No need to reply Ricky. But I'd been waiting for one of those Dingles to come spouting trash for days with that one.

Bucky thanks very much you win this one. :P

I'm now going to play my trump card and claim to be dyslexic.

I can't believe not one person said "you've ended up with egg on your face there"

I did on Sam Dingles thread!!

Been with Dave Whelan today - the best owner you never had.

What a fabulous gent he still is. One of the best thinkers and doers in the game.

Knowing people who have worked for him and know him well, gent is not the most appropriate description.

Oh well! looks like the Chicken boys are taking over then.We just have to pray to God/Vishnu the fears that many posters have expressed on here dont come to fruition.

I suppose we can post all our frustrations all we want but in reality,in the cold light of morning, there appears to be NOTHING the fans can do to influence the takeover.

Our club's welfare is about to be put into the hands of business men who know nothing about football and Agents...once the paperwork is signed, sealed and delivered we are out of the safe hands of the Walker trust and at the complete mercy of others.

Don your Tin Hats and hold tight lads 'n' lasses....fook knows where we could be in 12 months time!!

I honestly don't think the Jersey Trust people know much about football either---they certainly don't need to. The club has other people for that.

I meant to reply to you maj, the deletion was nowt to do with me, must have been one of those power mad mods with no sense of humour ;)

My moneys on modes :)

Slander! You just lost your money, rubbish bet. You know I have a great sense of humour.

So looks like it is all decided now then, what will people have to fall out about now?

January is coming up so we'll always have the nickoteens vs. nickonayers to look forward to.

£5m now may well be the last of their investment into the club which is one of the many concerns I have about this takeover.

JAL, you're the guy who posted that the takeover "just wouldn't happen". Remember?

I dont think folk need to concerned that you are concerned.

Indeed, I nearly p!ssed myself when I read that. But, when you've got nothing good to say about someone......

This is probably the article, Link to Daily Mirror Website

Ewood Ali to do a 'Jim Bowen' and ''show us all what you could've had'' ??

But did he tell Nicko who he's offered the club too.......coz I do :D

also he talks a lot of C*** he once said he'd never employ a foreign manager ( well Dave you certainly did )

Dave Whelan has done a sterling job for Wigan given where (like it Bucky, lol). The only part that made me chuckle was when he spoke about bringing kids through, given Wigan's youth are just a CofE and have probably the smallest budget of any premiership team.

Ricky v modes? ;)

My monies on Ricky.

Modes is a post deleting party pooper!!! :P;)

pre tell

I'm saying nowt! I don't think the person who he's talked too has the kind of money needed. I'm actually more interested in the stadium, think there might be some legal issues for a sale. Oh and £40m, surely that's a joke?

Dave Whelan was making the point [sadly cut out] that the Walker family were wanting to sell because the club was a financial burden.

When you think of it that way - Jack's relatives are beneficiaries of the mystical Trust after all - then you can see the point.

Nobody asked to be left in charge of Rovers...they were just handed it.

So Whelan is trying to go down the same road and sell to stop his family being left with that similar state of affairs.

I am sure he is a difficult man to work for - but as a football man he is top class. Nobody else has done what he has done. A player and a chairman/owner in all FOUR divisions.

Sometimes you have to be a tough old boot to get it right.
