRFC1995 Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 for every one good pedersen set piece there seems to be 20+ hopeless ones to follow, not even frustrating anymore as i accept he is simply untalented and not possible for him to do better, get dunn on
Tim Southampton Rover Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 David Dunn scored for E. Stirling against Forres Mechanics
