What is the link for the venkys facebook page ?

Will post it later as do not have access to FB in work (do a search on their company name and you should find it) - whilst it is quite low on detail/info, there is some pictures of them sponsoring football matches earlier this year.

its funny that, because Indians are known to pronounce a V as W, and W as V. Howver they dont spell it that way, so im guessing its a typo. Either that, or the person was typing and saying Blackburn Rovers out loud.

OK, OTT and a really random thought. It was discussed over a beer in london by me and some random bloke at a bar.Its a phillipl ramble....unlikly scenario before i get ripped.

what would happen if the indians took over, doubled season ticket prices ,sold samba, jones ,robbo etc. We went with agency kids ,crowds dwindelled to 14,000,got releagated and the owners said stuff this ,we want to move this franchise to anotheer part of england, europe or the world?

its happened in england with the wombles ,it happens a lot in the NFL and theres talk of a uk nfl team ?

| would be one of 14,000.

OK, OTT and a really random thought. It was discussed over a beer in london by me and some random bloke at a bar.Its a optimistic ramble....unlikly scenario before i get ripped.

what would happen if the indians took over, halved season ticket prices ,kept samba, jones ,robbo etc. We went with agency kids, who turned out to be the next superstars, crowds expanded by 14,000, got into the top four and the other owners said stuff this, we want to be run by indians too and play our football around europe and the world?

Its never happened in england before. Also maybe the unstable Buffalo Bills could be reborn in the uk?

Both statements are pie in the sky. Its just a case of saying what you want to hear.....

wimbledon moved...just scares me to think new owners could think new city ...eventually.

even if they moved cities miles away or to another country?

imagine a few years down the line the "euro league" which the big boys crave and a set of criteria is brought in and we dont match it and say a big populated city with lots of "fans " of an indian background suddenly showed interest in wanting this type of football and the owners think mmmmm lets see about moving there and they had the promise of filling a stadium with say 60,00o "rovers" fans ,what would they do ? what would you do ? say ,off top of my head ,to budepest? mumbia, for a world league?

like i say its ott but theres always something that shocks the football world.

A new topic in the offing:

"If the club had to move, where would be your choice and why?"

somwhere in blackburn because we ARE BLACKBURN ROVERS .

London. Because I live here and would be able to go to more games.

There you spoken like a non blackburn lad.

point proven though abought moving.

Of course I am a non blackburn lad, I am Australian and I live in London, does that mean my vote doesn't count as much as locals? I swear we all pay the same price for our tickets...

The question was raised about where I would like to see the club moved if it had to relocate. I would hate to see the club relocate, however if it did it wouldn't matter if it moved 5 miles or 500 miles in my mind, the result is the same. The identity of the club changes somewhat, regardless of how big the move is distance-wise.

thats my point and no offence was meant but the new people have no ties to our town or club.

Ahh I get you now, all good.

Personally I think if we relocate Rovers as we know them are at an end. How many people now honestly still think of MK Dons as the old Wimbledon?

Hopefully this is all purely hypothetical anyway.

so why even have the discussion in the first place - speculation for the sake of it?

I didn't raise the topic, I just responded!

It's hard being a Rovers supporter in London, you pay top dollar to see your team away to some of the very best teams in the league. I'd say my points per game ratio is lower than pretty much anyone on this board.

If this proves to be true it scares the living daylights out of me. Is anyone stopping to look beyond 17th in the PL? Are we considering the implications for football if a deal like this can be put together in Blackburn? On the one side we have a little known, outside of India, reportedly highly successful company which needs a high profile to promote it's business expansion plans on a global basis. On the other hand we have "an association" of football agents /professionals with connections into players, overseas clubs, TV deals etc. and we have a proud football club struggling to play catch up.

VH / Kentaro put together a deal to buy the club and create a model which has worrying consequences for the future of professional football - anywhere. IMV we are talking about the beginning of a radical change whereby clubs truly become franchises which can be used to showcase the talents held by each agent or group of agents while providing relatively cheap, almost self-financing, publicity and brand awareness for major corporations or "wannabe global brands". It does not take a great leap of imagination to see more agents / financiers working together to put their players into a specific team, and when the revenue is not great enough in Blackpool / Blackburn / Wigan to move the franchise to a major urban area where there could be enough support.

Kentaro Rovers v Reebok Wanderers in the MS Virtual League Premier Division.

Am I being to bleak about this? It seems to me the only thing which could stop the development of franchises is the tribal nature of the support. But if this is being sold in to a world wide TV audience, out of season tours, 39th game, etc. it is the potential for a business to earn profits which will determine the decision not 20,000 unhappy souls with a BB post code. We all know the PL will bend over backwards for Sky, what happens if someone with more money than Sky bids for the TV rights and then effectively owns the game, and then re-sells those rights to Sky and other broadcasters?

If we thought the game had changed in the last 15 years, watch the next 10 whizz by.

Just look at cycling and the Sky Team

Tell you what ABBEY you're not alone in thinking this could happen. I have a bad feeling about this and until VH / Kentaro come out with a sensible statement, one which doesn't treat us the way I've seen TV reporters treated by the brothers, I'll stay in the "undecided" camp.

Balwer, off topic a little but I am a blackburn lad who is on business in London this week. Is there anywhere that will be showing the NUFC v BRFC match? Cheers!

Sadly not that I am aware of, nobody in London cares about us and I imagine every pub will be showing the Manchester derby and ESPN are showing a Hearts game.
