[Archived] Rovers Takeover: End game ?

If VH Group complete the takeover this week, will there be a press conference? I would imagine that the new owners would do an interview with the LET to talk to the fans about their plans for the club short and long term???

My point was that some of the new owners recently like Ellis Short of Sunderland or Randy Lerner of Villa didn't do a press conference that I know off and I don't know whether they talk to the local paper either. John Herny did a short press conference tho and talk the head of the Liverpool supporters groups. Gilliet and Hicks did a press conference and talk to local paper plus with supporters groups.

I was just wondering whether VH group would or not? I know their sister talk to the LET abit about their plans for the club but not in much detail.

I hope that VH group are going to ber owners like what Ellis Short and Randy Lerner are and not the H and G were. Short and Lerner go to the games and support their teams but do not seek the public attention tho and they let the Chairman or CEO get on with running the club. Let John Williams run the club and they support him and back the manager with funds and support the team from the directors box.

The Kentaro involvement is interesting. On one hand people seem to be calling our new perspective owners for their lack of football knowledge - and yet are also questioning the involvement of Kentaro who you could argue are well qualified in football matters.

For me one thing is certain - none of the parties involved - from the Trust to our new owners and Kentaro will want this take over to in anyway fail. For our new owners - the more successful we are - the better their company is reflected. For Kentaro - they surely want us to be at least relatively succesful for the sake of the footballers they push our way. Agents will always be part of the game - maybe (for once) they will work in our favour.

Ok. Let's finally get this done and we can get on with being fans of a (hopefully) stable clubs whose owners actually want to own it.

Mainly we can all get back on that transfer page with some hope that one or two of the signings might actually happen.

Maybe once this is completed we can all get back to the way it used to be where we all used to agree with each other.

Dave and Jack were from roughly the same era. However if there had been a bigger gap - or he was younger now - he would have been a terrific owner for you. A true football man.

Reasonable shout but Dave Whelan is as Wiggin as they come, even owns a pie factory! He did a neat deal when he got Wigan Rugby and the 'Latics together, sold two grounds and built one. I've heard from some 'Latics fans that he hasn't dug into his own pocket as much as some would think. But ..... very good businessman who has put both codes to the forefront.

Mind you, I hope he is cheering a Rovers win come Saturday ;)

I can't see why it won;t be done quickly. But when you put a date on things it just starts people whingeing when it goes by.

Heard today that the VH-Kentaro party were flying back to Lond, where they have been based since the initial 'party' arrived ten days ago.

I presume they have been going through the paperwork and fine print since the announcement was made last week.

The sooner, the better. There's not much point hanging around now.
