Glenn Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 and here was me thinking you were going to link bit of rainbow conspiracy theory.Anyway, less rainbows, more takeover chat.
Brfcrule1 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Nicko/Hughesy can either of you confirm with today's allegations in the press do you think this will delay the deal or is it still likely to be completed this week. Also have you been able to findout what Kentaro's involvement is in all of this the main question being will they be able to sell of our best players over the manager's head or will they be appointed in purely an advisory capacity to let us know of players we could be interested in?. Also it says in that news programme the club is already sold but is that true? or are there several things still need doing e.g. crossing all the I's & T's?.

The Shah group moaning about someone jumping in on their deal? I can't see that one halting any progress, just wasting someone's time. Kentaro's role has basically been picked up and, in some cases, used as a stick to beat them with. Kentaro have players who Rovers will presumably get first crack at. They are also quite big in marketing and TV sales. Why would anyone trying to do well out of Rovers want to sell the best players? It is just scaremongering by some. The deal is close, but lawyers are involved - so it is in their hands and very slow hands they usually are.
Brfcrule1 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Thanks Alan for clearing that up look forward to good news soon.
Mc Love Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Syed paid the 40k donation he promised - I think we have missed the boat on his generosity!
92er Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Syed paid the 40k donation he promised - I think we have missed the boat on his generosity! If you add the first £25,000 gift to the Cathedral-mentioned by Gordon-that makes £65,000.
BuckyRover Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Syed paid the 40k donation he promised - I think we have missed the boat on his generosity! Indeed. That could have been used to pay Pedersen 5 days wages.
Mc Love Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I would love to find out why Syed wasnt able to complete his deal (apart from the one that BRFC werent helpful)
Backroom Tom Posted November 2, 2010 Backroom Posted November 2, 2010 How have we missed out? If he had the money he said to put in and was reliable and trustworthy he would be the owner, something must not have been right with him surely that's obvious? Do people think the trust just decided to not sell to a billionaire who was going to spend £300m for no return just because they didn't want to?
Hughesy Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Syed was around for 5-6 months and DIDNT complete...the club wasnt for sale for £65k! His donations prove nothing. As for those saying Williams MUST STAY - who says he will want to stay? Perhaps the perfect time to hand over in his eyes?
Mc Love Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I am sure nobody apart from the trust know that answer! Its headwrecking though
bazza Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Quote from LET "AHSAN Ali Syed has announced that he has withdrawn his interest in Blackburn Rovers. He said he remained ‘committed to acquiring a leading football club should the right opportunity arise’." Venkateshwara Hatcheries seem to have fingers in a lot of pies.. So a Venky finger will be in a Rovers pie. But what about the Wigan pies? Well, it wouldn't surprise me if Ali Syed bought Wigan Athletic from Dave Whelan. Watch this space.......... Is there another example in the league of a chairman that has played at a higher level than his manager? I doubt it. Speaks volumes for our ex-player Dave Whelan. Brilliant. Well done Whelan. Just imagine what Sam would feel like if that happened. Singing to keep the chief exec rather than the manager! Since Jack's death, John Williams has run our club brilliantly. Jack appointed him because he knew his capabilities. And JW has fulfilled Jack's faith and trust in him admirably. If Jack were here now he would be so proud of JW and chuffed that he (Jack) made the right choice.
Atomicrover Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Not knocking anything about JW because he has done a fantastic job, but wasn't Robert Coar the Chairman at the time of Jack's death?
Mattyblue Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Not knocking anything about JW because he has done a fantastic job, but wasn't Robert Coar the Chairman at the time of Jack's death? Yes, JW became Chairman around 2006 if I recall correctly. However, as Chief Executive he was still the prominent figure he is now.
Hughesy Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Just remember John Williams is a human, he does have a personal life & one day will want to retire....who knows this could be the perfect time for him personally to take a golden hand shake? You also have to remember that people trying to break bigger markets might want a brand manager or something from a big international company like Nike or something similar. LT says that VH Group expect to complete before the end of the week.
Bobby G Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 A new dawn is upon us. Things will never be the same. I hope these guys maintain Jack Walker's legacy and keep respect for the fans and supporters who make this club what it is. Most importantly, I hope the family atmosphere around the club remains!

LT says that VH Group expect to complete before the end of the week. you have mentioned this a few times now, is this something you have heard within the club ? I hope JW does stay on but it does make sense to leave now if he does want to retire.
Balwer Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 you have mentioned this a few times now, is this something you have heard within the club ? This is contrary to my inside info, which claims that JW is planning to live forever. Apparently the summer transfer budget actually went on immortality R & D.
67splitscreen Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I've always though that our board are very close and good friends away from the club, or that is how they appear to me. If JW did decide that his role has been fulfilled and retired, it could well also force the hand of other senior directors to do the same, now IMO, that could be very dangerous, to say the least. Personally If I was the new owner, I would be doing everything within my powers to keep the senior structure in place until the transitional period is over, at least to the end of the season if not the next.
mark1875 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Not knocking anything about JW because he has done a fantastic job, but wasn't Robert Coar the Chairman at the time of Jack's death? according to the brfcs wiki: John Williams was appointed to the board as Blackburn's first Chief Executive Officer in 1997, before becoming appointed as Chairman in July 2005 when Robert Coar stood down. http://www.brfcs.com/wiki/index.php/J_D_Williams
Hughesy Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Been speaking with an Indian journo from Calcutta, India... He says the word back home is that VH will complete within days...I asked him about their wealth as we had conflicting info, which he said its 4000 cr, which is just under £1bn (his words, not my converstion) - he did also say that they are the biggest poultry firm in Asia & that they have alot of expansion already funded so could become much bigger over the next few years too.

Al Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 We disagree. Jack earned his millions. It pleased him to pass it on to his children, just as it pleased him to buy the Rovers. What he does with his cash is his business. That makes Jack's kids as every bit as much deserving a reciepient as the Rovers would be, maybe more so as he apparently did not insist that they invest the money into the club. Like it or not, Jack decided to give his kids his millions. That makes them, legally and morally, the only persons entitled to decide what they do with it. And their ownership of that millions is every bit as deserving as a person who earned his millions according to the person who earned the money in the first place. Absolute rubbish. Tell me how somebody who was just born within the right family is as deserving as someone who works hard from nothing and makes a success in life. It's a no brainer.
