[Archived] Rovers Takeover: End game ?

As Iv said earlier this deal is going to happen weather it feels right for you or for me or for anyone. For any fan of this club not to feel nervous would be wrong. The only thing we all can do is support whatever decision is made and deal with the change in a positive way. As for the minimal financial input line I feel they will do what they feel is necessary and like iv mentioned before we are definitely not going to get a Man city spending spree but to have 10 - 15 million to spend per season is fine by me.

And in regards to the discussion about how much money VH have etc, How do you know they are the only investors.??

This is the interesting point...

We have NO idea of the money they are looking to put in. The five million thing only came about as a response to a PR nightmare. To the people that are going to respond to this with 'but they said they would do whatever is needed'. Do they sound like they know what is needed? I could easily see us spending the best part of thirty million to get us challenging for Europe again.

Once more, I'm not against VH. I'm merely saying that a blinkered and overly optimistic view on this, is a dangerous one. I'm perfectly willing to give them a chance but why would I be happy about it at this point when I have no idea what they are planning....?

They did say that it all depends on how long the banks take to make the relevant transfers. It was Diwali in India so everything was shut from the 4th - 8th so this may cause a slight delay as well.

That's irrelevant if not everything has been wrapped up yet though...

If this deal is not to the benefit of Rovers then there is no 'positive' to take from it.I for one will not put VE Chicken sales profits before my club....I dont give a fook about them personally.

10-15 million per season? - if what has been said to date is to be believed then we may have to want with those figures!!

VH the only investors? - unsure due to the frustrating lack of communication between fans and club...fans that ARE the lifeblood of this club.

I completely understand your post and as iv said every fan should be nervous the problem will be when a player becomes available and he wasn't budgeted for and we don't end up signing him and then people come back and say "we told you so". We will not be singing all our targets, we will not have unlimited money we will have "sensible" money. VH are not stupid they have paid 250k for DD they have studied the books and know what has been done in the past and what they need to do. Syed did make a bid for the club and was not given the recognition by the trust rather they choose to deal with VH im sure that says something. I am not being optimistic, I do have links to VH personally and still im nervous, all im saying is that whatever happens we need to be positive about it, I could so easily post the what if this happens stuff but whats the point when KNOW ONE on here knows even half the facts or plans.

I agree with you but the part in bold is also the exact reason why we must approach this with suspicion until we know otherwise.

That post does look annoying now, mainly because iamarover removed the posts that it was made in response to in order to cover up his error.

OK, second thoughts... it was annoying and boring anyway. Sorry ;)

You have now made three separate and completely different assesments of the Venky's wealth. Just admit you don't have a clue and stop scaremongering on this site. Incidentally we just beat Newcastle 2 - 1.

That can't be right. The LT told us they had turnover of £1bn and profits of £134m last year.

Anyway since I doubt they will issue an apology for the horrendous errors in the original article I suppose this is as close to vindication as I will get.

Not really! I've made one assessment of Venky's, one of VH Group and one of the promoter's proportional ownership of VH Group. Three different assessments because three different things are being assessed! Keep up! Anyway, I've agreed to stop my 'assessments', you'll be pleased to know.

Incidentally we just beat Newcastle 2 - 1.

I know, I was there. Were you?

:rover: every day that passes i grow more hopefull that rovers will show this latest bunch of indians the door, they clearly do not have the funds to by our club at a give away price, brockhall itself must be worth £15 - 20 million.then i read in the telewag that they made record 6 months profit of 9 million.if we are sold to these cowboys we will only go one way,aka pompey :brfc:

Typical scaremongering, based on not a lot.

You also have a way with a turn of phrase which is unpleasant at best if not downright offensive. What the hell does the bit I've put in bold above add to this discussion???

Out of all the drivel, nonsense and pure speculation on these pages there is one thing that stands out to me. I know the Trust/Board/Club like to do things quietly and in the background and not draw to much attention to themselves, which on occasions I think is the best way to go about your business, but come on! Surely it must have been noted in the corridors of power that there is a grumbling and a rumbling coming from the fans?

Now I’m not asking for a seat on the Board, or half hourly twitter updates from JW himself, but I do feel that there should be some flow of information coming from inside the Club.

Whilst the Club remain tight lipped and secretive about the takeover, we, as fans, will bang our heads together and dream up scenarios that maybe in our wildest dreams, or in our darkest nightmares!

Like I say, I don’t want the world, I’d just like the Club to come out and complete the following statement.........

As you are aware we are currently in discussion with VH Group about taking over ownership of the Football Club. The Trust/Board/Club would like to assure the fans that we feel VH are the right party to provide the continued success of Blackburn Rovers FC for the following reasons.............................................................................

Or am I asking for far too much???

Yes. It might be a reasonable request but they don't do business like that - very few, if any, do.

Ok. I'm a dick, you're a pussy. Sorted!

Was Nicko doing us a favour when he tried to unsettle the best player to come through the ranks in decades by printing a non-story about the 'top clubs' being interested in and ready to bid for Phil Jones? Or is that just trying to turn is head? It certainly doesn't help us.

The way Nicko treats all clubs and their supporters is demonstrated by the disgusting part he played in the exit of Coyle from Burnley. Well it would be disgusting if it wasn't Burnley but as it was... well done Nicko! He'll happily do the same to us one day.

WSC has a good article on his part in it here

You Nickogroupies, I don't know. ;)

Showing your true colours here, chummy.

I think you will find the Phil Jones story was correct. Unsettling? I have my doubts.

And as for the 'disgraceful' Coyley stuff, well what would you know?

Just accept the fact that your club has been happily going through a process with the VH Group while you get lost in your wee accountancy fantasy world.

Better still, give them a bell and tell them where they are going wrong.

You seem to be an expert on the subject. It would be a shame if that valuable input was not used properly.

As I said, well done! Try it with us and then see how welcome you are on here. 'Coyley' is a worthless liar but it was only Burnley so ho-hum!

Go and post on the Burnley forum and see what kind of reception you get. At least it'll give us a break. ;)

Didn't you recommend Mr Coyle to Mr Flood ?

So in a way the dingles have you to thank for the 14 million pound profit !

Anyway back on topic...
