thenonda Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 It is an interesting point about what happens to the trust fund money. I wonder if there will be any tax outstanding on the amount.
blue/white Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 It will be interesting to see what this week brings takeover wise. It the PR last week is anyhting to go by VH should complete this week and at least they have been here (to Ewood). I have said it before if Syed wants the club he needs to get on a plane and come talk to the club/trust. The fact that he has not, to me seems to suggest he really isnt that interested. Yes, i see you point. BUT: why pick up the quarter mil pound tab on DD and the donations to local organizations? There must be a modicum of interest, no? Perhaps as others have mentioned he was only looking to heighten his western profile.... but weren't there cheaper options to do this?
blue/white Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Oh dear, the dizzy heights of the Championship have gone to his head, Sam, wait and see fella, you may just be left with egg on your face Along w/ the fur on his face and hands?

I agree and I think people on here would put me in the pro Syed camp but it just seems to me like if he really wanted to do the deal there would be a little more urgency in his team. Esp considering the Rao brothers were at the ground on Sat You would of thought that there would be cheaper ways of raising your profile but then again 500K for the amount of world wide publicity he got on over thousands of news bullitens on google news etc is prob cheap.
Hughesy Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I thought Syed was going to try & complete by the end of August?! What happened there? He's been around now for 5-6 months and still hasnt managed a deal...Why is that if the garden is rosy & his money is in the bank?
waggy Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 why can't there be a vote on this, seems a lot of rovers fans are against this takeover, some are unhappy about the involvement of a sports agency, some think we are being undersold.so come on mods grow a pair and lets have a vote

waggy Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 well some on here know more than jw,i would just like a vote on wether rovers fans are happy with the sell out of the club
PAFELL Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Ah, we've intentionally given no detail as to what went on with Kamy (or Philip) and in fact, I myself an not in possession of all the facts, but my initial reading of your post lead me to believe you knew something more about it than had been disclosed publicly. Sorry Glen I have to differ with you on that. What 47er said is no different to what is commonly known by many on here with regards to Kamy. None of those who told me said it was asecret. In the post that you replied too, I also know of those things he mentioned, yet I was not involved in anyway shape or form. Things have been told to others via posts on here and PM's with regards to Kamy. From what I was told, my view, is what happened to Kamy, the way he was treated by some pathetic idiots on here, was a disgrace.
ada2020 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Dont know if this has been posted yet: From the LET: Meanwhile, despite reports in the national press yesterday, Rovers do not anticipate any hitches in the proposed takeover by Venky’s. Full link: My link
den Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 It is an interesting point about what happens to the trust fund money. I wonder if there will be any tax outstanding on the amount. There never was a trust fund.
gumboots Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 well some on here know more than jw,i would just like a vote on wether rovers fans are happy with the sell out of the club It will make not one jot of difference what we think so there is no point in a vote. Personally I have serious doubts, not based on facts but on the rumours we have heard around, about any of the potential buyers, but I also have grave doubts, based on the fact that they have been unwilling or unable to fund transfers of any significant sum, about staying with the trust, even if that were a possibility. Some of the stuff that's been posted on here has been nigh on hysterical in favour of, or against all of the possible buyers and I've tried to keep out of it as far as possible, not because I don't have opinions, of course I do, but because I don't want to jump on any of the various bandwagons that are rolling. In the end, whoever owns the club, provided I can afford it, I'll be in my seat at Ewood, whatever they choose to call it, for the foreseeable future. Whether I get to vote on the takeover, the possible purchasers, the potential sacking of the manager, the potential replacement of the chairman, will have no impact on my support for Rovers, and it shouldn't impact on yours either.
imy9 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Its only daft to the blinded ones who want to fall into bed with an Indian Imy9. How anyone could think any of these Indians are right for Rovers, I, have to ask, what sort of a Rovers fan are you to want an unknown foreigner to come and takeover Rovers, a business that is COMPLETELY alien to them ? Reasoning, would have thought Philipl along with a few others have provided more than enough info for you to reach the same conclusion Imy9. Only just got online now but wow... Could I ask what did our beloved Jack Walker know about football before he purchased Rovers? He was a fan and probably the greatest benefactor of all time but did he make his money through football? I am in no comparing Uncle Jack with the VH Group but they have done anything yet, yet the bile is oozing out of you. Phillip (through a financial analyst) has said that the VH Group are one of the most well known businesses in India, he went further by saying that they are very trustworthy and have a reputation (very good one) built over THIRTY years- now with that basis why are you not willing to give them a chance? Why do you feel that being IN the championship is better than these guys? IF they only give us £5 million, that is £5 million more than the trust are willing to give.

67splitscreen Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 And with that concludes the business for the last 6 months. No doubt Shah has followed his lead. Chicken or bust. it is then.
S15 Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Syed Ali Withdraws From Takeover Process Boo hoo hoo. Good riddance Ali Boy, many brilliant quotes, no memorable actions.
Majiball Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Oh well, that's the end of the hotel and Heliport idea.
Torgeir Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 If he really wanted it he would have gotten it. Bring on the yellow fever!
sparkspakespoke Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Syed Ali Withdraws From Takeover Process Reminds me of when Andrew Cole retired from international football.
Backroom DE. Posted November 1, 2010 Backroom Posted November 1, 2010 Quite clearly Syed did not meet the requirements assmuedly set up by the Trust to ensure the club is sold to a respectable owner. At least a few charities profited from his interest in the club.
Mattyblue Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Thought the builders had already been hired for the new Riverside?!
67splitscreen Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 "Ahsan Ali Syed announces that he has withdrawn his interest in acquiring Blackburn Rovers Football Club having not received sufficient cooperation from the club's representatives." Sour grapes, or a message to the fans?.
