Does Sam tell our players to just give up at half time? It's beyond a joke how we come out every single time in the second half and concede within moments of kick off.

Yeah clearly! Thats why he changed it around & we won.

Jesus, we can't keep a clean sheet to save our lives. Why do they always come out at half time like they are half asleep.

We have kept 2....we have also only conceded a maximum of 2 goals in any league game...not bad considering last season we conceded 4's for fun.

Looks like Sam delivered his usual half-time pep-talk. Predictable as fook .... :(

The poster is predictable

Same old story, decent half, miss chances. Second half shocking, let in 2 or 3.

Same old story - Rovers win in Geordie land you mean?? :xmas:

Nice one, we get a great win and you would rather slag off genuine fans who predicted a loss due to our inconsistent form.

Anyway great result and I'm happy to see Chimbonda and especially Junior get some game time, maybe Sam has been getting him to concentrate on his strength before using him more.

Once again Roberts shows us just what Niko doesn't have, Roberts and Benjani can both create chances for themselves, Niko can't.

Well done Sam, suprised us all there.

Blah blah blah TCO :brfcsmilie:

Good to see MGP & Emerton hitting abit of form...and also good to see Hoilett involved...more of the same please.

Delighted with 3 points...would have been very happy with 4 from Wigan & Newcastle so 6 is excellent - and its our 2nd away win of the season already!! Not bad by our away standards!!

I like how you ignored my other positive posts in favour of highlighting one borne out of a very legitimate frustration at how we come out and concede early in the second half on a regular basis.

A huge part of the problem around here is that some posters seem on a mission to try and one-up others - and you're one of the worst. Considering how low your credibility is I'd advise you not to continue to bring up posts retrospectively and leave snide comments.

Advise all you like...I really couldnt give 2 hoots!

People are quick to put the team down, I simply like to give them abit of their own medicine....TOUGH!

Just seen that from Joey Barton too......AWFUL....Must get more than a standard 3 game ban!!!

Defence has to be the weakest part of their side looking at that line-up.

We need to just go for them.

Prediction from me....4-0 Newcastle, got a bad feeling about this one

You need to stop being so negative and stop putting the team down :P;)

Ha I don't think you'll be the only one to have a bad feeling about that one, Bale and VDV are scary.

But you just never know.

Let Hoilett give spurs full backs a taste of their own medicine.

FFS Hughesy, give it a rest you muppet. There's no-one more predictable, or seemingly as childish as you on this board. Grow up.

Hughton not happy

1 SOCCER Newcastle Quotes HAPPY RETURN FOR ALLARDYCEBy Damian Spellman, Press Association SportBlackburn boss Sam Allardyce was a happy man as he returned to Newcastle and left with three points after winning the tactical battle. Allardyce was relieved of his duties at St James' Park in January 2008 after just eight months in charge, but marked his first trip back to Tyneside with a win as the Magpies failed to record a fourth successive Barclays Premier League success. On a night when Andy Carroll did his England chances little harm with a fine goal and Joey Barton once again courted controversy in a clash with Rovers' Morten Gamst Pedersen, it was the visitors who come out on top after nullifying the threat posed by Carroll and his team-mates for long periods. Instead, it was substitute Jason Roberts who earned his manager's plaudits with an 82nd-minute winner. Allardyce said: ``Our match-winner at the moment is Jason Roberts. ``He was nearly our match-winner against Chelsea, he was our match-winner against Wigan and he made the goal for himself again today, and he won us the game. ``It was a fantastic victory for us, a really pleasing one for us all and one I think in the end, we deserved. ``We changed the system to cope with the attack of Newcastle United. ``The very potent front two and the delivery from the wide men has been an outstanding force for them in the last three games, and we felt we had to stop that.'' Hopes were high for the home side as they went into the game on the back of a run which included wins over arch-rivals Sunderland and Arsenal. However, they were undone as much by their own mistakes as by Blackburn's pugnacious approach. Cheik Tiote's uncharacteristic early slip presented Pedersen with the perfect opportunity to open the scoring with just three minutes gone, and the Norwegian needed no second invitation. The Magpies were laboured in their efforts to force their way back into the game, but the scene was set for a second-half onslaught when Carroll powered home Barton's 47th-minute free-kick. But with Newcastle pushing for a winner, they contributed to their own downfall once again two minutes from time when Mike Williamson was muscled off Paul Robinson's clearance by Roberts, who then reacted first to slide a shot past keeper Tim Krul. Newcastle boss Chris Hughton said: ``Frustrated is probably the word that comes to mind because overall, was it a game we deserved to lose? I would say categorically no, it wasn't. ``Sam came with a side that played five at the back, four in midfield and one up front to make life difficult for us. ``That being the case, you have got to be a good enough side in possession and you have got to create enough chances. ``The game hinged on not the opportunities that they created, it was more our own downfall, two errors that we made which they capitalised on.'' However, much of the debate after the final whistle surrounded the 50th-minute incident in which Barton appeared to catch Pedersen in the ribs as he ran past him, a coming together which was not spotted by referee Mike Jones. Hughton admitted he had not seen the clash, unlike Allardyce, who nevertheless kept his own counsel on it. He said: ``I'm not really going to talk about that because I don't want to detract from our victory. ``Whoever will see it will see it and do whatever needs to be done.'' end

You could do that quite easily without highlighting posters specifically. "Those in glass houses", etc.

FWIW I genuinely do think we have a problem keeping concentration within the first few minutes of the second half, and it's bizarre. It's happened too often this season to be a coincidence. Not sure how Sam would remedy it though, I doubt a team talk alone could cause it.

I think it has to be remembered that the majority of fans on here were clamouring for Roberts to be sold and there were multiple obscenities thrown in his direction as well before this season. A lot of people wanted him out and didn't care much for him at all. I have to say, it's fair enough with some of the misses he's had, but on a personal level, Roberts seems like an honest, hard-working guy. He's given his all for the team for years and has a decent, if not spectacular, goal tally to show for it.

Quite frankly, the loyalty and hard work he's shown for the club, has never been returned by the club's fans and it's a great shame. I believe the first time I actually decided to start posting on this board was in defence of Roberts because I was simply infuriated by the mocking comments laid upon him before he had even had a chance to touch the ball.

I think he has a future at this club and can continue playing a part in the team, but I honestly wouldn't blame him and would probably encourage him to quit and move elsewhere. If I was him, I would be simply fed up by the attitude towards me from the fans and probably management as well.

That's just my two cents though.

Yes. Clear punch with real force behind it. Hopefully it will go to panel.

Because it was not seen by the ref, therefore went unpunished. The panel step in - that is my understanding anyway. Minimum 3 match ban.

Remember that theno is a big fan of Barton and wants him to wear the famous blue and white halves.

If you see him in a bar, for gods sake dont brush past him, you will get punched in the chest.

I would be quite happy to give the little...toerag...a taste of his own medicine.

I notice how he never picks on anyone his own size...

You are the only person in the whole world that has ever annoyed me whilst defending Blackburn. That's an art-form.
