I would say with this quote the deal with Venkys is sealead and Syed maybe has made this comment after being given the courtsey from the Rovers board who may have contacted him to thank him for his interest but they would be going with Venkys?

What do you think.

I would be very suprised if we dont get an announcement before the end of week.....

Or maybe it is the quiet Shah making a last bid.

Why unfortunate? Not getting on your case, genuinely wondering what you mean.

Dave Whelan loves his football, seems to be quite ruthless in business. He would have made a good owner were his heart not in Wigan.

So Venky it is then.

unfortunate in that two English millionaires with passion for Blackburn Rovers happened to get into football club ownership around the same time - If Jack hadn't bought us, perhaps Dave Whelan would have stepped into the void.

Don't get me wrong, it turned out fantastically for us and I wouldn't change the memories for the world.

As Nicko said, a slightly different gap between Jack and Dave Whelan and perhaps Dave Whelan could have taken over where Jack left off

Ah, we've intentionally given no detail as to what went on with Kamy (or Philip) and in fact, I myself an not in possession of all the facts, but my initial reading of your post lead me to believe you knew something more about it than had been disclosed publicly.

The only facts I know were on the record on this board. I think you were jumping at shadows there.

I think that Syed has had our leg up. I for one, bought into his vision for the next 15 years for BRFC and thought that we could perhaps mix it with the tier two of the premiership, and at least be in the market for the same players as Villa, Everton, Liverpool.

If this has been one big ego trip then that fella has more money than sense if he paid £250,00 for the priveledge of due diligince (plus his lawyers fees) for something he was never going to get.

I assume that Nicko is referring to his failed bid when he posted earlier - will make an interesting read.

If nothing else, there will be choir scholarships for a while at the Cathedral, and some kids will get a bed and food, so not all lost.

I am not against Venkys at all, well theres nothing there that a good hairdresser cant fix.....................

I'm not saying to take her words as gospel btw, but there's enough misinformation going around already without adding more. She has said that extra cash will be made available after the initial 5M, this quote was also in the LT I believe.

Thats a step in the right direction. Venky's need to reveal their full plan so as to get the fans onside like who stays who goes etc., because at this moment in time there are many who simply dont buy into it as it stands.

If people are worried about us doing a Pompey to coin a phrase, who would be the bigger risk owning us to achieve this? An unknown billionaire who wanted to pump 300 million into Rovers and impresses fans with talks of exiting signings or a firm that has made its money over the years, is well tracable to its money, is sensible and realistic about Rovers league status.

Like the majority I was exited about Syed but I am realistic and the last thing I wanted to see was too much money too soon, what happens the funds dry up and we are left with expensive players on long contracts who are underperforming, we are buggered.

I am much happier with the VH group as they have kept very quiet (which is probably a good thing) and they are basically like us, a small run family firm that has done very well over the years, granted im not over happy about the supposed 5 million budget in the window I think 10 million would have been a better figure which would have bought us a very good striker who could get us the goals we need but its a start.

As for Kentaro's influence, well lets just see how we go with them, its not like we dont have voices to air our concern, the last thing the new owners would want is to upset the fans and as Kentaro have no money invested in us they can easily be replaced once our owners find there feet or realise they dont need them.

Thats a step in the right direction. Venky's need to reveal their full plan so as to get the fans onside like who stays who goes etc., because at this moment in time there are many who simply dont buy into it as it stands.

Venky's had an initial problem with their PR, releasing a few conflicting statements which gave certain people on here ammunition to discredit the bid with information which was suggestive rather than backed up by evidence. Since then some of these claims have been repeated so often that some people are understandably struggling to seperate fact from fiction.

I 'trust the Trust' so to speak as far as finances go, so this isn't an issue I'm concerned about. If Venky's did not have the necessery funds - or were sourcing the funds in a way that would put our club in danger - I very much doubt they'd be in the position they're in and the Trust would have lost interest in them much like they did with Syed.

The biggest issue is Kentaro's involvement - I would love to know exactly what role they are going to play. Agents are snakes at the best of times, and if Venky's were to release any information at this point I'd most like it to be clarification on the role of Kentaro and their associates should the bid succeed.

Have to say, one thing that does sit uneasy with me is the prospective new owners leaving the game early (75th minute I think a few have said, 60th someone else said). We were playing the champions at home, the score was 1-1, they were at their first ever game (in some opinions, second game in Nicko's opinion),they're spending £46m to buy our club - all this yet they leave early and for a PRIVATE JET home. Just seems very half-arsed to me.

Maybe they saw the riversiders leaving and thought it was the end of the game <_<

Oh well! looks like the Chicken boys are taking over then.We just have to pray to God/Vishnu the fears that many posters have expressed on here dont come to fruition.

I suppose we can post all our frustrations all we want but in reality,in the cold light of morning, there appears to be NOTHING the fans can do to influence the takeover.

Our club's welfare is about to be put into the hands of business men who know nothing about football and Agents...once the paperwork is signed, sealed and delivered we are out of the safe hands of the Walker trust and at the complete mercy of others.

Don your Tin Hats and hold tight lads 'n' lasses....fook knows where we could be in 12 months time!!
