[Archived] Rovers Takeover: End game ?

Strikes me that this takeover is taking an inordinate amount of time to 'close' given the 'agreements in principle' that we have been told about.

This can only add to the general uncertainty and also uncertainty to Sam's January 'window planning'.

If this takeover is completed then on day 1, it is essential that Venkys clarify the positions of both JW & Sam.

Like Phllip & BPF, I think there are some alarm bells ringing, not least in respect of the professionalism, or otherwise, so far publicly demonstrated by Venkys.

I can see there being a big positive when this comes off as they are chicken specialists & considering Sam said in the summer Niko shed some puppy fat this is an ideal opportunity with the right diet to buildup Niko up into a stronger better centre forward one who does not get shoved off the ball so easily!.

Outside of the Blackburn bubble, most people are looking at what is happening with astonishment- the sort of astonishment when you can see a car crash is about to happen to someone you know.

If this is such a transparently bad deal in your eyes, then the Trust must either be stupid or callous. Which do you think?

Asset stripping, quickish sell on, hiking of season tickets, development on sites within the Rovers land structure!? Anyone else heard this? The trust are selling basically because they do not care. From what I have heard today, I feel sick.

This is getting ridiculous now, first we had the "trust the trust" brigade, then the "they've got no money" brigade (this myth was dispelled by a number of different sources), then we had the "there are major bust ups in the back ground" brigade (dispelled by the trust through the LET), now we have the "lest shi* everyone up with the things that scare us the most!

Try reading Kamy's profile if you get a chance- every piece of information that I have heard about VH Group has been very positive and portrays them as decent people.

You forgot the Kentaro may rob our coffers brigade, people will feel left out.

Care to elaborate? I can still change my vote. There is a lot of misinformation about, so I'm not too concerned.

From what I have heard, from a gentleman in the financial sector with links to the trustees, some may have been posted.

We are a vehicle, which will be discarded once the journey is complete.

2 other clubs in the UK turned them down, one is a joke club ( not burnley).

Prepare for changes around EwoodBrockhall, non football related.

Seasons tickets will rise considerably. The new influx of fans from abroad will offset this.

VH are seriously wealthy, put the trust in the shade.

There is other points but my head is spinning. I fear for the Rovers, 136 yrs coming up & it may be one of the worst. Just because they'll flatter us with 5, 6, 7 million, doesn't mean I'll sleep with them. Maybe the early 80's weren't so bad.

Will we be getting a KFC perhaps a corner shop or two?

Only if the corners are filled in!!

Read back through your post, there's elaboration not to mention sensationalism.

I am only passing on information from what I have heard. I care very deeply about my club. That's why I'm elaborating and maybe it is sensational.

If they intended to do that, and made it plainly obvious they wouldn't have got past the trust.

Seriously damaging a football club with a proud tradition will not do their image any good and therefore would be pointless. Asset stripping, apart from being illegal would also serve no purpose for a multinational company.

If they invested in some quality players, I don't think an increase in ticket prices would be unpalatable. Although again, if this was planned I don't know why it would have already been divulged.

Fair enough, I'm only saying I think it sounds like a load of guff.

If it turns out to be right then I'll be sure to find the thread out again, however far down the line, and happily or rather unhappily admit I was wrong.

I'd rather be wrong.

Are you for real? You are taking hearsay as the truth. Listen to what they say when they takeover before jumping off any cliffs.

The bolded part is just ridiculas. There is no way that increasing season ticket prices will result in anything apart from a return to sub 20k attendances. The increase in foreign fans is a myth, even when we won the title we didn't get a dramactic increase in foreign fans attending. I imagine the plan is to increase the asain fanbase but on a much more local scale and especially in the UK.

It isn't just about transfer funds, although having any is a blessing following no investment from the Trust in recent years. The idea that the club can continue to exist with no investment is even more scary than taking a calculated risk on selling to a heavily researched buyer. Whilst the prospect of being owned by chicken farmers doens't fill me with joy it is a better option than dying a slow painful death, in all probability being relegated within 5 years. Small investment can see us stablise within the premiership and keep our heads above water. Used correctly the links to a football talent agency could provide us with top class players for a season for a low fee, granted we don't see a return in terms of a fee but if it gets us higher in the table or into europe then we win that way.

Philip is going to have a field day with this.

If somebody close to the Trust knows those details then the surely the Trust also know of those plans..... Cant believe the Trust would let us go under those conditions especially after being so put off by the likes of Syed and Shah

People seem to forget the Trust will receive 30m pounds for their troubles after the debts are cleared once VH purchase the club. Syed and Shah never actually fronted the money by all accounts.

I for one am eagerly awaiting his next post from Phillip with the addition of this latest load of misinformation.
