We should want at least 20 million pounds for Jones. Here a question tho, Does Jones want to leave rovers ever? He's a rovers fan and I would imagine that he would want to captain the club aswell.

Good news that VH Group want John Williams to stay at the club. What job is Anderson going to get? director of football talent spotting?:angry2::lol:

Unfortunately Chaddy, we are not at the top of the footy food chain, he will go... at some point.

I know we are not. But who's to say that he wants to go? I still think that going to a big club now is wrong. Jones needs to play and he is at rovers. One club he shouldn't go to is Man City. Also didn't jones say this week that he enjoys living at home with his parents and doesn't want his own place yet??? Sure i read that somewhere this week

It is not about NEEDING to sell, players get their heads turned by their agents, by the percieved glamour of other clubs, by the wages on offer, by the limitations of their own club. The club has little power apart from being able to get a fee- an inflated one if the player is English.

We've been down this road enough times over the years.

Jones should not even consider leaving at 18, he should learn his craft at his local club, the club he supports, become a hero and if at 23/24 he sees Rovers as not being able to match his ambitions then maybe look for a new challenge.

But following logic like that is increasingly rare in football.

I scratch my head at Sturridge at Chelsea. He sits on a bench when he could be turning out for alot of Premiership or Championship teams every week. Jones would do the same. He walks out on our first team straight into their reserves for a number of years.

Its depressing.

Maybe Shaun Wright-[my whole career is a joke]Phillips is some kind of example to young footballers. Sitting on a bench your whole career making a ton of money is the dream.

You would hope Jones stays especially if a takeover happens.

Did they?

Must have missed that...you got a link to an actual quote from them?

"

SAM Allardyce will retain full control over Blackburn Rovers' moves in the transfer market as fears over sports agency Kentaro's influence were eased.

The global agency will play a part in Venky's Rovers takeover bid but the Lancashire Telegraph understands they will have no control in the day-to-day running of the club.

Kentaro played a significant role in helping broker the £46m deal to bring the owners of the Indian poultry giants to power at Ewood Park, which is expected to be finalised late next week."

My link

Saw it somewhere else as well, it was in the form of a Q&A from a verbatim from a phone interview, when Ms, desai was asked what part would Kentaro play, she answered (something like) they will be advisor's just like others we have spoken with.

Erm if Anderson is given a role then i presume he will have to stop being an agent? Otherwise there is a massive conflict of interest on his behalf.

Carlsson had the same problem a few year back, took a position with a club, licence suspended, only got it back recently, so I'm told.

Pathetic. That is a level of ingratitude that I did not ever imagine would be seen on here. That is the sentiment of a hateful and spiteful individual. You need to learn some respect.

My thoughts exactly Theno. That is a truly disgraceful statement and one which I never thought I would see from any Rovers fan. Shame on you DGS!

That's fair enough Fife. We'll have to agree to disagree, I'm certainly not ashamed of my post and stand by it. I'm eternally grateful to Jack Walker. I feel no gratitude at all to those who have betrayed his legacy, bled dry and asset stripped the club whilst pumping umpteen millions into their portfolio of dull, underperforming companies. How many times does the club have to be taken to the brink of a disasterous relegation by their neglect?

It will be a cold day in hell when I take lessons in respect from Thenodrog btw.

The next 2 to 3 weeks is what Paul Plunkett of the LET said on twitter today. Rovers and JW always said by the end of November that the club would be sold by.

Hmm wonder where he got that poll from? ^_^

This is so woefully uninformed as to be ridiculous.

On another tack entirely, nicko are you in effect saying Jerome Anderson will become a Rovers director?

"The Indian battle for ownership of Blackburn has taken a new twist after Saurin Shah signalled his intention to outbid the VH Group, which he has accused of "back-stabbing" in its attempts to buy the club."

From the Times online site apparently, subscription needed.

If Shah has lined up a serious amount of additional money to make his bid financially viable, this could be a very interesting development.

He would still suffer from being a consortium which might fracture later but Venky's repeatedly are appearing as a de facto consortium themselves if nicko is correct.

Cover those bases Philip!
